Chapter 5
Elena's pov
I sat behind the stool, watching my reflection in the mirror as the maids vehemently jobbles around experimental rilly, each in trial to make me presentable as per requested. They did my makeover with overall expertise that I nibbled my lip upward, trying to convince myself this couldn't possibly be me.
"Done."Whistles of admiration emits from the maids, as they took in my appearance with gleaming eyes. I passed them a sly smile which thereafter, they packed their things and left, leaving the door open to let whoever comes in decide my fate.
It was still intact in my memory. I could still see myself bumped into him and remembered the sudden rage that blasts overpoweringly over his face whilst he took in my state. Then, he'd stomped into the dinning hall only for the maids to scurry up to me with an order from him. According to them, he termed it 'presentable'.
My footing of thoughts clung to a halt when I heard the padding of footsteps. My throat tightened all at once. Though I was never the type to get nervous, I found myself fondling with the hem of my dress with a fidgeting rhythm.
"You know, you could stay behind."His voice alone was enough to send shivers coursing through my veins. And even though he was just midway the room, I couldn't buckle up the courage to heighten up my eyes to look at him. I've never been this way. So, one thing is for sure; I might be fire but he's gasoline.
Perhaps I would still be rooted on the spot if I hadn't heard the chirpy-queaky sound the door had made signalling its closure. I almost made it to the door but I wasn't even halfway when it shut on my face, causing a raspy cuss to radiate from my mouth. He sure has some nerves, huh?
I huffed, opening the door and stalking after him. As I descended the stairs, I battled my lashes in utter confusion at the sight of the maids sprawled across the hallway into a line, each with their heads bowed and only raising it to spare me a glance when they were sure have walked past.
I was sold into their pack as a slave. The sudden respect and humility from whom and those have been tortured through hells for the past two months couldn't possibly be the work of a sudden angel from heaven. So, one thing was sure, they are now aware. They now know of my identity.
But I was more hell-bent and at the same time starstruck, not by his heavenly features this time, but by what was before my very own eyes when I reached him. The pack guards having surrounded him all moved aside, and had one of them open a black Mustang car door upon my presence.
"Hop in, princess."I heard his sweet yet captivating authoritative voice ushering me in as he got behind the wheels. I hesitated at first but the cosy warm feeling at the pit of my nerves caused my repulsive stance to budge, and I thereafter found myself plopping myself on the backseat.
The door shut closed at my entry, and almost immediately, the car screeched out of the parking lot and unto the tarred road. My heart was hammering at a risky speed against my chest as he pressed his foot on the accelerator, sentencing the car into a more faster motion.
"P-lease."A gasp escaped my mouth involuntarily. All walls built in me came cracking down as I struggled to quicken the pace at which my ragged breathings were coming. Now, I was beginning to find a fault in myself. Heck- I shouldn't have followed him.
Even though why he saved me from my slavery world and mysteries hasn't be known, I was still grateful he rescued me. But what if now, he's hell-bent on crashing us?
"Stop the damned car. Now!*I bit out angrily, elbows resting on my thighs as I raked my fingers into my hair and pulled on the scalp of my hair exasperatedly. The air coming out of my lungs fiercely hot as the atmosphere quietened, signalling to me he just stopped the car.
Goddamn it!. I haven't even got to know him yet and he's already turning my world upside down.
"Shit...!"An annoyed huff of breath marbled out through his teeth, as he slammed his fist unto the steering wheel. Though I was earlier self-absorbed, I looked up to see him already staring at me. With an inquisitive gaze, I raised my eyebrow questioningly at him for emphasis.
Uncertainty was clear in his eyes but nervethless, he cocked one of his brow to the side and catching that as a sign, I tilted my head to look at whatever was there he was pointing at and was the cause of his uneasiness. But only for me to hiss through my teeth as I caught the dreadful sight.
For a fleeting moment, I couldn't think. Like what do you do when suddenly a bunch of rogues appears unannounced to attack you? How crazily does a heart run when you know you're in between death and has no other way to escape? And above all, how would you be able to chastise yourself when you're the main reason you were caught in the webs of your attackers?
