A Month After

The first thing I did as I wake up is to rush to my bathroom and throw up. This is the second day I’m doing this early in the morning! This is crazy! I don’t know if I ate something bad or what. There are also days I feel dizzy, sleepy and tired for no reason.

I stood up and grabbed the cordless phone on my bedside table.

“Hello, this is Savannah. Tell Cameron to come up here,” I order the butler from the other line. I hanged up the phone after and laid down on my bed. Few minutes later, someone knocked on my door and Cameron entered.

“You were looking for me miss?”

“Yeah, buy a box of Hawaiian pizza, large milkshake and large fries. My card is on my wallet on that table beside you,” I commanded without even glancing at him. I didn’t hear anything from him so I looked. I saw him standing and just staring at me. “What are you looking at? Didn’t you hear me? I said—”

“Are you sick?” I just stared at him for a few seconds and did not answer him.

“Do what I just said. Stop crossing the line.”

“Is asking my boss if she is sick is crossing the line for you?”

“Yes. Now, take my card and buy everything I just said.” I laid back down and covered my whole body and my face with blanket. I heard him leave as he closes the door.

A month had passed since ‘that night’ and everything just became worst between us. My personal assistant had to take an emergency leave for family reasons and the company doesn’t have enough time to hire a new one, so, they assigned Cameron to be my personal assistant. He’s now my bodyguard and personal assistant, which means we spend more time together and it sucks considering after what happened.

I still feel unwell but I have to get up and prepare for an event. I forced myself to get up to take a shower. After I changed clothes, Cameron came back with all the foods I asked.

“Here’s what—”

“Bring it to the car, I’ll be down in five minutes and we’ll leave. Tell the driver to start the van.”

I started grabbing my things and bag before heading out. I entered the van and immediately took a sip of the milkshake. Ah! That hits the spot! It’s refreshing. I don’t know why but I am craving for it since last night.

“Let’s go,” I said and we started leaving. I started eating the fries and pizza while scrolling through my phone.

The trip was quiet. I can feel Cameron glancing at me from time to time but I tried hard to ignore him. By the time we arrived at the hotel, I already ate all my food then I realized the mistake I did.

Darn it, I shouldn’t have eaten a lot! I’ll wear a fitted gown later at my bloated tummy might show!

I arrived at my assigned hotel room and I immediately saw my make-up, wardrobe and hairstyling team preparing. I looked around and saw the gown that I’ll be wearing for the red-carpet event. By the way, I am attending a fashion show event as a special celebrity model guest. I’ll be walking down the red-carpet and the cat walk later.

“Is this the gown? Better than I expected.” I sat on the chair in front of the make-up vanity table. I looked at Cameron through the mirror as I hand him my card. “Cameron, but me macchiato iced coffee.”

“But you just—”

“Buy it, now!” I don’t have that much patient to deal with him. I don’t know but my anger issues these days became worse. I looked at my make-up artists and hairstylist and told them to start doing their jobs.

I didn’t realize I fell asleep while having my hair and make-up done. I just woke up when Cameron came back and gave me my coffee.

“How many minutes am I asleep?” I asked my stylist.

“Only a couple of minutes.”

I grabbed my coffee from Cameron and started scrolling through my phone. Few minutes later, someone started knocking on the room’s door. I saw Brian, from the mirror, entering. I automatically rolled my eyes after I saw him.

“What are you doing here?” I said annoyed.

“Supporting you?” he sarcastically said. “It’s been a while.”

This is our first encounter after our messy break-up last month.

“Leave.”

“No uh, I don’t think so.” He walked towards me and even made my stylist move out of his way. He started touching my hair but I immediately stood up and slapped him hard. He smirked while touching his cheeks.

“Leave, or do you want me to drag you out?” He was stepping closer to me but Cameron blocked him. I continue to glare at Brian and I get angrier as I stare on his face more. “Leave now. You have no place here anymore.”

“Really? Did you forget that we own this hotel?”

“So? I can still kick you out of this room. Get out!”

“Stop acting like you’re so great.” He tried to come closer to me but Cameron pushed him away.

“Sir, I think you have to leave. Let’s not make a scene,” Cameron calmly said. Brian just chuckled and smirk as he turns his back and leave.

I took deep breathes before sitting back on the chair to finish my preparations. Gosh! I hate him, actually I hate his entire presence!

After three hours, I finished preparing. I am now dressed and getting ready to go to the venue. The hotel is only five minutes away from the venue, so it didn’t take me that long to arrive. I took a deep breath and prepared my fake smiles as I step out of my van.

I posed in front of multiple cameras as I walk down the red carpet. I am now at the main stage and taking a picture when suddenly, a bitch came to steal my spotlight.

“Savannah! My dearest sister-in-law!” Bria, Brian’s sister, came and hugged me. I’m not even trying to fake a smile; all I am expressing is annoyance.

“Miss Savannah and Miss Bria, can you pose for a picture? It’s rare for the soon to be sisters-in-law to be in one frame!”

“Of course!” Bria cheerfully exclaimed but I immediately opposed her.

“No, first we’re not taking a picture and second we are not future sisters-in-law.” I looked at Bria and came closer to her as I whisper. “Drop the act. It doesn’t suit you.” I faced the reporters and smiled. “It’s been a month since me and Brian broke up. I’m not giving more details as I want to save my ex-boyfriend’s dignity.” I walked away and entered the venue.
