Elena's pov

I was thrown into my room by my father's men. They locked the door and left thereafter. I moved over to my window and let it open, then, walked to stand myself before my make-up table and watched my reflection in the mirror. My hair was so disheveled like never before. While my face, my face still had the imprinted hand of my father's slap on it. I drew my gaze down to my lips. Gosh, it looks so busted.

I heard the chirping of the night bird from outside, which caught my attention.

Looking outside the window, I couldn't see a thing. It was the white chandelier light in my room that lighted up my room. The sudden rumble thunderstorm in the sky had me hurriedly jamming my window closed. What's happening? This is strange, I would say.
