6. Something about Yohan's kidnapping

“If my graduation had not been completed, I would not have been the Chief of IT Cell, then the powers would have been with uncle, your father.” Sara Owen stated what was written in the document.

Neel Dixon glared at her for a moment, how did this simple woman start understanding the tricks of business?

“Okay. I cancel the board meeting.”

“I'm not stopping you from taking company decisions, Neel. But every decision taken in this company should not go ahead without my consent.”

Neel Dixon nodded with a deep sigh, “Let’s go home. Mom and Dad are waiting for us.”

“You go. Jack will drop me.”

Staring at her pretty face for a while, Neel Dixon left the cabin.

“Madam…”

Before Assistant Nolan speak, Sara Owen turned back feeling sad, “Was the deal for which Neel went on a business trip successful?”

“No, Madam. They did not understand Young Master’s concept. Although they are our very old client, but they found the chairman's way of working more reliable.”

“I want a report of every damage, in two days.”

“Yes, Madam.”

After Assistant Nolan left the room, Sara Owen looked up at the cloudy sky and the peacefulness around her made her think of her husband. But her thoughts were soon disrupted by the ringing of her cell phone.

“Hello.”

The person on the other hand, kept mute for a moment.

“Who’s this?” Sara Owen asked again.

“Hi, I’m Kevin Johnson.”

Sara Owen stiffened, “Mr. Johnson” She hadn’t expected him to call her.

“I want to talk about a product. I'm in the same hotel room where we first met. Come and meet me here.”

“Business meetings aren’t held in private suites and I don't hold client meetings on weekend. You take an appointment for Monday. See you in my office.” She replied rudely.

He smirked, “This project is not just a business.”

Sara Owen stunned.

“Trust me. You won’t regret it. I’m waiting.”

After Kevin Johnson ended the call, Sara Owen pushed aside her doubts and recalled their first meeting, during which he had boldly asked her to sleep with him. He had been honest about his intentions.

Subsequently, he contacted her again and extended an invitation to his exclusive suite.

Was he deceiving her?

These thoughts troubled her, and she promptly departed from the Dixon headquarters while calling Natalie.

"Hey Aunt!"

"Sara, do you have time off from work? Come over quickly. I told the cook to prepare your favorite dishes. And Neel is bringing your favorite dessert."

"Sorry, Aunty. I have to go somewhere. I'm gonna be late," Sara Owen hesitantly replied.

Natalie immediately became sad, "What's wrong? Haven't you finished your work yet? Didn't I tell you not to work late at night? You're not going anywhere. Come home, let's eat together. If work is important, send Neel."

"But..."

"Don't argue with me. You were attacked here last Saturday, and despite my refusal, you went to work on Monday morning. We're worried that you haven't taken care of your injuries. We want to see you, darling."

Sara Owen finally decided to tell the truth, feeling helpless against Natalie's insistence.

"I'm not going to work. Maybe I'll find something about... Yohan's kidnapping."

Natalie started breathing faster, "What are you saying? Where are you going?"

"I can't tell you right now."

"That sounds dangerous. Why don't you take Neel..."

Sara Owen interrupted, "Aunty, Jack is here with me. I'll be safe. Don't worry. Don't wait for me for dinner. I'll be there soon."

Natalie let out a deep sigh, "Take care, my child."

Placing the mobile phone on the table, Natalie looked at her husband.

"What's wrong?" Bruno asked.

"She won't join us for dinner."

"Why? Is she okay?"

"Mom..."

The elders were in the middle of their conversation when Neel Dixon suddenly came back after a week. He greeted his parents with warmth and glanced around the room, as if he was trying to find Sara Owen.

On the back seat of the car…

Sara Owen held onto her phone tight. She had a feeling that Kevin Johnson's call meant he had some information about Yohan Dixon's kidnapping.

At the same time, Jack parked the car quickly in front of the hotel.

"Jack, just stay here. I'll be back in a jiffy."

"Sure thing, ma'am."

Sara Owen went directly to the private suite using the elevator.

When she reached the suite, she suddenly stopped, feeling anxious about the potential of meeting Kevin Johnson's condition from their first encounter. She pondered whether fulfilling his request would help in finding her husband.

Despite her uncertainties, she mustered the courage to knock on the door.

It was opened by a handsome young man. Their eyes briefly met before his charming smile made her feel uneasy. Nervously, she tightened her grip on her hands and cast her gaze downward.

"Don't fret. I won’t eat you. Come on in," Kevin Johnson said with a smile as he opened the door for Sara Owen. She entered the room, still feeling uneasy.

"What's going on? Why did you want to meet me?" she asked, giving him a cold stare.

He leaned against the door with a charming smile and lit a cigarette. Exhaling smoke into the air, he casually put his hand in his well-fitted pants.

Sara Owen's throat felt dry at the sight, triggering memories of her husband smoking. She closed her eyes tightly and took a deep breath of the smoke, hoping to feel her husband's presence.

"I have some questions for you."

Kevin Johnson's deep voice snapped Sara Owen back to reality, and she struggled to open her tired eyes.

"Listen, I visit Dixon Villa every weekend. It's a promise I cherish. Mr. Johnson, I didn't come here to waste my time."

Kevin flicked his cigarette into the ashtray and gave her a penetrating look.

"I'm talking about your childhood."

Embarrassment flushed Sara's face. The man was asking about a childhood that she couldn't recall a single moment of.

"So, what's the deal with my childhood?"

Kevin tossed a photo onto the table, and Sara's heart sank as she recognized the old man.