F*ck. I was the one who forced him into stopping the car which had to lead us into this!... Yes, I got us into this shit-hole.
Before I could make out what happens next, he was out of the car, slamming it shut with a bang. I watched with crossed hearts as he stopped before them intimidatingly. The wolves snickered, sharing a glance between themselves before returning their gazes back to the challenging figure before them.
"Hey there Alpha!."And that caught me unaware. 'Alpha...?' "We dare not double cross you but there's just one puppet you have in your possession that just have to be ours."I tensed on my seat at their unremorseful choice of words. But seeing my rescuer-supposed mate still maintaining his stance, I tried to recollect myself.
"Yes. Just give her up and there would be no need to shed a blood, Alpha Chase."
I frozen. That voice. It was one I grew up with and could by now recognize from any dimension of this planet. My eyes didn't take too long to locate him as he was already moving to the spotlight, a spot before Chase.
"K-illan?!."My voice raised by an octave and the air left the surroundings when his eyes pierced mine. Instantly, all colours drained from his face and as if taunted by my sight which was possibly right, he sent a silvery arrow my way.
My system ran out of oxygen immediately and I could only hear the sickly popping sounds Chase's bones made as they rearranged themselves into his wolf form. A second. Just a second more was between my death, but only for him to get into the way.
"N-No!."A gasp escaped my throat as the arrow pierced his chest. And at that moment, time seizes to tick. My whole body went on fire and just looking at him drop to the floor stirs something deep inside me; something primal and hungry.
No way; no way would he leave me alone to this hell of a life. I had rather spend my life in another dimension of hell with him.

I can feel all the hair on my body rise as my skin itches, but I couldn't run. I struggled- my body in agonizing pain as I try to lung towards his body. But all cells in my body failed me, at the same time I could feel my body being angled back on the floor. Tears streamed down my face at my failure. I wish I could. I wish I could give him my own breathe. He needs his life- A whole multi billionaire Alpha that owns and has a pack to rule. Whilst, I have no worth on this earth surface even though I was birthed by an influential Alpha of a father and a mother who was never there, thus; leaving me with no worth whatsoever. All I know is, I deserve to be the one dying in his stead, and not him doing the opposite. "Heck, he's regaining his breath! Let's take her and be out of here as fast as possible
Chapter 7Chase's povI could feel the jamming of her heartbeat thumping against her ribcage as I pressed her body closer to my chest. My teeth clenching, I forced my fist closed and staggered back before my inner demon takes over. An usual pang of pain clouds my head thereafter, one that caused my vision to be repulsive of giving me a clear sight."A-Are you okay?"I refused to take even a glance back at her. Instead, I just tilted my head down and fixated my blurry gaze to the floor. Smears of blood starts to slowly drip from my nostril, piercing my body hard against the counter. No... She isn't supposed to see me this way. No one has ever got to see this side of me.Wearily, I swirled around and ducked past her towards the staircase. I gradually limped my way till I was inside the shadows of my room. Carpooling a hiss through a single huff of breath, I slammed the door shut with my palm.I positioned myself before the mirror as I pulled my shirt into shreds. Then, I let the flow see
Chapter 8Elena's povI wore my flip-flops and got out of bed. By a glance at the wall clock, it was just 11 a.m. Yet, this just got the count up to twice I had slept upon our arrival. And ever since we got here, I haven't sighted him. I know he has been ignoring me ever since he gave me a short mouth twitch about what my father had done to him in the past, and how he really wants me to pay for my father's sin.He could make my father rot in jail for all I care, but he doesn't have to take it all out on me."Good morning, Miss."I heard the guard I never knew was at my door say, once I opened the door. He was dressed in a black fitted robe that flowed down to his leg. His face quickly buttered back into his normal hard faced one after he'd given me a slight smile. He quickly sheathed back the sword in its place and crossed his hands behind him."Now, you're making me wonder what's so good about the morning."I rolled my eyes, my voice dripping with scarcasm. In a hurry to locate the kitc
