Decision

"Anika get ready fast" I mother yelled at me while running here and there to see all engagement arrangement is proper.

I get ready with the help of beautician and I saw my self in mirror.

"You look beautiful" one of the beautician told me and I nodded.

"I was looking beautiful but my eyes showing how much I am upset with all this arrangement.

I remembered the day when I returned back to college because of my father ordered to back home.

Flashback.

"Why did you called your uncle" he yelled at me once I reached at home.

*Answer me now" he again yelled.

"I wanted to speak with uncle" I said with trembling voice.

"What you think of yourself, If you convience him to go for further studies and I agree with him so let me tell you You. Are. Totally. Wrong". He almost shouted gritted his theeth at me. It feel like whole our house echo his words.

"Uma tomorrow is her engagement get her ready on time and Siddharth is not coming and he is not agree with all arrangements but I don't care. He doesn't have daughter, He doesn't have to pay dowry, He doesn't have to knee in front of someone just because you have daughter. We have to do all these things.If Sidharth think if doesn't come and I will cancel it so he is living in dream" he yelled at my mother and left.

"Why did you called your chacha (uncle)beta" my mom asked me.

"Mummy I want to study" I said and started sobbing.

"Our life is to get marry and carry babies to give ourselves to our husband and house" my mom said.

"You have to understand this Anika, denying your father's order only make thing mess, Please don't do that" she said with pleading eyes.

"Raj is also coming tomorrow and I don't want any mess so make sure don't create more dramas" my mother said in rude tone and left in living area.

I am only daughter of them and in my whole family. My brother stay in mumbai for his master's in engineering and he is also working there. They have allowed him everything. But because of I'm a girl they can't allow me to study further.

FLASHBACK END

Rohan's family have reached" Prachi my cousin sister yelled coming to my room.

"Let's see what uncle have choosen for her" my all cousin said and leaving me alone to see my soon to be fiance.

"Anika let's go" my mother said helping me to stand up with heavy lahnga I was wearing covering my face and I was unable to see anything only floor was there for me to see.

"Let's start the Ritual" My father said when I reached living room.

"Rohan and I are exchanged ring and he squeezed my hand while wearing ring and I snapped backed my hand from his hold".

"Now Anika is your" my father said to Rohan like I am just an object to him.

"Yes uncle" he said 

"Having a daughter is one of the biggest burden in this world Sanjay ji" he said to Rohan father.

"You are right Shrikant ji" he replied

"Let's take Anika inside" My father said and started to talk with Rohan's Father regards marriage arrangements.

"When I back my room I started to open my ruppta's pin and I heard voice of door closing looking back I found Rohan there with smirked on his face.

"What are you doing here" I asked adjusting my ruppta.

"Meeting my fiance" he said coming to me.

"Get out" I almost yelled at him.

"Don't show me attitude" he yelled back.

"I am your going to be husband, respect me otherwise you one what will happened to you" he said in warning tone.

" Going to be husband, you are not my husband yet so just GET. OUT. " I yelled at him. I was hell frustrated with all these and he is here in my room creating more problems.

"I will see how can you get me out of you once we get married" he said with smirked and left.

"Pervert" I said and close the room once he left 

The first thing I did I called the Mrs Singh.

"Hello ma'am" I said when she picked my call.

"Hello Anika, Have you decided?" she asked.

"Yes ma'am, I am ready to go" I said taking deep breath.

"Nice , I will start arrangements" she said and cut the call.

"Are you ready" Mrs Singh asked me when I was going to write my last exam.

"Yes ma'am"I said in low voice.

"Don't worry for anything Anika. They will forgive you once you become and successful in your career" she said and went for the other classroom.

"I have to do that for myself" I said to myself and entered the exam hall.

After three hours of exam, I left classroom and started to go out of the college.

"Hey Anika" Niharika yelled my name and coming to me.

"Where are you going Bhabhi(sister in law)" she said with smirked.

