“Come, run faster; you are the predators, not the prey.”

Kieran’s voice booms loudly on the pack training grounds, and the wolves in their human forms run faster at the sound of his voice.

Seth jogs behind, the sun beating down on them harshly, with sweat beading on their faces and their pants getting heavier and heavier with each passing second, and the sun seems to get even harsher to the point even supernatural creatures can’t bear the heat, but Kieran’s commands don’t stop; they only thunder. Seth scoffs, whatever got his pants in a twist.

He glances toward the front, where Kieran is pacing alongside the lead runners, his expression hard, jaw clenched like he’s trying to crush whatever’s eating at him.

It doesn’t take a genius to know something’s off, but the loud orders come to a stop when someone trips over his feet and Kieran orders everyone to stop, and they dramatically drop to the grass with loud thuds and cursing under their breath at the brutal training.
