Bloody hands

The forest turned silent and only the cries of owls and crickets could be heard. Amber looked down on her hand which held the man’s heart and at the sight of blood, her senses went wild. The smell of blood wafted in her nose and she felt a kind of hunger, a desire to feed, but it was not just any kind of food. It was blood.

She resisted the urge and let the heart of the man drop from her hand before dropping on her knees. She buried her face down and held her head as she fought the urge and she felt an ache in her teeth.

The boy, who had witnessed what Amber did, slowly raised his body from the ground and walked towards her. He knew how she must have felt to murder someone and also, there was something different about her but he didn’t mind it.
