Surprise

"Maa" I said looking her back.

"Anika" she said turning around looking at me with grin on her face 

"When? How?" I ask dumbfounded.

"Mrs Singh told me about you and She is also there in one of the room. I wanted to be in your graduation ceremony but there was little difficulty to leave house on time" she said.

"How's papa" I asked tear in my eyes looking at her she changed a lot and also so thin and wrinkles on her face.

" He is good" she said.

"Did he allowe you" I asked.

"No, He doesn't know I'm here according him I went for char dham yatra (Holy place to visit) with my brother.

"You lied to him" I asked no no I almost yelled at her.

"Yes I missed you alot. I want to see you before die" She said and started crying.

"Why are you saying this" I asked.

"I have Cancer" she said dropping bomb on me.

"How" I hugged her crying on her shoulder.

"We can treat it here, Here is good hospital" I said.

"I am on last stage no one can treat. I have few days left and I want to spend sometime with you" She said 

"I am so hungry" Mrs Singh said coming to kitchen.

"Thank you so much Ma'am" I said hugging her.

"It will be please when I eat my launch" she said and we laughed.

"Let's me help you mummy" I said and we served food on dinning table.

"Mummy, She is Angela. My baby sister" I said giving kheer(sweet) to Angela.

"What is this" Angela asked.

"It's sweet" I said.

"I know her I talked her on call" Mummy told me and I glared angela with questioning eye.

"I wanted to surprise you and for that I asked Mrs Singh to help me" she said nervously.

"Don't scold her Anika" My mummy said giving me puri (made by wheat).

" We will stay here for one week" Mrs Singh said looking me.

"I will ask for leave" I said with smile looking at my mummy.

"I will also want leave and stay with you all" Angel said looking at me.

"No" I said.

"Aunt tell her to let me apply leave at school" Angela said with pleading eyes to my mummy.

"Anika let her stay with us. We are here for one week only" mummy said.

"Did you understand what she said" Mrs Singh asked.

"Yes, My father was teacher so I also studied till seven and after I got married and you know after my life" my mummy said with small smile.

" That's why you always wanted me to complete my study" I said looking at mummy.

"Yes, Now I want all happy memories in my last days of life" she said tear in her eyes.

"Tomorrow we are going to hospital for checkup" I said taking dishes from the table.

"Don't waste money Anika" Mummy said helping me.

"Please don't say like that" I said and my cellphone started ringing.

"Whose calling" I yelled at kitchen.

"It's Paul" Angela yelled back coming to me with my phone.

"I am coming" I said mummy taking my call from Angela.

"Hello" I said 

"I am sorry for todays" Paul said and as per his voice I know he is guilty.

"It's ok you were busy" I said looking my mummy and agela talking.

"I know I promised you but I had work you know my condition. I need to help my family" he said 

"It's ok. I know" I said and heard some girl voice from behind.

"Is there someone with you" I asked suspiciously.

"It's my sister, I will call you back" he said.

"My mummy is here I want you meet her so make time " I said 

"I will try" he said and cut the call.

" Who is Paul" Angela asked.

"That guy working in library" I said.

"Yes, I remembered" She said.

"So when are you planning to meet him with us" she said looking at my mummy and Mrs Singh.

"Soon" I said taking my PJs from closet.

"Mrs Singh will stay at guest room and you mummy want to stay with you so I put all her belongings here" Angela infromed.

"Thanks I love your suprise" I said hugging her.

"I know" she said with giggle.

"You can apply for leave but only for three days, So it's on you when you want" I said looking her

"oOk thanks will take my leave for end of the week" she said and left my room.

I changed in my PJ and opened my laptop for looking for tomorrows appointments for my mummy.

"It's liver cancer and can't be cure" My mummy said looking at my laptop.

"Atleast let me try" I said.

"Ok as you want Anika" Mummy said.

"Mummy, expenses were high to come here from india, How did you manage? I asked.

"I sold my jewellery" She said looking at my shock expression and continue said " I told your father that I lost it somewhere I didn't know, He didn't say anything because he know I can't saty with him for more time.He has changed after knowing my Cancer. He didn't tell me what he is thinking but I know the way he care for me he loves me but he didn't want to tell me because of his male ego".

"Did he miss me" I asked.

"I don't want to lie but he never talk about you once you left our house" She said squeezing my hand.

"How's is bhaiya(brother)" I asked

"He is good and get married last year after that we found out I got diagnosis with cancer because I got faint during the ritual.

"I wil show you pictures. I have carried with me" she said opening her beg.

"She is pretty" I said looking couples photos.

"Yes, She is also good girl" My mummy said.

"They stay in mumbai and soon you going to be buaa(Aunty) she said.

"Amazing" I said

"Is he Angery with me" I asked.

"I don't know when you left he never talk about you like his father. So I don't know" she said looking at me.

"I miss you all" I said and hugged her.

"Don't cry, I Missed you too" Mummy said.

I slept in her laps whole night. I sleep peacefully after a years with my mother and I was happy and sad at same time.
