“Talk to me please…” His words ringed in her ears. She stared daggers at maids. Then she walked to the center between Jared and them.

“I did snap at them because they were asking me stupid questions when I asked for a lighter. But…” She looked at the one who insulted her, “She told me the bitter truth. She did not just stop there. She told me how I was not special and how I'll be sent packing soon. A useless and jobless whore.“
