LOGINChapter two
(Two days earlier)
KADEN
Drip.
Drip.
The sound of blood dripping on the floor echoed and screams followed, staring at the half dead fucker in front of me a cloud of smoke escaped my mouth.
I hit the butt of the cigarette on the ashtray, while Xander continued his assault on the old man tearing his skin and sewing it back up, his brows furrowed as he focused on his task while the man screamed and squirmed, he even pissed himself.
Pathetic.
"Are you going to tell me everything you know now?" I asked calmly. We found out someone has been selling us out after Koyla's death. I was livid when I heard he was killed in his house downtown.
A secluded property, far from civilization, and Koyla saw it as a safe haven before someone put a bullet in his head in the bathtub.
Only a few people in the clan know where he lived, and we are one.
No one would betray us like that unless this old butler overheard our conversation and sold the information to someone he is keen on keeping alive because we have been torturing the piece of shit for two hours and he refuses to talk.
Maybe he knows he is going to die after he says who he is working with, but why prolong the suffering when you can just relieve yourself?
"Plu- please.. I- I didn't know" He cried and I raised my hand to stop Xander from cutting him open again.
"You didn't know what? Speak and stop wasting my time" I ordered and Xander let go of him giving him a chance to catch his breath.
"I... I didn't know they were going to kill-kill him, I was in need of some money and-"
"I don't give a fuck about your reasons, tell me what I want to know" I interrupted his sob story, he is going to die anyway.
"I sold it to the Ballisters," He revealed.
"The Scorpions?" Xander asked and he nodded.
Interesting.
I thought those assholes would have learned their lesson by now, but it seems it was a retaliation for killing their son three years ago.
The bastard came into my turf with a confidence that pissed me off trying to call a truce, after what his father did to my family.
I was kind enough to send his body back so they could bury him, but it's no surprise they didn't appreciate my kindness.
"Who did you sell it to?" Xander questioned.
"The daugh- daughter, she attacked me and threatened to kill my wife who was in the hospital. I don't know how she knew about that and she made me tell her where Kolya lived. I swear I didn't know what she was going to do with the information" He wailed as Xander gripped his hair.
"You knew what was going to happen when you gave her that information, and you didn't report back so we can prepare and ambush the bitch" I seethed and stood up, his eyes widened as I walked closer.
"Koyla would have been able to handle her if he had seen it coming, and I lost a brother because of your greed, tell me how much did she pay you? Enough to pay for your wife's hospital bill? Or enough to buy your mistress a car?"
He opened his mouth then shut it as I glowered at him.
"Using your family as an excuse when you've abandoned them two years ago is repulsive, maybe I should have brought your wife in so she can watch you take your last breath" I pulled the gun from my jacket and shot him twice in his head.
Blood splattered on Xander's face and he groaned, "Take care of the body and get me every info you can gather on the Ballisters daughter, it seems she's trying to avenge her brother" I almost chuckled at the thought if that, I knew better than to underestimate women, I have a lot of female bikers in the gang and they are just as heartless as the men even more than most of the men.
I will have to find a way to get rid of her before she becomes a problem, I walked out of the torture room heading for the main building.
Alistair and Benzo were outside waiting for me while some of the bikers drove off, probably going to the club, "What's the status?" I asked, referring to their recent mission.
"It was a success, Boss, we secured the shipment and the Don sent his regards" Alistair replied.
"He should shove it up his hairy ass" I mumbled and Benzo laughed.
"The warehouses are secured too after the incident last month I made the boys patrol the area" Benzo added and I hummed in approval as we entered the living room.
One of my warehouses was attacked last month and we lost a lot of money and weapons. I don't know who did it yet but I have a feeling that the Ballisters aren't innocent.
"Do you need anything?" Alistair asked as we got to my office and I shook my head.
"You can take your leave now and make sure to check the reports from the club" I replied and they bowed before leaving.
I poured myself a glass of whiskey gulping down the warm liquid.
After I lost everything I loved and cared about I made this clan despite being young, I was able to instill fear in people and fear is good.
It made me top of the food chain and I don't have any weaknesses, unlike the Ballisters, Don Rio has children and a wife although she isn't like most Capo wives, she is a French woman and formerly an assassin.
They took everything from me and now I'm going to return the favor, their precious daughter is going to die.
The door opened and Xander walked in with his laptop, "I found out something about the girl, she is twenty-four years old and she finished -"
"Get straight to the fucking point" I snapped and he handed the laptop over to me.
I looked at the screen and was instantly pulled in by hypnotizing mismatched eyes, one blue and the other jade green. Auburn wavy hair and long lashes.
She is surprisingly gorgeous.
The picture was taken on the day of her graduation and she looked at the camera with an empty gaze I'm familiar with.
"Interesting," I muttered.
"She is getting married the day after tomorrow," Xander said and my head snapped in his direction instantly.
"To who?" My voice sounded cold and distant.
"To Don Ferdinand of The Vipers, they are trying to form an alliance with the Vipers and she serves as a means to seal the deal" He explained and my jaw clenched at the thought of her marrying that old greasy bastard.
For some reason that didn't sit well with me.
It doesn't mean I won't kill her, maybe killing her before the wedding would be better, I would be doing her a favor cause I'm sure she wouldn't be happy about marrying Don Ferdinand.
"What do you suggest we do?" Xander asked.
The Ballisters know I'm coming to wipe them out soon just as they did with my family, they think teaming up with the Vipers will stop me.
A foolish decision.
And they are giving their beautiful daughter away for that, "Where is the wedding going to take place?" I asked instead of replying to his question.
