Twinges on his leg was the thing that had awoken Lachlan. All he saw was a small room when he opened his eyes. He rose from the bed and checked his leg. A bandage was secured around the wound.

“Finally you are awake, Alpha,” greeted by an old woman on her mid-fifties. She is carrying a bowl with water in it.

“Who are you? How did I get here? Why did you call me Alpha?” His continuous queries rendered the old woman a smile on her face.

She put the bowl beside him. “Save your questions, Alpha. You're going to exhaust yourself.” She reached for a towel and soaked it in the water-filled bowl. “We found you under a big tree. You are wounded and...” the old woman felt the hot blood rushed onto her cheeks. “...and naked.”
