Chapter 15

The evening had progressed.

The sky transitioned from hues of orange and pink to deeper shades of blue and purple as night descended. The world around gradually succumbed to darkness.

Amidst this transition, the moon began to make its presence known. At first, a faint sliver appeared in the sky, barely visible against the darkening backdrop. As minutes passed, the moon climbed higher, its glow intensifying with each passing moment. Clouds drifted lazily across the sky, occasionally veiling the moon's radiance until it was completely out, shining bright from the sky where it was.

Nova watched as it unfolded. It was the least she could do from the cage she was in under the moon.

She had seen a full moon before, but something in her told her that this one was different.

Drifting from her thoughts, she recalled that it was supposed to be her birthday.

It was the day she would turn Eighteen. An adult. But here she was in a cage.
