Chapter 9: First Flying Experience

Marsai’s POV

I fidgeted nervously in my seat, as I had never driven on a plane before, I tried comporting myself by staring straight ahead at the view outside the plane window.

The only sound that could be heard between myself and Asher was the low hum of airplane engines. I stole a quick glance at him from beneath my dark lashes, wondering if he was still mad at me.

Asher didn't seem bothered by anything, as he leaned his head against the seat with his eyes closed. He looked like any other bored passenger flying to their destination—calm and composed while waiting for takeoff.

Despite the fact that he demanded for me, we have never been in such an enclosed space together before this moment - not since things changed between them after last week's mission when they were thrown into chaos without backup.

The air was thick with tension between us, we were opposites who nevertheless shared a bond forged through firefights and danger.
