“Don’t worry, Kacie... he’s coming for you. We’ll make sure you’re safe. And when he does… every soul that ever hurt you will pay. They will tremble at the sound of your voice and kneel at your feet." My lips trembled as I forced the words out, barely more than a whisper. “Who is he? Will I… will I truly be safe with him?” Kacie Brooks has spent years in captivity, enduring torturous experiments by human scientists who are desperate to unlock the secrets of her kind–werewolves. When she's finally rescued by Alpha Theonardo, a possessive and fiercely protective Alpha who turns out to be her fated mate, freedom now feels almost as terrifying as the cage she left behind. Kacie learned how to live again–to trust, to heal, and to find her place in a new pack filled with strangers. But danger isn’t far from her. The scientists are far from finished, this time, they’ve formed a deadly alliance with a powerful witch who’s out for revenge against the werewolves.

Another day in hell ~

‎Bite Me, My Fated Alpha King

‎ ~Chapter one

‎ "Aghh wwww, my butt hurts. No, my whole body’s on fire."

‎ I pulled my knees to my chest as I laid my head against the glass behind me, my mid-length golden blonde hair wet from my sweat after hours of endless torture, my body was physically exhausted, I've reached my breaking point.

‎ "Okay, she's had enough for one day. We can continue this tomorrow," spoke Emilia from behind the glass in front of me. She scribbled something down on her clipboard before setting it on the large metal desk in front of her, popping her pen back into her lab coat pocket.

‎ Panting heavily, I glared at the lab scientists who stood before me, watching and analysing me as if I was some sort of specimen.

‎ To them, I was, though. I didn't know exactly how many days I had been trapped behind the glass, being constantly poked and prodded by the humans. They were desperate to learn more about my kind, and I had heard them mention my age several times.

‎ "She's a werewolf, she'll heal quickly. We can run at least one more test on her," spat Lucas, as he made his way up the steps, standing at the door of my glass incubation pod.

‎ "No," I mumbled, wiping my soggy hair out of my face, scrambling away until I was sitting on the opposite side of my glass pod to the bald man who had opened the door and was now approaching me.

‎ "Stop it, you're scaring her," screamed a young woman from the corner of the room, her face filled with discomfort as she watched my shaking form flinch away from the lab scientist in front of me.

‎ "Right, Camila, don't start. You're just an intern, so I suggest you keep quiet if you want to keep this job!" replied the man in front of me, shooting the young female a warning glare.

‎ "Think about how frightened everyone would be if these creatures were still out roaming the streets! They aren't human! You must disassociate yourself from them."

‎ Camila cleared her throat awkwardly, looking deeply into my dark brown eyes, sighing heavily. "Surely you don't think you've got them all?

‎ There are bound to be more, probably right under your nose." Lucas rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "Yes, and that is why we are conducting research on the ones we have captured, until it is easy to pick them out from the humans. Then we can put an end to their abomination of a race! They are not normal, and don't deserve a place on earth!"

‎ "Is there no way we could do this a little more humanely? These creatures are suffering," spoke Camila, causing all of the lab scientists in the room to shake their heads. They murmured between themselves, looking at the new intern with dismay.

‎ I have never seen her before, so I gathered that she was new, but I appreciated her efforts to reason with the lab scientists. However, I knew that there was no point. I had given up trying to reason with them years ago after they ignored my constant begging and pleading- eventually just becoming a broken shell of my former self who rarely spoke or showed emotion.

‎ "If you can't stand what is about to happen, then I suggest you leave, Miss Camila, because with this attitude, you will not last very long in this profession," Emilia replied, her voice laced with spite.

‎ "Remember, you've signed a non-disclosure agreement, so none of this can be spoken about outside of this building."

‎ Camila nodded once, sighing before gesturing towards the isolation chamber and towards my large incubation pod, regretfully urging the lab scientists to continue. I gazed up at Lucas in front of me as he slowly approached me, his hands held up defensively.

‎ "Careful, Lucas," whispered another lab scientist warningly, causing me to sigh to myself. They knew I was far too weak to fight back, and even if I was physically strong enough, I was broken. I didn't see the point in fighting anymore.

