Maridelle stayed inside his chamber sitting on a couch for a few hours. She is in front of him like a student in front of the principal. But with no conversation between them. She wanted to initiate a dialogue to break the ice. From the moment she saw him, she wanted to ask why he called her. However, her fear of blurting information stopped her. So instead of talking, she focused her eyes on the details of his chamber.
It is huge with a king size bed near the window on the east side. Over it is a canopy of white thin fabric. Paintings she considered of thousands of ages hung on the wall. There is a grand chandelier right in the center of the ceiling. On the left corner is a table, his working table. There is fine furniture with materials she thought were expensive. There is also a balcony where the fresh air freely enters the room. There was nothing much to note. It is simple but huge and elegant. “Are you done?” Alpha Lachlan finally talked. “Done what?” Alpha Lachlan stared at her. “I am asking if you are done watching what's in my room.” “Oh, I'm sorry. It's just that...uhmm... I've been here for hours literally doing nothing except sitting.” “Got a problem with that? Let me remind you I'm the Alpha. I got the saying and you don't.” His stern voice engulfed the room. She shouldn't complain to an Alpha. Maridelle's feeling the ambiance heated. “No, that is not what I meant. I'm just wondering why I'm here,” she said shyly. The alpha must have misinterpreted her answer. “You'll soon know.” He is used to being inside the room alone or with his beta, Mellow. But this time having Maridelle with him is a source of discomfort. Maridelle and him alone inside a chamber with a king size bed. Great. Just a perfect combination to stir his composure. “I used this for a dual purpose,” he said upon realizing he was a little harsh to her. “This is where I work and I have a lot of overtime so I need a bed to fall into.” That's awkward. Maridelle knows he is trying to free themselves from the awkward situation, but mentioning the bed is not a good idea. She nodded in response not wanting to talk anymore; just complying with Lily's command: less interaction as possible with the alpha. He felt it. He made her uneasy. There is a lot in the room to talk about like the paintings or the grand chandelier. However, he mentioned the bed. It was not a good topic at all; he agrees. He is losing his temper. Beta Mellow is the kind of beta who always does a job right away so the delay is diminishing his patience. The moment Alpha Lachlan was told about the information, he immediately allotted time to see both of them. Confirmation first before punishment. If everything is true, he cannot promise to take it easy on them. They will face the consequence they deserve. The monster within him was suddenly awoken. Beast, as he calls his wolf, had growled from his consciousness. “Hello, Beast. I'll promise you a run after I sort things out,” he said in his mind. It's been a long time since the last day they enjoyed themselves in the woods. “Not now,” he added. Something's wrong with his wolf. It suddenly wanted to shift, to take over him. “Stop! I said not now, Beast,” his command is filled with authority, but to his wolf, it seemed nothing. His hands meet his table with a loud bang. “What's wrong?” Maridelle innocently asked, regaining herself from being startled. She thought her silence angered the Alpha. His hand is curled into a fist. But he seemed to be talking to something. “Nothing,” Alpha Lachlan answered. Maridelle had caught him acting weird. But it was his wolf; it was fighting him. Without any notice the door opened; Lily came rushing in. The alpha smirked, beholding such an act. It begins now. “Maridelle, are you alright?” Lily worriedly said as she neared her. “I did not harm her,” he interrupted. “Beta Mellow, start reporting.” “As you wish, Alpha.” The three of them face Lachlan. Mellow is in front while Lily and Maridelle are behind him. Lily's holding Maridelle's hand. “A few weeks ago, almost a month actually. A brutal killing of three people was reported,” Mellow started. “The culprit was unknown, but it was clear that it must have been a vampire since the victims' blood was totally drained.” Lily's grip on Maridelle's hand tightened. She feels her hand getting cold. Cold sweats trickled on their backs. They know where this is going. “So an alliance was made to address the conflict. We had a hard time looking for the culprit. He or she is really good at hiding. But now, we know who it was,” Mellow continued. He glances at Lily and Maridelle whose muscles, he supposed, stiffened. “Do you know about this, don't you?” His question is directed to Lily. However, Lily knew Alpha Lachlan got his answer already. Lily tried shifting. It was no use for Mellow alone can handle her, but she is holding on the tiniest hope Maridelle could at least have the chance to escape. To protect her is the priority. “Not fast,” said the Alpha. Mellow had prevented her before she could fully shift. “Let her go!” Mari cried. “Now, it's confirmed. We'll be submitting you to the alliance. I don't need more evidence. I am certain of your deceit and sin.” “NO! You don't understand the situation, Alpha! Don't bring us to the alliance,” Lily screamed. A loud bang echoed. His fist hits the table. He is fuming because of Lily. “How dare you say that! I understand everything. Maridelle, no matter how angelic her face is, killed innocent people. You brought in my pack a murderer. Not just a normal murderer but a vampire. That is clearly a betrayal to your race! And now what she did had fueled an insurgency. That could mean war! Which part did I not understand, Lily?” “I didn't mean to go here. Just let us leave. Everything will be more complicated if you won't let us. Alpha Lachlan, please,” Lily begged. “Leave and then what? Give your niece a chance to kill? Come on, Lily. I won't be doing that.” Alpha Lachlan faces Mellow. “As for their deceit, Mellow you know what to do.” He is adamant. As an Alpha, all the difficult decisions