Saving One Self

“Please do something attorney” Ida cried talking to her attorney who slightly shook his head.

“I don't think I have the power to do anything now with the way, this case is going. Before you joined the band you signed some documents right, the DN Girls made it known in the document that any property you own from your earnings would be taken back if you leave the DN Girls" He explained.

“I didn't sign any document of such, and I didn't quit…. Or wait, even if I did quit, I never signed any document with that shit!!” she half yelled, confused, with her head aching even more.

“You did, I have a copy of that here…" He said as he began searching his desk “Uhh here Miss Schaeffer” he handed her a document “It was delivered here this morning Ms. Schaeffer”.

“I…I don't remember signing this!” She was confused seeing her signature on the paper, 'Was yesterday not the first time they drugged her? Had they drugged her before? “I just can't stand this… They are evil, they drugged me”.

The attorney was confused “Then you would have to go tell the mass about what the girls had done, then you can find another band later on, I would hold a conference meeting for you to explain yourself”.

“Am not safe, I can't go out to the mass now, just because of something I don't know of!!” Ida stated.

“There will be tight security around you tomorrow, to hold down the people from trying to harm you, I think you should return home now before it is late Ms. Schaeffer, everything will be fine by tomorrow.”

'Home?' She questioned herself in her mind, 'Like she had one to go to' Her only home had been with the DN Girls.

Evening…

Ida stood in front of a door in a fairly built neighborhood, contemplating whether to knock or not.

Summoning up courage, she finally moved her hand, knocking gently on the door.

Knocking again and again, she finally heard the angry voice of a female, “Who the heck is there? Try breaking the door, and you will pay for it,” the voice complained even with Ida's gentle knocks on the door, before the door was finally pulled open.

“Aunty,” Ida called softly, looking up at the woman, who was stunned at first but burst into mocking laughter later on.

“Ida!! Is it you? I think I drank too much,” The woman said pushing back her hair which was covering her face, “The spoiled shameless brat now remembers she has an aunt… You wicked little brat, how dare you come back to this house? “ Her aunt stared at her with discontent and disgust in her eyes.

“Mummy is that Aunty Ida? “ Ida heard the tiny voice of her 7-year-old cousin, which she had missed a lot.

A little girl came running to the doorstep, and she made to hug Ida, who extended her hand to hug the girl, but the little girl was pushed back by her mom “Anybody who hugs this witch now would be cursed, do you want to be cursed baby?” She asked the little girl, who didn't answer.

“Go inside, and continue with your storybook,” Her aunty glared at the little girl before the girl ran off.

“So what are you doing here? Trying to spoil my face, so everyone would know am the aunty of a who….”.

“You have the right to call me names, but never call me that, I am in a tight spot now; you are the only family I have now, I would like to spend the night here until daybreak, I would pay for the night aunty,” Ida said, noticing how her aunt gaze softened a little.

'Just money, money would do anything for her aunt'.

Ida handed a small bag to her aunt who took it immediately, “That is the payment for tonight”.

“Fine, don't damage anything in my house, or you will pay more than this, and most important thing, stay away from my daughter until you find your way out tomorrow" Her aunt, Victoria warned, clutching the bag tightly.

“Fine!” Ida said weakly, tired of being questioned by her aunt, now she just needed a place to cry alone and then comfort herself again.

Ida walked past her aunt immediately, not able to hold the tears any longer. “Don't take anything from my kitchen without my permission” Her aunt shouted behind her, but she didn't reply, as she continued running on the staircase to the guest room.

On getting into the room, she burst into hot tears, she had tried not to let everything get to her, but now, not even the tears she was shedding could do anything to the way her heart ached.

Her hand raked through her platinum blonde hair, trying to get a hold of herself.

'Stay strong Ida, yes just stay strong, everything will be okay' She comforted herself, just like the day her parents had left her.

MORNING

With the help of make-up, she had covered the eye bag under her eyes, Ida tried to walk like her usual self in public as she got out of the car, but the noises from the press and every other person affected her.

The bodyguards her attorney had helped her with shielded her from the angry crowds, but not their words.

Finally, with the help of the guards, she got into the hall where she would have to prove herself not guilty of the rumors about her.

In this hall, it was simply her, her attorney, and a few presses who were here to question her.

Her attorney handed her a mic, which she took with nervousness “Ida, there has been a lot of bad news flying around about you since yesterday, and we would like you to tell us if it is true?” One of the presses asked, and she nodded slightly with a weak smile.

“About the man we saw in the picture with you, was it true you had something with him” The press asked.

“Yes, let's be straight, I think I did” Ida had decided to be real today and not fake anything.

“uhh, would you like to explain to everyone who he is to you,”

“He is someone I don't know,” she said, seeing the wonderment in the eyes of the press.
