~Scarlett's POV~

It's been three days since I had lost the last hold I ever had on anything.

Since that beast had taken me, Kidnapped me, and since my own body had betrayed me in the worst possible way.

I had been in this room since. His cologne, so lovely as it was clung to the silk sheet and my skin, which reminded me that I was his. I wanted to rip it off. Strip it from my body. Destroy all traces of him.

But I couldn't.

I glared at myself in the glare of the mirror, my eyes piercing the mate mark, it was Something that I didn't want to believe. Something that made me sick. Something that, to everybody else, had been lovely but to me, I felt disgusted!

I felt a roiling anger in my stomach, dense and choking. “Why did I like it? Why had my body responded to the murderer of my people, the slayer of my family, the destroyer of my home?” This was the question I kept asking myself.

I clenched my fist and it pierced my palms, “ I betrayed them.” I muttered hatefully. Then I heard the sound of knocking but the person didn’t come in, I only heard the sound of plates being dropped.

I had eaten barely for the past three days though they kept dropping my meals there. I won’t deny that I had wished I could die. I wanted to be with my people and family but then I woke up from a nightmare this morning. I saw my Omegas, the ones who hadn't died on the battlefield. They were about to be sold, Bound at the wrists with empty eyes.

I had woken up with fear but then I realized something—They were still here.

The Omegas. They were suffering, and I had done nothing.

I clenched my teeth and felt my energy coming back, I can’t continue like this! I am their last hope!

I ate the cold, congealed food off the tray, choking me to get it down. The food didn't taste like anything, not even something that tasted bad, but it was unpleasant and I didn't care. I had to stay strong. I was not going to die in this room and make my people suffer.

I went to take my bath after eating, then came out to look for clothes to wear. I dug into the closet and pulled out a simple, black dress. Loose, flowing, somber. I had no jewelry. Nothing, just plain.

Why should I dress up when I was still grieving, besides, I am not the princess of my pack anymore but a prisoner and also the hope for my people!

I exited the room, the floor softly luminescent beneath my bare feet.

These palace bedrooms were not usual, but I didn't care where I was going. I strode purposefully, though I had no destination. Then I saw an Omega maid with a tea tray.

I narrowed my eyes as I focused on her and the moment she glanced at me, she froze like a statue, trembling with terror, as she quickly bowed her head. I could see she was terrified of me.

Good.

I took a step towards her, my voice hardening. "Where is your Alpha?!”

She stepped back, with her frantic eyes scanning for an escape.

I furrowed my brows and pressed my lips together. "I said something."

She looked startled at my voice then She hesitated, her white-knuckled grip on the tray. "I don't—"

I moved closer to her, and she tensed as if holding her breath.

I interrupted, "Where? Is. He?" I snarled cold and hard.

Panic flickered in her eyes. Then shivering and whispering, she spoke, "The… the grand hall. The Alpha is in the grand hall."

I glared at her for what felt like forever. And then I commanded, "Go there."

She turned pale but she pushed on ahead.

I followed behind her, my body coiled to strike, my expression stern. But deep within, in my heart, I was filled with nervousness.

The Main Hall—

The room was large, ceremonial, gold and velvet-shattered. Wood smoke and good wine hung in the air.

Draco sat at the head of a black wooden table, three men were seated before him and their heads together as they whispered.

Ignored the omega who had stopped walking and badged in. The room was heavy with silence immediately I walked in. Draco's eyes clashed with mine and his dark eyes flashed.

His face looked Cold and Emotionless As if he had already forgotten what he had done to me three nights ago.

The Alphas standing around him widened their eyes together, gasping as one. I knew they were thinking I was a concubine, A war prize and I should not be here but I didn't care.

I didn't even glance at their faces. I didn't even glance at anything but him.

Then Draco's head was slanted to one side, the curves of his mouth twisted into a half-smile. "You look." His black eyes surveyed my dull black dress, my face, my cold-hard face. And then he smirks. "Plain."

I glared at him, I bunched up my fists. Oh how much I hate him..,

He waved his hand, and his men stood up, and they quietly left after that so the two of us were alone.

As soon as the door closed behind them, I was on his face.

"You did whatever you pleased," I spat at him with bitter anger. "You killed my people, My family. You destroyed me and shamed me. So now, you owe me." I said with a straight face.

His brow leaped up in shock, his mouth corner twisted into a sneer. "Do I?”