are for him to make. “Aunt Lily has nothing to do with this. It's all me. I did it. Let her leave,” Maridelle begged on her knees, tears pattering on the floor. Alpha Lachlan's eyes are glued to Maridelle. She is the same person he considered a true angel of not only in face but of deed in a short span of time. He started to assume she had put on an act. But caving into her plea is against his duty. Lily is her accomplice. “The decision is final.” Maridelle rose from kneeling. Seeing her Aunt Lily trying to escape Beta Mellow's grip squeezes her heart. She just wishes she can be brutal like the way she was the night when it started everything. If she could then it could save them. It might but she doesn't know how. She hasn't learned the ways of her parents' race. “Punis—” The alpha was not able to finish his command. Beast is violently taking over him. Everything that is covering Alpha Lachlan ripped. Shreds of fabric are scattered on the floor. The next thing he knew he had shifted. Then his wolf towering over Maridelle, stared at her. •••feedback is highly appreciated!•••Hello, readers! Days after the bloody encounter of the two opposing sides, the storm has subsided; the enemies has been defeated and although, the damage has been done so greatly, Alpha Lachlan and Maridelle as well as the Alliance has almost recovered from their wounds and from the effects of the encounter. They had returned to their respective abodes and pack, enjoying their triumph.“How are you?” Maridelle said as she neared Alpha Lachlan who has been looking at a distance in the balcony of his chamber. His thoughts are wandering along the memories of the yester days events. All the hardships that they have been through, the enduring, the loses, and the pain; the smiles, the tears, the camaraderie, and betrayal. He tilted his head to see who it was; his lips curved upwards upon seeing Maridelle. Her face is bruised and she's wearing a white cardigan to conceal the rest of her wounds and bruises. However, her countenance belies her appearance. Her aura is brighter than ever. Alpha Lachlan slipped
All of Vamoire’s power is on both of her hands that is pinning Maridelle’s head on the ground. “Die!” Her hands are trembling, seething. But to Maridelle, she had completely forgotten about her own fight. Vamoire notices it and wonderingly followed Maridelle’s stare. She chuckled devilishly upon knowing the reason. “I had changed my mind. I’ll postpone your death a little longer.” She pulled Maridelle’s hair, positioned it better to face the merciful situation that Alpha Lachlan is in and ruthlessly uttered near her ear, “That wolf that you love so dearly is going to die before your eyes. I’ll make sure you’ll see how Jek will tear him to pieces. Then the demise of your companions will be next.” She takes delight on the images of their enemies’ bodies lying lifeless before them. “Then I will kill you.”Vamoire has painted the scene so vivid that the next time Maridelle lifted the lids of her eyes, the red fiery color of its orbs were disclosed. This time those eyes are tinted with th
Nyx has received the report and she was quick to disseminate it. As what she has received, everyone especially his twin brother was informed that Hodor’s forces has been accumulated and is advancing towards one common location, the City of Hilwood. They need to get there first before them. “I can feel the end,” Lucia murmured in nervous breathing. Beside her is Alpha Lachlan who is also busy preparing his double-edged sword. “Hodor’s end. Let’s make that certain,” he suddenly replied. Lucia stopped strapping the special guns that are able to fight against vampires on her side. “How sure are you about that, Alpha?” she whispered to him, making it sure that it is only his ears that is going to hear her. Around them is a bunch of busy warriors whose spirits are being awoken in the last minute; still unprepared to fight even though a scarce amount of time was given, but it feels like it was only meant for them to have a stretching and not the whole exercise. Lucia is beign careful not
One vial of Maridelle’s blood is resting on Hodor’s hand. He took it from his pocket awhile ago. Actually it had never left the comfort of his pocket since the time he took one from Vamoire’s laboratory. His palm encloses the vial as the door opens. “Tell me some good news.”There is a wide grin forming on Vamoire’s visage. She pranced along the aisle, closer to Hodor’s throne. “Everything is doing really great accordingly to our plan,” she reported enthusiastically. “We are gaining controls over cities and towns and their fucking Alliance and all their forces are nothing compared to ours.”The news delighted him. “And the monsters and newborns? Are they doing well?” He wanted to assess the magnitude of Maridelle’s help. “Of course. That bitch had done us a good favor.” She smiled bitterly as her thoughts wanders from the moment she lost her pretty appearance because of her blood. It made her even angrier knowing Maridelle had survived the death they had offered to her. Hodor noti
Hurried and nervous knocks reverberated at the other side of the door. Without a waste of time, it was opened immediately disclosing to both Alpha Lachlan and Maridelle the Alliance and all who builds it. Nyx was quick to inform them about the news and the progresses it had already taken. She kept her gaze downwards while walking behind her Alpha who had entered with his authority and bearing. The silence that occupied the entirety of the whole room after they had stepped in sends cold shivers to Maridelle. Their feet halted just a meter away from the center where Lucia is standing.“She should be punished!” contemptuously scream by one of the Alliance’s member right after determining who their visitors are.His jaw tightened, fist clenched. Though he knew that is the best thing to do to Maridelle, for some reason Alpha Lachlan detested the idea. It only means she will get hurt. He held her hand and gently pressed it to tell her he got her. Maridelle remained gazing on the floor. She
