Chapter 7

What kind of woman he desires to wed based on his status is insufficient, why does it have to be her? Jane is perplexed, is it just because of last night?

Damien clarifies, "I won't marry someone I am not acquainted with. As per my investigation, Miss Austen, you are the most fitting candidate."

Jane comprehends that this person has looked into her thoroughly in just one night.

Indeed, someone of his stature must be cautious about his choice of spouse.

"So, do I not have the right to decline?" Jane inquired.

The ball is in his court, and the terms he has offered are quite enticing.

She is not concerned about herself; her brother's illness has always weighed heavily on her mind.

Over the years, it has been challenging for her to pay for her brother's daily medical expenses, let alone find suitable organs and surgery fees.

"I hope you won't decline," Damien said.

Jane understands that she has no choice now that matters has progressed to this point.

Alternatively, she must thank God for providing her and her brother with an opportunity.

She gazed at Damien with clear eyes, "Were you serious when you said you would treat my brother's illness just now?"

"Absolutely, I will include it in the prenuptial agreement," Damien said gravely.

Jane nodded, "If you hadn't reminded me, I wouldn't have known there was a prenuptial agreement. So, you can add another clause: during our marriage, you cannot have sex with me, let alone force me."

Is he shooting himself in the foot?

The corners of his mouth curled slightly, "Then what if you want to have sex with me?"

Jane stared at him, swearing, "It's impossible!"

She will not allow history to repeat itself.

Observing her resolute expression, Damien smiled a little in the depths of his eyes.

"Fine!"

Jane felt like this man was deliberately teasing her, and she secretly gritted her teeth and asked, "So, when do you plan on divorcing me?"

Divorce before getting married?

He contemplated for a moment and replied, "Two years. I will divorce you in two years."

This period of time is neither lengthy nor brief, and she must come to terms with it. Will she depart from him after two years, though?

Jane affirmed, "Yes."

Damien gave her a glance, "In that case, I'll have the lawyer come over. If you have any conditions you want to add, we can discuss them then."

"Okay."

The lawyer arrived approximately ten minutes later.

This confirmed Jane's suspicion that Damien had come prepared.

Jane didn't want to add any conditions to the marriage contract, but Damien added several that were advantageous to her.

For instance, he would provide her with "pocket money" each month, which would assist her in launching her career.

However, there were also conditions that bound her at the same time.

For example, she must move in with him to his house, attend necessary events with him, and refrain from being too close to people of the opposite gender.

After signing the contract, Jane's hands trembled, and she was almost as nervous as when she signed her younger brother's surgery consent form.

"Let's go and get the certificate now." Damien capped his pen and gazed at Jane.

Jane's expression was a little rigid, and the corners of her mouth twitched, "I have to go back and retrieve the household registration book first."

"Alright, while you're at it, pack up anything you want to bring. But if you don't bring anything, it's no problem. I'll have someone take care of it."

"No need!" Jane grabbed the marriage contract and headed towards the door.

Damien watched her leave, then turned to his assistant Duke Grey, "Clean up and go to the young lady's house."

"Yes!" Duke nodded, quickly gathering the marriage contract on the table.

In reality, he still hadn't recovered.

His boss had just "married" himself off like that.

Furthermore, the girl's indifferent expression indicated that she was unwilling.

However, the girl appeared to be familiar.
