33: The Bait

Arda shut her eyes, resigned to her fate. She could feel the sharp points of Sue’s pressing fangs pushing against her skin. She could hear Sue’s animalistic grunts and pants. Any second and the fangs would pierce her skin.

With every passing second, her fangs were digging into her skin, and down it went to the point of causing discomfort. Sue was going slow, perhaps affected by Gillow’s coaxing interference. It didn’t feel like Sue would stop anytime soon.

Arda heard a growl. It was darker, scarier, and laced with control and authority. She had to open her eyes. She knew it wasn’t Sue.

Deep down, she already knew who it was, before opening her eyes. It was Gillow, crouching low to Sue’s level, meeting her eye to eye. His teeth were clamped together as he snarled at her, panting, grunting.

Sue’s animalistic sounds began to reduce. Her grip on Arda started to slack.
