Olima stopped at the kitchen door and begged, "Please, Ma, I need to write the exam so I can gain admission into the university."
"And who will sponsor your fees? Do you want to tell me you're blind and didn't see how your loving father cast Mia and me aside? Well, if you've forgotten, let me remind you: the money I'm using to feed you is the money I'm supposed to be paying the old maid. There's no money in this house, and I cannot use my business money to sponsor your university fees. Why am I even explaining this to you? Get out of here before I break your empty head!" Mrs. Gina shouted.
Olima sobbed and returned to the kitchen. Mia finished her breakfast just as Nathan knocked and entered the living room.
Nathan, the gateman, came to inform Mrs. Gina that the school bus had arrived.
"Good morning, Madam," Nathan greeted, knowing Mrs. Gina hadn't been the madam of the mansion before his former madam's death.
"Yes, what do you want, Nathan?" Mrs. Gina asked, leaving the dining room to meet him.
"The school bus has arrived to take Mia to school," Nathan informed her. Just then, Mia stood up from the dining table, having finished her noodles and eggs. She picked up her schoolbag.
"I'm off to school, Mom. Take care," Mia said, leaving the dining room.
"Yeah, take care too, my baby," Mrs. Gina replied.
Mrs. Gina watched Mia leave, then sighed, looking at the dirty plate on the dining table. She went into the kitchen to find Olima washing her face and sobbing at the sink.
Olima had been about to prepare her own breakfast when she heard the kitchen door open. She turned to see her stepmother.
Mrs. Gina's eyes burned with irritation. Olima was pretty for her age, with a more developed figure than Mia. She was also taller.
"What are you doing standing there by the sink?" Mrs. Gina asked.
Olima shuddered. "I want to prepare my breakfast, Ma, and cook more noodles."
"Hmm." Mrs. Gina walked to the carton of noodles she had bought the previous week and inspected it. "How many noodles did you cook for Mia today?" she asked, checking the carton. The noodle packets were small.
"Two," Olima replied, shaking as her stepmother stood beside her.
"And how many noodles am I seeing on the cabinet that you want to cook for yourself?" Mrs. Gina glared. Olima shivered. "Thr—three."
"Three noodles! Just for you! My goodness! Do you intend to turn me into a thief overnight?" Mrs. Gina exclaimed in mock shock. Olima quickly shook her head. "No, Ma."
"Hmm. Then how can you finish three noodles this morning? What about Mia? What will she eat tomorrow and for the rest of the week and month?"
"No wonder you're looking so fresh and chubby every week, even after killing your parents," Mrs. Gina glared, while Olima stepped back in fear.
Mrs. Gina walked to the cabinet, picked up the three noodle packets, and said, "Only one noodle is enough for you. I will count this carton now. If I notice you cook more than one for yourself per day, you will see the other side of me."
Mrs. Gina counted the remaining noodles. "There are only ten left. So, you and Mia have eaten thirty packets already this week. And I'm sure you ate the most. Put two packets back to make it twelve, and cook just one noodle and one egg for yourself. But first, prepare my tea and bring it to the dining table."
Mrs. Gina left the kitchen. Olima sobbed and quickly prepared her stepmother's tea. She served it to Mrs. Gina at the dining table.
After serving the tea, Olima returned to the kitchen, prepared her single noodle and egg, and sat on a stool to eat quietly.
Her father had been a billionaire, and Olima hadn't considered applying for a scholarship. She had thought he wouldn't be pleased with the university her school had recommended for their top graduating student.
Olima continued to sob. None of her relatives had checked on her since her parents' deaths. They were only concerned about inheriting her father's oil company and properties, about who would become CEO. With her stepmother around, none of her uncles dared to question her. Mrs. Gina had threatened to have them arrested again if they visited.
Olima finished eating, went to the dining room to clear her stepmother's teacup, and discovered she had left.
Looking out the dining room window, Olima saw one of Mrs. Gina's cars—one of her father's expensive new cars—gone.
Olima sighed and washed the dirty dishes and cups. Finished, she went upstairs to her room, wondering how she would endure her stepmother's daily torture.
Later that evening, Mrs. Gina returned, driving her expensive Lexus Jeep into the garage.
Five exotic cars were parked there. Mrs. Gina remembered her late husband had only agreed to buy her a car after five-year-old Mia complained that Olima's mother had one and hers should too. Mr. Leo Adams had then bought her a small car.
Mrs. Gina locked the Jeep and walked toward the mansion. "Welcome back, Madam," Nathan greeted.
"Yes, well done," Mrs. Gina replied, entering the house.
She saw Olima and Mia watching a romantic movie on the large flat-screen television in the living room.
Olima stood up immediately, not having heard the car over the movie. "Good evening, Ma," she greeted. Mrs. Gina didn't respond, looking at the wall clock. It was past 7:00 p.m.
"Hmm," Mrs. Gina hummed, eyeing Olima irritably. Mia stood up. "Good evening, Mom."
"Evening, Mia. Have you done your homework?" Mrs. Gina asked Mia.
"Yes, Mom," she replied.
Mrs. Gina walked toward the stairs and paused. Olima moved toward the dining area.
