Chapter 1 - Evil Stepmom

Previously, Leo Adams was married to Zoe Nelson, and she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with sparkling brown eyes named Olima Adams. However, following Olima’s birth, Zoe suffered medical complications.

Zoe cried because she wanted to give her husband more children, but Leo assured her that his love for her would never change.

Two years later, Leo spoke to his wife about his intention to marry a second wife who could bear him more children—specifically a son to inherit his properties and carry on his name—rather than adopting, since Olima was a girl.

Zoe became emotional and fearful of another woman entering her home and turning her husband’s heart against her. Consequently, she spoke to her best friend, Gina Edwards, and asked her to marry her husband.

Zoe and Gina had been best friends since high school, having lived on the same island where the billionaire families resided. They remained close even after Zoe married.

Unbeknownst to Zoe, Gina had secretly admired Leo for a long time; she readily accepted the proposal to marry him.

Gina wasted no time, accepted the marriage, and moved into the white mansion to live with them. However, as soon as Gina arrived, her demeanor changed, and she began quarreling with Zoe.

Gina demanded that Zoe vacate the master bedroom so that she and Leo could use it, arguing that since Zoe could no longer bear children, she had no right to it.

Leo was shocked by Gina’s sudden change in attitude; he was appalled that she dared to quarrel with Zoe and even called her a "witch" for refusing to leave the room.

Annoyed, Leo threatened to divorce Gina the following day. Panicked, Gina dropped her hostile facade and reverted to the "good friend" persona she once held, begging Zoe to plead with their husband not to divorce her.

Leo confronted Gina, saying, "How dare you come into my house and quarrel with your best friend? I regret marrying you, Gina. Olima will inherit all my properties; even if she marries and changes her surname, she will always be my daughter. Get ready to leave my house tomorrow—our marriage is over!"

Gina begged Zoe to intervene. Zoe sighed, feeling responsible since she was the one who had asked Gina to marry him.

Zoe then pleaded on Gina’s behalf, and Leo allowed Gina to stay in the mansion, though in a separate bedroom.

From that day on, Gina harbored a deep hatred for Zoe, avoiding her and convinced that Zoe and Leo had conspired to bring her into the mansion just to flaunt their happy marriage.

One day, Gina went into Zoe’s room and pleaded with her to allow Leo to spend the night with her, as that was the reason he had married her.

Zoe waited for Leo to arrive home that night and asked him to spend the night with Gina to see if she might conceive a son.

Leo refused, as he was avoiding Gina and wanted nothing to do with her. However, after Zoe insisted, Leo felt he had no other option; he spent the night in Gina’s bedroom and made love to her.

One month later, Gina remained jealous and hateful, seeing that Leo loved Zoe far more than her. She had expected Leo to ditch Zoe due to her inability to bear more children, but instead, Leo distanced himself from Gina, refusing to eat her food and avoiding her company entirely.

When Gina quarreled with Zoe again, an annoyed Leo brought home divorce papers. He ordered Gina to sign them, but she refused, declaring, "I am pregnant."

Unable to cast her away while she carried his child, Leo allowed Gina to stay in the mansion on one condition: she would move into the boys' quarters and never quarrel with Zoe again.

Gina accepted, as she had no other option and did not want to leave the house.

Eight months later, Gina gave birth to a baby girl named Mia Adams. However, Leo never returned to Gina’s room, abandoning any hope of having more children, especially a son.

Fourteen years later, Gina’s hatred for Leo and Zoe had only grown. In her fourteen years of marriage, Leo had only touched her once, constantly reiterating that he regretted marrying her.

Gina knew she could not leave and remarry, as the townspeople already mocked her for marrying her best friend’s husband, and her parents had never supported the union. She had hoped Leo would eventually love her, but he remained cold.

Gina knew that if she became pregnant by another man to produce a "son" for Leo, he would immediately know the child was not his. He only allowed Mia to live in the main mansion because she was his biological daughter and because Olima wanted a younger sister to play with.

Gina’s heart turned cold. She hired a truck driver to ram into Leo and Zoe’s car, knowing they were on their way to Lemon Hills High School for a graduation ceremony—Olima was graduating from college, and Mia was entering her senior year.

After confirming the "successful" job, Gina killed the truck driver to hide her secret forever.

-----

Three months after the funeral, Gina moved back into the main mansion. She fired all the maids and turned Olima into her servant, forcing her to withdraw from her studies.

When family members began visiting to see who would inherit Leo’s wealth and oil company, Gina acted brutally. She had her in-laws arrested, accusing them of murdering her husband and his wife.

The in-laws were forced to pay for their own bail and sign an undertaking never to disturb Gina Adams or her family again.

Gina contacted Leo’s lawyer regarding the will, remembering that Leo had once told her Olima would inherit everything. She considered killing Olima, but she did not want her own daughter, Mia, to be alone in the house without a sister. Instead, she decided to keep Olima as a lifetime maid, knowing no one would come to her rescue.

When the lawyer arrived, he told Gina, "Mr. Leo’s will cannot be changed. The company is to be given to Olima Adams once she turns twenty-four."

Gina was furious, and she began plotting how to alter the will to make the property hers and her daughter’s alone.
