Cassian’s POV
It was getting harder by the day to make Raven forgive us, I've never felt so tired and punished this way all my life, it was like i was carrying a very heavy burden in my soul and I know I deserved it until my Elias called with agony in his voice and said they must have hit the last stage in their shift and I shouldn't look for them of shit happens. My heart dropped in dread, my head pounded like crazy and fear licked my skin. A life without my brothers in it was a fucking nightmare.I rushed back to to the Main mansion and saw my step mother smiling at the phone, I bet she was making a call but I didn't care at the moment. Reaching the last stage of the shift during the blood moon means death, the last time it happened to me…my father has to do something he never meant to do, killing a new born baby so I could feed on it's blood to survive.I almost gagged at myself when I heard it but fuck this curse, I'll do anything.“Raven's PovHorror consumed me as I watched Dante crumple to the ground, his skin cracking and bleeding from the silver light and now it was Cassian. The sound he made…. that guttural scream of pure agony would haunt me forever. "Stop it!" I screamed at Jerome, struggling against his iron grip. "You're killing him! You're hurting my brothers!"Jerome's violet eyes gleamed with satisfaction as he held the silver disc steady, keeping the deadly beam focused on my fallen brother. "They're not your brothers! They fucking interfered with my business," he said coldly. "They should have stayed at their precious party."Cassian snarled, his fangs fully extended, eyes blazing crimson. "Over my dead body will you hurt her or my brothers.""Cassian, please!" I begged, tears streaming down my face. "Just go! All of you, get out before he kills you!"But my stubborn brother refused to listen. He took another step forward, his body trembling from the silver's effects
Dante's Pov I bowed my head, not out of respect but to hide the rage burning in my eyes while I watched my Aunt.Aunt Kira stood on the dais, as she painted Jerome as some kind of savior and Raven as a potential threat. What had begun as a celebration had transformed into a nightmare..I watched Cassian walk away from the crowd and head towards Friessa who stood trembling in confusion and fear. Without hesitation, I followed him. When he reached Friessa, He gripped her arm, perhaps too tightly. "Where is she?" He demanded with a low growl. "Where the hell did Raven go?"Friessa's eyes widened with fear, her lower lip trembling. "I-I couldn't stop him," she stammered. "Jerome appeared from nowhere like he stepped out of the shadows themselves. He grabbed her and they just... vanished.""And you did nothing?" He snarled."What could I do?" Tears welled in her eyes. "It happened so fast. One moment she was beside me, the next moment, she's freaking gone."Cassian's face hardened. "We ne
Raven's PovOne moment I was standing in the ballroom, the next thing… was total darkness. It happened so fast. Aunt Kira had just clinked her glass, drawing everyone's attention. The crowd fell silent, and I felt a chill run down my spine. Something in her eyes was a gleam of triumph and malice that made my heart race. Then came the sensation of being watched. Not the usual stares I received as the human daughter of the vampire king, but something more intense. More predatory. Before I could turn to look, cold fingers wrapped around my wrist. The world blurred around me with colors smearing together like wet paint. My stomach lurched as though I'd been dropped from a great height.Friessa's frightened face was the last thing I saw before the ballroom vanished. She reached for me, mouth open in a silent scream, but her fingers grasped only air. I couldn't even call out to her. When the world stopped spinning, rough stone pressed against my back. The impact knocked the breath from my
Cassian's Pov I saw red!Blood fucking red as I watched Aunt Kira click her glass against the crystal flute. The delicate sound somehow cut through the ballroom chatter like a blade. Every head turned toward her, and my stomach dropped. My brothers tensed beside me. Damien's face went pale, while Elias's jaw clenched so tight I could hear his teeth grinding. We all knew what was coming. We'd tried to prevent this moment for years."Ladies and gentlemen of the Velmora," Aunt Kira announced, her voice dripping with false sweetness. "While we celebrate this... unexpected union, I believe there's another announcement that's long overdue."Father's expression hardened to granite. Mother clutched his arm, her knuckles white against the black of his suit. Why the fuck couldn't he just order Kira to shut up? He was king, for blood's sake. But something about Aunt Kira always made him hesitate, as if she held some invisible power over him."Our royal family has endur
Raven's Pov After the filthy act with Cassian, I felt like a slut, more like his personal slut standing in the corner of the grand ballroom, I tugged at my crimson dress, feeling both exposed and powerful. The silk clung to my curves in ways that made me feel like I didn't belong in this world of immortals."Stop fidgeting, Raven! You look absolutely delicious," Friessa giggled, her fangs slightly visible when she smiled too wide. "Every vampire in this room would drain a human dry just to dance with you.""That's not helping," I muttered, but couldn't help smiling. The ballroom of Blackwood Academy sparkled with chandeliers that hung like frozen stars, casting golden light over the sea of supernatural beings below. My brothers stood across the room, looking annoyingly perfect. Cassian with his dark hair slicked back, revealing sharp cheekbones that could cut glass. Caius and Elias, dyed their hair gold, looking way too hot and mischievous enough to charm a group of vampire girls tha
Cassian’s POVSomething felt off about the upcoming ball. It wasn’t about Raven’s recovery from her bleeding or the delay in the date. That part, I didn’t mind. What worried me was the quiet tension spreading through the mansion like smoke. It was the elders and the purebloods especially from my father’s people. They didn’t like that a human woman would become Queen. They thought it was beneath our kind, that it weakened the bloodline. They didn’t care that my father had made his choice, or that we had, too. They only cared about their twisted version of tradition and control.I had made some calls and talked to the most powerful among them. Made sure they wouldn’t cause trouble. They gave me their word, but I didn’t trust them. I could hear the fake respect in their tone. The kind of tone that always meant something was brewing behind the scenes.I also contacted the school and told them the students needed to behave, especially with the elders visiting. I made sure anti-hunter silve
