“Woman, what are you still doing in my house?” Williams asked through gritted teeth as he let go of his girlfriend's hand.

He was pointing at her with his index finger and a frown face as though he wanted to slap Hailey.

Williams has black sleek hair resembling the prevailing darkness, the thunderous coarse voice of his displayed chilling nonchalant nature. His silvery eyes, which glanced at people like a dagger, with a soul-eating stare that each time it pierced the air.

“I'm in my house and I see no reason you should ask me that question.” Hailey courageously fired back at him.

Williams took a few steps towards Hailey as he clenched his fist furiously. He stood an inch away from her as they glared at each other.

“If I can remember, this is my house and not yours, Hailey,” said Williams as he continued to clench his fist angrily.

“Well, we built this house together,” she responded with her arms crossed over her chest defensively. “ Secondly, anything that belongs to my husband is mine.”

“Shut up, Hailey!” he smacked and she quivered. “ I'm no longer your husband. Didn't you read what's in your hand? I believe that my message was given to you.” he added.

“Wait, Williams.” the lady he came with cut in. “ Why should you marry this gold digger in my absence? What good were you thinking would come out of her?” she cursed out.

This made Hailey's blood boil.

“You are insane for saying that.” Hailey fights back to defend herself.

However, she attempted to approach the lady and punch her in the face, but Williams restricted her from doing that.

The lady rolled her eyes and hissed before folding her arms above her chest.

Williams turned around and faced the lady and said to her, “ Hazel, you don't have to bother much about her. We are divorced and there's no way she can harm you. If she tried anything stupid, she would be sent to jail within minutes.” he assured the lady and she smiled.

“There is no way a strange woman would come and snatch my husband away, and I would be silent. Never can that happen,” Hailey smirked.

“Then do your worst, woman.” said Hazel.“ Let me inform you that this man you are claiming as your husband was my fiancé who you snatched away from me.” she snapped.

Hailey became angrier as she glared at Hazel.

“You would regret stepping your feet into this house!” Hailey grimaced at Hazel.

“Shut up, you barren woman!” Williams yelled at Hailey with skeptical brows.

“What!” Hailey mouthed in astonishment. “ How would you say such a thing to me, Williams? Is it my fault that I'm fruitless?” tears trickled down her cheeks as she spoke.

“How is that supposed to be my concern if it isn't your fault? Do I know if it is because of the prostitution life that made you barren? Huh?”

As soon as he said that, Hailey felt like she was stabbed with a knife in her back. Making her heart shred into pieces.

Hailey couldn't say a word as they kept staring at each other with Williams, who was fuming in anger.

She was so weak that she could no longer hold the divorce paper in her hand, which resulted in it falling to the floor.

It was as if her husband was charmed by this lady who came home with him. If not that, then why did he suddenly change overnight?

“T-this is not the man I married.” she managed and spoke as tears continued dripping down her cheeks.

“Wow!” Williams gasped and jested at her.“ I'm glad that you discovered that this is not the husband you married. So, go out there and look for him because this is my house.”

Hailey shook her head as she bit her upper lip, trying not to overreact to the whole situation.

“What have I done wrong to deserve this, Williams? I never knew you were this heartless and ungrateful. Despite what I have done to you, this is how you decide to pay me back.” she scoffed at him.

Williams furrowed his brows at her. He wished to punch and kick her out, so she could understand that he didn't want to see her face again.

“I should have listened to my parents when they warned me to stay away from you. I was so foolish to allow your fake love for me to blindfold my eyes. I hate you, Williams. You are a disgrace to humanity. People like you aren't supposed to exist. I just hate everything about you…”

“Enough of this rubbish, Hailey!” he cut into her words. “ Who could have married a lady like you? You should be thanking me for marrying a careless, disobedient, and barren woman like you.” he cursed.

This creates a bitter gall in her throat. Hailey tried to suppress her anger, so she wouldn't end up doing something stupid.

She felt like taking a knife and stab at Williams countless times until she was satisfied.

He was an ingrate!

“If not a fool, how would you disobey your parents just to marry a man who thousands of ladies chase after him?” he praised himself even though it was a lie.

Hailey nodded and wiped off the tears on her cheeks with the back of her hand as she sniffed.

“I see,” she muttered.“ Indeed, I was a fool to disobey my parents. I should blame myself for whatever comes my way.” Hailey spoke with a chuckle.

There was a visible smile on her face, but it wasn't genuine because her heart was on fire.

“Take your luggage and leave my house before I get mad at you.” he seriously warned her.

He turned around and grabbed Hazel by the hand and pulled her upstairs, leaving Hailey standing there with a sad expression.

Hailey fought the urge to ignore the whole thing, but it was unbearable. She was yet to believe the entire thing.

How can someone who she helped and tirelessly worked to secure a job for him divorce her and bring another woman into the house?

“No! This lady needs to leave my house at this moment or there would be war between us. I can't just allow her to take away what is mine.” Hailey mumbled and went after them.

