Fifty two: Defense

Jace sat on his mom's bed, staring at her sleeping body and holding her hands in his. "When will she be fine?" He asked the middle aged doctor who did some things to her skin. 

"She's fine right now." The doctor told him. "All that's needed is for her to regain consciousness. She's suffering from shock, and she has an injury in her head. It's an internal injury. But thank God it wasn't too late before she was brought to the hospital. If she came here later, there's a probability that she could have lost her life."

I turned to Jace who fretted more and ran his hands through his hair. "This is really bad. Are you sure she won't be affected anymore?"

The doctor smiled at him. "I'm very sure. There's no need for you to worry at all. She'll be completely fine."

"Alright. Thanks." He said to the doctor. 

The doctor stopped doing whatever he was doing, and set his gaze at Jace