"Olima, have you prepared dinner yet?" Mrs. Gina asked, knowing there wasn't much food in the house.
Mrs Juliet still wanted to bond with her grandkids and she begged Olima and Justin to stay and not leave with the twins.Justin smiled and told his mother, "Mom, we are not yet leaving the house."Mrs Juliet sighed in relief and she took Mike and Henry around the mansion, she didn't want the two boys to leave her side. She called her husband on a phone call and showed him photos of the lovely two boys and also video calling with him.Mr Emerson smiled and told her that he wasn't aware and that he would book a return flight back to the country to come see his grandkids too.Olima and Justin stayed back in Justin's family house. They bonded together as a family and ate dinners at the dining table with his mother.Mrs. Juliet finally asked Olima if she had ever gone to pay a visit to her family house again since she left.Olima shook her head and replied, "No ma."They were eating on the dining table and Mrs Juliet spoke about Olima's stepmother. She told Olima that Mrs. Gina had been jai
Olima met with Mrs Juliet's gaze on her. She knew in her mind that if Mrs Juliet had another alternative, she wouldn't be in her office.Olima sighed and replied to Mrs Juliet, "I can understand your decision then ma. But Justin didn't want to."Mrs. Juliet frowned a little and met Olima's nervous gaze on her, She asked Olima, "Didn't you like my son? You made it look like it was only Justin who wanted you?."Olima's cheeks flame red in embarrassment and she replied to Mrs Juliet, "I did like Justin.. but.."Mrs Juliet stopped Olima from finishing her words, she asked Olima, "Tell me the truth. Are you now married? You look like a married woman and I am so scared of what I would tell Justin. I promised him that I would visit you and beg you on his behalf to come home Please come back home and forgive me in particular. I was just hard on you and I cannot explain why."Olima's face turned red as she almost sobbed, but she told Mrs Juliet, "I am not angry with you ma. I can never be angry
Two months passed after Olima and Justin reunited back as lovers, and they became a family even though they hadn't gotten married.Olima hadn't gone to Justin's house was beside hers, to see his house's interior decoration, as she was mostly staying in her own house. She has a lot of entertaining spots in her home, and they usually spend time together whenever Justin visits. They swim in her swimming pool and their twins get used to seeing them together.Mike and Henry already accepted Justin as their father, and Justin now looks healthy and has recovered from his previous slim looks. Unlike the last time that he looks unhealthy.****Jesse has not yet seen the lady of the house that Justin usually visits and even sleeps in her home every day.He only saw the maid of the house and he couldn't ask the maid any questions. One day, Justin's mother called him to return home and she thought to inform him that she had been searching for Olima and she hadn't seen Olima.Mrs. Juliet was not ha
Justin looked up at Olima's face and smiled. He replied, "Yes, I have. I owned the estate.""What?? But I didn't get to see your name there" Olima looked stunned, that she was running away from Justin's family, and she still ended up with him again."I know. I didn't put my name there, but your name is on the document and in my registry too. How about your dad's company? Don't you usually go there, or how do you cope staying here?."Olima smiled and replied, "I go there only once in a while. Mr. Luke gives me an update about the company and he's very trustworthy too. So I don't have to be there always or visit there.""Mm, I hope that you don't run away from this house before I should go to work and return. Or I shouldn't even leave at all, as I don't want you to run away from me again?" Justin asked, taking more steps to meet Olima, while their two sons kept staring at the two of them.Olima smiled and replied, "No, I won't. Where am I going to run away to?.""Do I know? Anywhere of
The following morning, Olima woke up feeling a small hand tapping on her shoulder as she and Justin were still sleeping on the bed "Mummy!" Mike screamed out as he looked shocked to see a man on his mummy's bed.Olima and Justin startled awake and woke up on the bed as they stare at the pair of blue eyes that was staring at them too."My goodness Mike! What are you doing here?" Olima asked in surprise and had totally forgotten that her two kids usually comes to her room every morning to wake her up early in the morning and she didn't usually lock up her room door too..Mike didn't responded, as he sat on the bed beside Olima on her left side and staring intently and suspiciously at Justin's face, as Mike hadn't seen Justin before, and seeing him for the first time, The little boy was wondering who Justin is?.The bedroom door pushed open again and Henry also walked into the bedroom as he wore similar white pyjamas like Mike's own.."Mom!" Henry exclaimed in shocked too as he walked i
Justin replied, "No, I am not... I am not angry with you. I am happy to see you and to be a father, and meet with you again. If there is anyone I should be angry with, Is my mother and not you."Olima frowned and Justin told her, "You shouldn't be feeling any pity for my mother, she doesn't want our happiness.""No, don't tell me that. She's your mom, she carried you for nine months and raised you all by herself. So you shouldn't be mad at her, She would have her reason, I don't know..""Hmm, You are kind" Justin smiled and walked up to meet Olima. He pulled her into a hug again to his chest as she was barely reaching his shoulder height. He said, "I know that is because you're a mother now that's why you're advising me not to be angry with my mother, but is alright, I won't, so long she doesn't come in between us again."Olima frowned a little knowing that Justin's mother didn't truly like her.Justin kissed her cheeks and said, "I do not hate my mom. I am just angry about everything.
