The young doctor sighed for a moment before replying, "Your baby has a very high fever caused by an upper respiratory infection. We have administered fever-reducing drugs and antibiotics through the IV to treat the infection."

"Then is he okay, Doc?" this time it was Gama who asked in a worried tone. Her hands clasped Sierra's fingers tightly, trying to calm her wife.

"Right now we're still monitoring her progress. Fever can be dangerous for a baby her age. But with the right treatment, I'm sure she'll be fine," the doctor tried to reassure the couple who were clearly worried about their little one.

Sierra and Gama looked at each other with relieved faces although there was still a glimmer of worry there. Sierra then turned to Audie who was behind her.

"Mom, please pray for the best for your grandchild," Sierra pleaded in a soft voice. Audie nodded and hugged her daughter-in-law, trying to give her strength.