Chapter 9Elena's povI only let out the heavy pang of breathe have been holding in when I was out of his office. Back in there, only heavens knew how I was able to survive not at all, how I had withstand the heating atmosphere and came out in one piece. It was just a light job of moving heavyweighted jocks of paperworks from here to another, but it strained every little bit of energy in me. He only allowed me to go when he was sure I had carried out the given task thoroughly.I went into my room and made to shut the door but only for it to creak back opened. That was when I looked down for the source of problem and found an envelope stamped at the door's entrance.Who kept this here?I hurriedly jammed the door closed and turning the key in the lock with shaky hand, I sat myself on the bed and ripped off the envelope's embroidery. I admit, I was quite impatient to know the content of the letter. Even though I should be scared now for the fact that some secret spy agent might have cree
Chapter 10Elena's povI was out of control. My breathing skipping out in a raspy motion. I ran. I kept going, only looking back between few meters to glance back for any trail of a person or the scent from an approaching figure. There's no way I could stay back without my conscience buldging me. I did- I betrayed him.He was kind enough to save me and even brought me to his home. But what did I repay him with? I saw a letter that could have came from someone who wants to hurts him or I, and instead of telling him, I let my insecurity get the best part of me so much that he had to find out himself. I don't know but, I feel like a betrayal. A backstabber. I know there's no way I could still stay under his roof after that and still be able to face him, all day in and out. So, I ran.Where to and how to; I know not. All I see is the dire need to escape. Damn, I feel so ungrateful.A horn blarred. I stopped immediately then looked towards the tarred road to see a familiar BMW reversing a
Chapter 11Elena's pov"Heck, Chase. We need to get out of here."I can't just stand here and watch Chase kick off a show with him. I went to him and caught his arm, in an attempt to drag him away with him because I know he will be reluctant. He didn't resist but just followed after my pull. We reached the car and I made sure he was in and the door to his side was well locked before I also ventured into the car. Call me crazy but I knew he could just get out again, and go back to bounce on the poor Alpha. If I hadn't acted fast, he could have gone real wild. Yes, I know."Gosh!"he released a puff of breathe from his lungs. Studying his features, he looks tensed and quite uncomfortable. I almost looked away from him when I caught the glimpse of his hand tightening against the seat's leather.I didn't know when I uttered, neither when I reached my hand to start soothing his arm. "Relax, Chase. It's okay now."And truly, my action calmed him down immediately.****ChaseI let the driver dro
Chapter 12Elena's povJust when Chase left with the car after dropping me home, I was in my room when a knock sounded on the window, causing my suspicion. I rolled on my stomach and casted my eyes in the direction. The obvious fact that the person at the door couldn't pass through the securities outside, but decided to come in through my window visualised something just isn't right.A second nasty knock made me lose it all, as I dragged my feet out of bed and stalked towards the window. A gasp escaped my lips and I quickly back away with a few steps when I saw a hole been punched into the window. I have to get out of here, now!Having not locked the door, it was easy for me to flung the door aside and bolt out of it. "Where the fuck is she?"A thunderous murderous voice half yelled exasperatedly with stress, followed by knocking down of stuffs. Getting the sense that they had already hijacked into my room, I hastened my footings and it felt as if my body was now light weighted becaus
Chapter 13Chase's povI sat in the double couch and watched in anticipation as the guards frantically searched the nook and crannies of the mansion for her. Safety; that was one thing she never had."Alpha,"My Beta, Ace, saunters over to my front. "Her bedroom is the only place where s clue lies. Her door was been punched before they were able to knock down her window. They must have taken her with them by then."he finished."You know what to do, Ace."I simply said, maintaining my calmness."Yes Alpha. I'll get the competent pack's wolves alongside myself so we could trace their scents."he said, walking away and going to get to work while the men continued their search for yet another clue to the incident that would help."Assemble every worker to the hall room."Without muttering anymore words, I rose up and went to my chamber. I stripped out of my clothing and picked out a black robe from my closet and got it on. I reached the door, and before I walked right out of it, I withdrew my
