14. Followed by enemies

The sun started to go down, painting the landscape with warm colors. The road was lined with trees, their leaves glowing in shades of orange and pink. It created a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The gentle breeze carried the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers, while birds chirped, adding to the tranquility. However, Sara couldn't escape the sadness weighing on her heart as she drove.

She tried to find solace in the serene surroundings, but thoughts of her husband's condition kept resurfacing. The image of him injured and helpless made her feel deeply sad. She let out a deep sigh and shook her head, determined to stay focused on the present moment.

During her drive, Sara noticed another car following closely behind her, and it only added to her frustration. Fear crept into her heart as the car continued tailing her. The intensity of her anxiety grew as the pursuing vehicle got closer. Her hands became sweaty as she tightly gripped the steering wheel. Despite feeling trapped, Sara summoned her courage and pressed down hard on the accelerator pedal.

Sara Owen’s only thought was to save Yohan's child, and with that driving her, she raced ahead at full speed. The sound of the engine roared in her ears as she sped down the road, her eyes scanning the area for any possible escape routes. But the pursuing car seemed to be gaining on her, and Sara felt a wave of panic wash over her. She could hear the screeching of tires as the car behind her swerved, trying to get closer. Sara's heart sank as she realized that she was running out of options. It seemed like the end of the road had come, and nothing was visible except the sea in front of her.

There was nowhere left to run. She felt her stomach churn in fear as she heard the pursuing car getting closer and closer. The sound of the engine filled her ears, drowning out all other noise. She knew that she had to act fast if she was going to survive.

As the gas ran out, Sara knew that she was in serious trouble. She felt the car sputter and jerk, then finally come to a stop. She got out of the car and started running, holding her stomach, trying to calm herself down, but the fear was too great. She knew that she had to keep moving, to find someplace safe where she could hide from her attackers. She walked around, trying to find some sense of direction or a way out. But everywhere she looked, she saw only the vast expanse of the sea. She felt lost and alone, and the thought of the child made her heart heavy with sorrow.

Then she could see a deserted yacht.

She hurried onto the yacht.

The sound of the approaching car grew louder, and the thought of what those men might do to her terrified her. She desperately needed to find a hiding place.

The yacht was eerily quiet as she cautiously descended the stairs, careful not to make any noise. She searched for a spot where she could conceal herself and looked for her mobile phone. Unfortunately, the cell phone was already left in the car in her purse.

She leaned against one of the containers and tried to catch her breath. Fear made her tremble, and she fought hard to remain silent.

Closing her eyes tightly, Sara strained her ears for any signs of movement outside. She could still hear the approaching car, but then it gradually faded away. She couldn't tell if the men had given up or were still searching near her car.

Realizing she needed to stay hidden until she was sure it was safe, she decided to wait a little longer, hoping it would be enough to protect her.

As time passed, the stress and fear had drained her energy. Sara leaned her head back cradling her belly, and tried to stay awake. But her body succumbed to weariness, and she soon drifted into a deep sleep.

The next morning…

Sara Owen woke up with a slight ache in her body. She was in a strange room, causing her to feel anxious and start sweating.

The room was small and cramped, resembling a storage space without any windows for natural light. Sara noticed a closed door and realized she was lying on a pile of sacks on the cold floor. As she struggled to sit up, she leaned against the wall, feeling discomfort in her stomach. The confined space of the room made her feel even more afraid and confused.

It dawned on Sara that she was no longer on the yacht but in an unfamiliar location, possibly a house. Her heart raced as she strained her ears, hoping to hear any sounds, but all she could hear was her own breathing. She tried to calm herself down and think logically.

How did she end up here? Who brought her here? And for what reason?

The more she pondered, the more frightened she became.

Could this be a kidnapping? A ransom situation? Or something even more sinister?

She stood up and approached the door, attempting to call for help. Despite shouting and knocking, there was no response, leaving her feeling tired and scared.

She surveyed the room, but there was nothing aside from a few empty sacks scattered about. She tried the door again, but it remained locked. A sense of hopelessness started to creep in.

How long could she survive in this tiny room without food or water?

She noticed a small, rusty nail sticking out from one of the walls. She grabbed it, hoping to use it to pry open the door, but it proved to be too weak, and the door too sturdy.

After a few attempts, she managed to climb onto the pile of sacks and reach the ventilation. Peering out, she hoped to find some clue about her location or any sign of help.

As Sara's eyes swept across the scene, shock and overwhelming emotions flooded her. She spotted the man she had been desperately searching for, and she couldn't believe her own eyes. Her gaze widened, and tears streamed down her face in disbelief. It was hard for her to understand that he was actually standing right in front of her.

"Yohan!!!"