Hailey stood silent for a long time, pondering what to tell Williams, so he could free her. They gazed at each other and remained in that position for what seemed like ages as the atmosphere became suffocated for Hailey.“Are you serious about what you are saying?” she finally asked with a low voice, her eyes wide open with astonishment.“Of course, yes. Do I appear like someone who is joking? I guess I'm not dressing like a joker, Hailey.” he smirked. She shook her head and said, “You must be kidding me, Williams. Here are the keys, take them, so I can move out of this place. I have forgiven you for breaking my heart into a thousand pieces. But just because I forgave you doesn't mean I will accept you back as my husband. I don't need any man in my life again, no matter how wealthy the man is. You betrayed me, Williams.”“Come on, Hailey. No one is above mistakes. We all make mistakes, so please take that as a mistake. Or are you trying

After a week of looking after her ex-husband in the hospital, Williams was discharged when the medical doctor was convinced that his health level had improved.Using her car, Hailey asked her chauffeur to drive Williams to the apartment he rented. Just as they halted in front of the apartment, a lady approached them after she spotted him coming out as he was helped by one of Hailey's two guards.Although she knew that her life was in danger, she didn't go out with her convoy, rather, she asked only two of her guards to follow her. Her chauffeur and the head guard.“Good day, madam,” the lady greeted Hailey with a friendly smile.“Good day, and how are you doing?” Hailey responded as she tried to think if she knew her somewhere, but she couldn't recall seeing such a face before.Upon seeing that Hailey was pondering more than she should, the lady said, “My name is Ariana, and I'm Williams's neighbor. It has been a while since I last saw him, that's why I'm here to see him, madam.”“Ohh,

Nancy couldn't tell whether she should smile or not. She couldn't believe that the Derrick she knew in her childhood was the same Derrick she had been mingling with for a long time without noticing it.Conversely, Derrick was also lost in thoughts as he wondered if what his Mom said was true.Within minutes, Mrs. Dorothy came back with an old picture in her hand, with a smile plastered on her face.“Here,” Mrs. Dorothy placed the medium size picture before them. She said, "There are two families in the picture. My husband, me, and Derrick. The other family was standing with Nancy and her parents. Can any of you remember this picture?”They lifted their heads and gazed at each other skeptically, trying to recall everything, but they couldn't because it had been ages since the picture was snapped.Aside from that, they were still kids.“No, I can't recall anything. However, I could only recall that I had a good childhood friend who was a girl. I can't remember anything more than that.” D

Now, the next day after closing from the office, Derrick didn't go directly to the winter hospital to check on Williams, rather, he took Nancy to his house. On arriving home, Derrick hastily dropped from the car, he walked around to the other side and romantically opened the car door for Nancy to come out.“Welcome to my house, Nancy,” he said with a wide smile as he dramatically bowed to her.“Thank you, Dr. Derrick.” Nancy appreciated him with a wide smile on her face.“My pleasure,” he muttered and gently closed the car door.Derrick led her into the house, as Nancy majestically walked behind him like a princess, perhaps a bride.“Once more, welcome to my house, Nancy.” he bowed to her again as he opened the entrance for Nancy to enter the lounge. She smiled at him and held her purse in front of her with her two hands.Just as they stepped into the lounge, Mimi, Derrick's younger sister, sighted them, and she hastily jumped off the couch and ran to her big brother with her arms wid

Just as Williams recognized the person standing by the door, his heartbeat skipped in seconds. However, Hailey's back was still against the door because she never bothered to check who it was, as what Williams was telling her was making her heartthrob.“Williams,” Derrick finally called out and gestured towards them with a fake calm expression on his face.“Hey, Hailey,” said Derrick as he came closer to her.“Hey, Williams. You are here…” Hailey nodded as she was still contemplating if she should bring Justin, her son, to see his father. She never wanted anything like a ‘relationship’ to join her with any man again, but Justin was becoming a barrier to the promise she made to herself, which she wasn't willing to break.“Yeah, I just heard from the officer, so I decided to come to check on Williams and know how he is doing.” he responded and then asked, “Where are you going? It seems like you were about to go out?”“Yeah-yeah, I was. I want to go and get some food for Williams. If I'm

In a hospital called Winter Hospital, Williams slowly opened his eyes, his head throbbing with pain. His vision was blurry, and it took him a moment to adjust to the light. His eyes began to focus, he realized he was lying in a hospital bed. He looked down at his chest, where he saw a large bandage covering a wound.“Where am I?” he croaked, his throat dry and sore. He scanned the room, trying to figure out where he was and what happened that he ended up there.Suddenly, a woman opened the door and entered, causing Williams to turn his gaze to the door.Immediately the lady entered, Williams repeated the same question he asked earlier,“ Where am I?”“You're in the hospital," she responded and gestured towards him with a slight smile displayed on her face.Williams struggled to remember what happened, but then, the woman standing beside the hospital bed took his attention, causing his head to hurt.“H-Hailey?” Williams muttered as he attended to sit up.“Hey, don't do that, Williams.