"I haven't found out yet, they are being discreet but by tomorrow I will get the information" He assured me and I nodded.
"We will pay a visit to the wedding and kill them all. Every single one of them, they won't see it coming if they think they did a good job keeping it discreet" I remarked.
"Should I lead them?" He asked.
"No. I will be leading" I replied and he lifted his gaze from the laptop meeting mine.
"Are you sure?" He asked, appearing confused.
"Tell Benzo to get
the boys ready, we are crashing the wedding and a little red on white wouldn't be so bad" I smirked.
"As you wish Boss"
Chapter 134BrendaâTo before all this happened. To when Kaden and I could talk without fear or anger.âShe smiled softly. âYou canât go back, Brenda. But you can start again.âHer words hung in the air, reassuring me in the most unimaginable way. I stole a glance at her, and she nodded, like she was confirming what she had said.My lips pressed together, a new surge of hope burning inside me as I stood to my feet. âThank you Kira for your kind words. I have to take my leave now.â***Later that evening, I found myself walking down the building, near Kaden's block. I didnât plan to â my feet just sort of led me there. The sun was setting, burning through my skin.I stopped across the building, staring at the small block with the dim light coming from the window. I could see a shadow move inside â his shadow. For a long moment, I just stood there, my hands in my pockets, my heart pounding.I wanted to walk up to the door and knock. I wanted to tell him how sorry I was. But Kiraâs words
Chapter 133BrendaIt had been three days since I last saw Kaden. Three long, quiet, and heavy days. The first day, I thought it didnât matter. I thought maybe it was better this way â that after everything that happened, maybe we both needed space. But as each hour passed, the silence started to bother me more than I expected. Now, sitting alone in my room, I couldnât stop thinking about him.The rain had stopped outside, leaving the sky dull. I sat by the window, watching little drops of water slide down the glass. My chest felt tight, like something inside was twisting slowly and wouldnât stop.Kaden hadnât called. He hadnât texted. He hadnât even looked my way since that night. And I couldnât blame him.I pressed my palms against my eyes, trying to stop the tears that were already forming. âWhy did I do that?â I whispered to myself. The sound of my own voice made the room feel even emptier. When I called the police on him, I thought I was doing the right thing. I thought he was da
Chapter 132Kaden The next morning, I woke up early. The light coming through the curtains was soft and warm. I stretched and sat up, feeling something I hadnât felt in a long time â calm. When I stepped out into the living room, Kira was already there, sitting at the table with a cup of coffee. She looked up and smiled. âMorning.ââMorning,â I said quietly. She studied my face for a moment. âYou look better.ââYeah,â I said. âA little.âShe nodded, her smile widening. âThatâs good. You deserve some peace.âI sat down across from her. âThank you, Kira. For everything.âShe waved it off. âYou donât have to thank me. I just did what was right.ââStill,â I said, looking down at the cup sheâd poured for me. âNot everyone wouldâve believed me.ââI did,â she said softly. âAnd I always will.âSomething in my chest eased even more as she said those words. And then, just like it came, Kiraâs smile faded a little when she saw how serious I looked. I could feel the world pressing inside my ches
Chapter 131KarenWhen Kira and I got home, the air in the house felt strange⌠everywhere was quiet and it felt a bit strange. The drive back had been silent. Kira sat beside me, her hands on her lap, her eyes fixed on the road. Every now and then, sheâd glance my way, as if to make sure I was really there.I didnât blame her for the silence. What could she even say? What could I say? When we walked into the house, everything looked the same, but it didnât feel the same. Kira turned to me gently. âYou should rest, Karen. Youâve been through a lot.âI nodded without a word. My body was tired, but my mind wouldnât stop running. As I made my way down the hallway towards my room, I passed by Brendaâs door. It was closed. For a moment, I stopped there, listening. I thought I heard movement â maybe she was pacing, maybe crying. I didnât know. But I didnât knock. Not because I was angry, but because I wasn't ready for any drama⌠not yet.I just⌠didnât know what to say. After what happened,
Chapter 130KiraI couldn't sleep throughout the night.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Karenâs face, filled with shock, fear and disbelief. I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling, my hands clutching the blanket. My mind wouldnât stop running. None of this made any sense.Karen couldnât have killed Alistair. I knew him. He wasnât perfect, but he wasnât a murderer.I kept replaying everything in my head, restlessly trying to piece out the puzzle.By morning, I made up my mind. I was going to find out the truth myself.I got up, threw on a jacket, and left the house quietly. The guards at the gate barely noticed me as I walked past. My hands were shaking a little, but my mind was clear. I needed answers, and I wasnât going to rest until I found them. The first person I went to was a guard named Mason. He was one of the few people who had been around that night Alistair died. He was older than most of the other guards, quiet, and usually kept to himself.I found him standing by the ba
Chapter 129KiraI was standing by the door, my hand already on the knob, ready to leave, when I heard something that made my heart stop.It was a loud thud, followed by voices shouting from the hallway. At first, I thought I was imagining things. But then I heard it clearly this timeâsomeone yelling, âFreeze! Hands up!âMy stomach dropped. That wasnât just anyoneâs voice. It was a policeman.I turned sharply, my heart pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. My steps felt slow at first, but as the noise grew louder, I ran towards the sound. When I reached the corner of the hallway, I froze. Two policemen were dragging someone through the open window. And that person was Karen. For a second, I couldnât breathe. My mind refused to believe what my eyes were seeing. His hands were cuffed behind his back, his shirt wrinkled, and his face pale under the bright light. One of the officers had a tight grip on his arm, while the other pushed him forward.âWaitâwhatâs going on?â I shouted,