"Hi, I need to go will talk to you later" I said to her and started walking again.

"I know Rohan is waiting for you at gate" she said again and I halt my place.

"What" I asked with confusion.

"Don't say you don't know he is going with you for your wedding shopping" she said glaring at me.

"No, I know it" I said nervously.

"I need to go washroom" I excused myself and went to girls washroom.

"Ma'am, My fiance is waiting for me at college entrance gate" I messaged to Mrs. singh.

"Wait for me at parking lot, I am coming" she replied me back within few minutes.

I went to parking lot under the College and waited for ma'am within tem minutes ma'am came.

"Sit in the car, I will drop you at airport" she said dragging me at her car.

"Ma'am you drive car" I asked with schoked. I have never seen her driving car.

"Your luck is with you Anika" I brought my car today because I was planning to go and meet my parents. they live in Mirzapur.

Thanks ma'am" I said and my cellphone started ringing. It was Rohan who called me.

"Switch off your cellphone Anika, Take this your new sim card. I had brought for you, Thank god I remembered" she said giving me new sim card. I switched off my cellphone removing sim card. I entered new sim card.

"I have already have this number, I will call you" she said Turing her car to Airport. 

"Thank you so much ma'am, You done so much for me" I said tear in my eyes.

"Don't say thanks Anika, I did it for me. I can't allow myself to seat here and see you wasting your life. I don't want to see repeating history itself". She said.

"What had happened with you ma'am" I asked 

"it's long story but I can tell you for now on. I was domestic abused after my first marriage and this is my second marriage by my choice because I fallen in love with my husband.Same like you I wanted to study but my parents not allowed and after marriage my ex husband started abused me daily sometimes for dowry and sometimes for heir" she said tear in her eyes.

"Sorry ma'am" I said.

"It's ok, Achieve your dreams. I just want from you" she said and smiled looking at me.

We reached airport and she hugged and said " Don't worry about anything, Whenever you need just called me".

"You have all your documents with you" she asked again while going with me to entrance of airport.

"Yes" I said.

"Take this card and convert the currency when you reached California" she said handing me a Debit card.

"Ma'am you have already done so much for me. I can't take it ma'am" I said.

"Bewkuf ho tum (you are an idiot) " she said putting card in my plam.

"Return it to me when you earned your first salary after your masters" she said.

I hugged her and cried on her shoulder. she patted my shoulder and said "Don'tn't cry just go live your dream".

Varansi at Anika Place

"Where the hell is she" Anika father yelled at her mother who was holding Anika latter in her hand.

"I don't know, I got this in her dressing drawers where she put all her important documents" her mother said in trembling voice.

"It's all your fault, you didn't teach her how to be a good women" Anika father yelled again with red eyes.

"From now on we don't have any daughter and Anika is dead for us" Anika father said while pouring a whole jar on him.

"I have done her last ritual as living thing" he declared and left and her mother started crying.

At Airport

I bid my goodbye to Mrs Singh and started walking towards entrance of airport.

"Flights from Varansi to USA."

Pre-boarding Announcement

"Good afternoon passengers. ... We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready. Regular boarding will begin in approximately ten minutes."

I sat on flights and waited for flights to take off. Once flights take off. I looked out of the window seeing india one last time. I don't know when I will be back again. I started crying while remembering my last latter for my parents.

Flashback

Dear Mummy and Papa, 

I am sorry for doing this but I can't get marry now. I want to go for higher studies and I am going. Sorry I can't tell you where I am going and when I will be return but I promise when I come back you both will be proud of me.

I am sorry Papa. I know you don't want me go for higher studies but I want to achieve my dreams Papa.

Flashback End

A tear escaped from my eyes and pictures flashed of my family in my back of mind I know they will angry at me but I didn't have any option with me. I need to strong for myself. I was internally motivate me in whole flights. I wished every will be good once I complete my masters But I didn't know that this foreign land will going to break in million ways.
