The room was quiet, and nothing moved apart from the flame in the lantern that was lit. Diva has returned back to her room to have some rest after the meeting with the seer. She had too many questions in her mind that need answers but right now, her body was exhausted. Her thoughts are tangled, and the effect of the drink the seer gave her was too much on her as she feels sleepy.

Diva took off as her eyes closed gently and the world around her faded.

It started with a gentle breeze. She stood barefoot in a meadow filled with silver flowers that swayed with the wind. The moon shone above, full and clear, casting a pale glow on everything. For a moment, peace settled in her chest.

She looked around. The air smelled of lavender. Somewhere far off, she could hear the sound of a stream flowing. A place she had never seen, but something about it felt familiar.

Then, it changed.

The flowers started to wither. The grass turned dark, brittle. The soft sound of water was replaced with the low hum of whispers—indistinct, echoing, unsettling.

The sky above turned from silver to blood-red. The moon disappeared behind a veil of clouds.

And then she saw it.

A tall figure, cloaked in shadows, standing just at the edge of the trees. She couldn’t see its face. But it was watching her. She knew that much. And then she took a step forward.

"Who are you?" she asked with a shallow voice.

The figure didn’t answer. Instead, it lifted a hand and pointed toward her heart.

Pain burst in her chest.

She stumbled back, clutching herself. The whispers grew louder. Twisting. Turning. They didn’t speak words she understood, but they crept into her mind like poison.

You are weak. You don’t belong here.

They will leave you.

You are dangerous. Broken.

She fell to her knees. Her breath came in gasps. The ground beneath her began to crack, revealing fire and darkness underneath.

"Stop it!" she screamed.

The figure took a step closer. It was inside her head now. Every thought, every doubt, every hidden fear—it twisted them, magnified them.

He doesn’t love you. He never did.

You are just a tool.

Let go. Give in. Fall.

She squeezed her eyes shut. Images flashed behind her lids—Derek smiling, the way he touched her cheek, the warmth of his voice.

And then another image: Lilian’s photo. The one she found in Derek’s secret room.

"No," she whispered. "You’re lying."

Light burst from her chest.

The figure hissed and recoiled, shrinking into the shadows. The fire receded. The ground healed.

She opened her eyes.

And sat upright in bed.

Her breath was heavy. Sweat drenched her nightclothes. The room was cold, yet her skin felt like it was burning.

She looked around, heart still pounding. The lantern still flickered. The door was closed.

"What... what was that?" she whispered.

She swung her legs off the bed and sat still for a long moment. Her hands were shaking.

Then she noticed it—a faint scratch on her arm. Thin. Red. Just like the one she saw in the dream when she fell.

Her eyes widened.

That was no ordinary dream.

A name immediately popped up in her mind.

Ronan.

The name formed in her thoughts like a whisper from the void. She had never heard of that kind of name before, not really. But her ears kept hearing the name.

She stood up and paced slowly.

He was trying to weaken her. Break her. Fill her head with lies. But why now? And how?

Her thoughts turned to the seer.

She immediately sent for a guard to call the seer. He needs to answer some questions about the drink and charms he gave to her.

Within some few minutes the seer appeared. The seer looked up from a pile of dried herbs, startled.

"Diva! what is it?"

"What did you give me?!" Diva demanded.

The seer blinked. "Just a sedative. Something to calm your mind. You asked for it."

"Don’t lie to me."

The seer's eyes darted. For the first time, Diva saw something uncertain in his face. Fear?

"Did someone tell you to give it to me?"

"No. No one. I swear."

Diva stepped forward. "A man was in my dream. A shadow. He tried to control me. That wasn’t just sleep. That was magic. Dark magic."

The seer opened his mouth, then closed it again.

"I don’t know what you saw," he whispered, eyes falling to the floor, "but dreams are strange things. The mind plays tricks."

"Not mine," Diva said coldly. "Not tonight."

"Just leave"

The seer left without another word.

The door was closed after the guard who escorted the seer out and Diva was left alone in the room, she lit more candles and sat on the floor, hugging her knees. Her thoughts raced.

He was close. Maybe not in body, but in spirit. He was reaching for her. Trying to tear her down.

And yet...

Something inside her had pushed him away. A light. A power.

One she didn’t know she had.

She stared into the flame.

He would try again. Of that she was sure.

But next time, she would be ready.

And this time, she would fight back.

With a weary grin and a defeated nod, he lifted his sword and advanced toward her. The sound of wood striking wood resonated in the clearing as they advanced, quick and purposeful. Caleb was powerful and talented—but Diva was unyielding. She evaded a hit, pivoted down, and knocked his legs out from beneath him. He landed on the ground with a sigh. The sun has not yet risen for the day as it was still early in the morning when Kieran stood at the edge of the northern boundary with his eyes looking left and right to see if anyone was coming. Everything was lining up perfectly.A shadow emerged from the tree line—quick, quiet, lethal. The rogue. He was lean, sinewy, his coat dusted with ash to dim the silver of his fur. Kieran raised a clawed hand, and the rogue halted just beyond the clearing."You're late," Kieran said under his breath, glancing toward the towering den-lodge in the distance."You changed the meeting time twice," the rogue replied, voice cold and rasping.