I moved closer, teeth clenched. "You are not selling my Omegas." Venom dripped from my voice. "You will keep them where I can keep an eye on them," I said with a cold voice.

He paused for a moment. Then—

Laughter.

A dark, sneering one that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

I pulsed my lips as Blind rage seethed inside me. My aura fell and I felt bitter and angry.

Draco's expression became calm, The sneer was gone from his mouth and his face was contorted into something ugly. He stood up from his chair, his lean tall frame looming over me.

His eyes were cold as he said, "Did you remember that you are my woman? You are just a concubine. One of my females and I can do anything to you," he sneered.

I was stunned for a moment, and then I suddenly let out a weird laugh, "Then I will bury people." My voice was dropping, danger-close. "I'll poison your Omegas. I'll destabilize your pack. And when I'm done." I hesitated for a heartbeat. "I'll kill myself."

Silence.

That was what was left in the room. We both glared at each other and even when I felt so nervous, I didn’t back down, and then we heard a voice—

"Ah! Is the Alpha's new maid here? Why are you not on the ground, on your knees?"

HANNA’S POVThe three of us watched Scarlett and Alpha Draco as they rode right into the pack. I couldn’t even hold back my smile. Everything was in place. And I just couldn’t wait for them to spend two more days somewhere that I couldn’t see them. I didn’t know what spell Scarlett might have gone there to cast. Because trust me, there was nothing special in whatever she was doing. All she did was say a few pretty words. Alpha Draco wasn’t supposed to make her so important. But still, he was. He was supposed to pay attention to all of us. Something at the back of my head reminded me that we weren’t concubines anymore. She was the only one. That was the only position she could ever be in. And we were still about to push her away from the whole thing. There wasn’t even one bit of pity in me towards her. And I didn’t even care. “Do you think the drama will happen now?” Lirah asked, unable to stay in a place. I stood back, watching the worried look on Alpha Draco’s face. He didn’t have

SCARLETT’S POVWe had barely gotten up the stairs when Draco had started kissing me. It was almost like he couldn’t wait to peel the clothes off me. I held myself back from moaning out loud. But I knew Draco well enough. He practically wanted the whole palace to know that we were in the room, having sex. He was that ruthless and dominant. But there was something different about the way he even took me. There was something that seemed soft. There was some sort of care involved. “Be a good girl, and I might even make you my Luna tonight.” He said, and I smirked. “I’m not going to be doing anything because of the position, but you have been good.”I slowly pushed him by the shoulder, making him lay down on the bed. I didn’t care who was going to come looking for us. I was going to make this quick. I wanted to have all of him in a place that wasn’t at the pack. We were going back to the pack in two days anyway. And there was no time that could be better than this. “Do I have the permi

DRACO'S POV“There’s something different about her,” I said, and Roman smiled. It was the first time that I was bringing anyone to his pack. And his mate was more than happy. I could tell through the way she was even taking Scarlett around, and showing her everything that the pack had. Scarlett was more than happy as well. It was the first time that I had taken her away from the pack. Ever since I killed her pack members and took her as mine, she had never walked outside the pack. And now, I was giving her some kind of freedom. Even privileges that I had never given any of my concubines. It was no wonder they were all jealous of her. “It's obvious,” Roman said, as he took a sip of his wine. “The way you look at her. The way you held her, proud to show her off. I could tell.”“She's not as submissive as the other concubines. She wants her own life. She wants to create a space for herself. And she managed to create one.”“Well then, you should get her ready to the pack ball tonight. I

Hanna’s PovLirah had suggested that we asked Mark to put the letters in the room as we headed there. But I knew Mark all too well. He wouldn’t hesitate to tell Draco the truth if it meant that he would be promoted. “Nika should have been here,” she whispered, and I scoffed. “Nika is busy getting fucked by Elias. We might as well forge ahead with the plan.”Lirah was starting look unsure as well. Was I the only one that was sensible amongst these concubines. Of course. It was no wonder that I was a favorite. I was the smartest among them all. That was what Draco saw in me. “But you were not smart enough for him to start taking you on rides with his horse.” A voice in my head said, but I quickly pushed the thought away from my mind. That only strengthened my resolve to get the whole thing done with. All we had to do was plant the letters in the right places, and allow the backup plans handle the rest. The both of us peeked into the room, surprised to see the doors open. “Did they