‎ When I first arrived, I would constantly fight them off, almost killing a few lab scientists, but after years of constant testing, they discovered my weakness.

‎ They were so happy that they poured themselves a few glasses of champagne to celebrate. All my hopes of getting out of here dissipated, along with my spirit.

‎ I would be pinned down and injected with small amounts of silver each day to keep me weak and unable to fight, but not enough to kill me or leave me severely injured. It burned me from inside out and felt as if my muscles were being ripped apart slowly.

‎ "Tell us how you heal so quickly," demanded Dr. Lucas, glaring down at me with pure hatred. I remained quiet, refusing to make eye contact with him, because I wasn't sure of what he expected me to say. I was a werewolf, and that's my nature. There was no particular secret as to why I healed fast.

‎ "Tell us, you fool or else I'll end you life right now!" His oud voice echoed in the glass pod, causing my ears to ring slightly.

‎ Dr. Lucas crouched down in front of me, pulling a small scalpel from his pocket, grabbing my arm and yanking it towards him, causing me to whimper in pain.

‎ "Emilia, ready with the timer?" asked Lucas with, his eye balls lingering on my already scarred wrist as he pressed the scalpel into my arm. He slashed my skin open before quickly backing off and slamming the door behind him, running over to join the other lab scientists. I hissed in pain as I watched my scarlet coloured blood trickle down my arm, pooling underneath me on the floor.

‎ "Hmm, it's taking a little longer this time," spoke a lab scientist, watching me intently with narrowed eyes. I clutched my wrist to my chest, squeezing my eyes shut, trying to hold back my tears, but eventually, I let them fall.

‎ I sobbed at the back of my chamber, feeling the pain start to subside as my skin knitted itself back together slowly.

‎ "Okay, that was fifty-eight seconds," said Emilia as she scribbled down some notes on her clipboard again.

‎ "A normal, healthy werewolf would heal a lot quicker than that, but she's taking longer to heal each time we conduct this experiment." Lucas scratched at his stubbly chin, shaking his head. "She's getting weaker. Let's up her meals to two a day for the next few days and see if that changes anything. I want this information to be as accurate as possible.”

‎ I watched as the bunch of lab scientists quickly left the room, switching off the main light as they closed the door, plunging me into darkness. I was fully alone, in the dark during the night, when it all started to sink in. I remember going to bed at the age of fifteen. Nothing had seemed out of the ordinary.

‎ However, when I awoke, I found myself trapped in my large incubation pod in the isolation chamber, being gawked at by multiple humans in long white coats, recording me with tiny video cameras. I had been subjected to years of torturous tests, confused as to why they saw me as such a monster when I was just a scared young girl. I didn't want to cause anyone any harm. I was now what I believed to be twenty, and although I never got used to the pain, it was now like a daily routine for me. I am forced to got use to it.

‎ I knew that I would be subjected to it until the day they decided they had enough information, and it was time to kill me, which I was actually looking forward to.

‎ It would be a privilege to escape this so called life of mine, knowing that anybody that was once searching for me had most likely given up now, and I was probably presumed dead.

‎ Suddenly, my eyes snapped open as the sound of the large bolted door creeping open echoed through the room, causing me to shake, wondering if the lab scientists had decided to return and conduct even more torturous experiments. I peered through the darkness, furrowing my brows to see Camila making her way over to me, shaking her head at me to remain quiet when I quickly opened my mouth to speak.

‎I peered through the darkness, furrowing my brows to see Camila making her way over to me. She shook her head when I opened my mouth to speak, pressing a finger to her lips.

‎“Shh,” she whispered. “You can’t make any noise. They’ll hear you.”

‎She glanced nervously over her shoulder before moving away from my pod. I watched as she reached for one of the lab units near the wall, opening it gently to not make a sound and removing a small glass test tube filled with an unfamiliar substance. She slipped it into the pocket of her coat so quickly that I barely saw it.

‎Turning back to me, her eyes were filled with so much guilt.

‎“I’m sorry,” she murmured softly. “I’m so sorry this is happening to you.”

‎Before I could respond, she turned and hurried out of the room, quietly shutting the door behind her.
