Luca stormed into the Van Driscoll Global building like a damn hurricane.

His shoes hit the floor hard—thud, thud, thud—echoing through the sleek marble lobby. Heads turned. Workers froze. No one said a word.

They knew that look on his face.

Pure rage.

And with Luca… it was better to mind your business.

“Son of a bitch,” he muttered under his breath.

He didn’t stop. Didn’t slow. Just headed straight for the elevator.

The security guards glanced at each other—but didn’t move. They knew better.

Luca jabbed the elevator button like it owed him something. When the doors slid open, he stepped in and slammed the TOP FLOOR button.

“Fucking old man,” he growled. “Even dead, you’re still screwing with my life.”

He leaned back against the elevator wall, jaw tight, chest rising fast.

What kind of father leaves a will like that?

Work with your brothers or lose everything?

Bullshit.

He stared at the numbers lighting up on the elevator screen.

4th floor. 5th. 6th…

Each one felt like a countdown to disaster.

“That selfish bastard,” he hissed. “You couldn’t just die in peace, huh?”

He ran a hand through his hair, pacing the small space.

“I swear to God… one year? With those two?”

He let out a bitter laugh.

“This is hell.”

Ding.

The elevator doors slid open. Luca didn’t hesitate.

He walked straight down the hall and shoved open Leo’s office door without knocking.

It slammed against the wall with a loud crack.

Leo, mid-sentence, was speaking to Mr. Edwards and a junior attorney.

“I still can't believe the old man did this to me. He knew how much I loved this company. The rest don't even care about it the way I do—”

His words trailed off.

Everyone turned.

“Ugh… this place smells like bullshit and ghosts,” someone muttered from the doorway. “Exactly like the old man.”

Luca walked in, chewing his gum like it had wronged him. His jaw worked hard. His glare swept the room like a storm.

“God, I hate this place,” he grumbled, loud enough for everyone to hear.

Mr. Edwards adjusted his glasses. “You’re here quite early.”

Luca’s face twisted with annoyance. “What other options do I have?” he said flatly, dropping into the nearest chair like it owed him rent.

Legs apart. Arms stretched lazily over the armrests.

“I can’t believe that old bastard is still winning,” he scoffed. “Even from the grave. Like this was some kind of sick joke.”

Mr. Edwards opened his mouth, maybe to suggest some professionalism—

But Luca was faster.

“Don’t start with the legal moral high-ground talk, old man,” he snapped. “If he wanted respect, he should’ve died with some.”

Leo stood slowly. His expression was all sharp edges.

“If you hate being here so damn much,” he said tightly, “why the hell did you show up at all?”

Luca rolled his eyes. “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe because Daddy Dearest said if I don’t, I lose the only thing keeping my bank account alive?”

Leo’s jaw flexed. His voice dropped low and furious.

“You don’t deserve a single share of this company.”

Luca just blinked. “Aww.”

“You never gave a damn about it,” Leo growled. “You never lifted a finger. While you were out partying with strippers, I was building something that mattered.”

Luca let out a dry laugh. “And yet… here we are. Equal shares. Isn’t life fun?”

“Enough!” Mr. Edwards cut in, raising his voice for the first time.

Silence fell.

Mr. Edwards exhaled, pushing his glasses up again.

“Gentlemen, please. This isn’t helping.”

Leo turned away, fists clenched, breathing hard.

“I can’t believe I’m forced to share oxygen with this joke.”

“I’d be offended if I gave a damn,” Luca said coolly, leaning further into the chair.

Mr. Edwards tried to steer them back. “We were just discussing the paperwork. Jace reached out. Said he would be signing.”

That made both brothers pause.

Luca stopped chewing.

“Ghost brother? That’s weird,” he muttered. “Didn’t think the Ice Prince would care enough to join the family mess.”

Even Leo blinked. “He actually agreed?”

Mr. Edwards gave a small nod. “I was surprised too. I didn’t think he would… but he said he’ll sign. He should be on his way. I’ll try calling him now.”

He pulled out his phone and dialed. Waited. Then frowned.

No answer.

He tried again. Still nothing.

Luca raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.

“Let me guess…” he said, dragging out the words. “The bastard’s not answering.”

“Luca, please,” Mr. Edwards muttered.

Luca sat up, sarcasm dropping into irritation.

“What? He wants to do the same disappearing act he pulled at the will reading? Does that bastard even know I work with time?"

“Manners,” Leo snapped.

Luca shot him a look. "Save it for the boardroom."

Then the door clicked.

All eyes snapped toward the entrance.

The door swung open.

And someone stepped inside.

Her voice was trembling, her hands trembled as she gripped the hem of her dress, forcing herself to stay composed.Leo stared at her, his heart shattering, but one thing was clear—he wasn’t ready to back down. He could still see it in her eyes, the truth she tried so hard to hide. She still loved him."Is that really what you want? Or is it what Vincent and the rest of the world want from you?" he asked, his eyes locked on hers.Diane’s throat bobbed as she swallowed, but she forced herself to stay calm. "Does… does it matter?"Leo chuckled bitterly and stepped closer. "Then I’m afraid, Diane… I’m not letting you go."Her eyes fluttered, lips parting slightly in shock."I’ve spent years looking for you, praying to find you again. And now that I have, you think I’ll just let you slip away? Never.""What... what are you talking about?" She stuttered, her heart racing."Do you think I’m not hurting too?" His voice cracked. "The day I broke up with you, I stopped being myself. I went back

"Mr. Leo Van Driscoll, this way please," a worker said as soon as Leo walked into the hotel lobby. He nodded once, then followed her calmly to a private lounge. His heart pounded in his chest. He had received a message directly from Diane an hour ago asking that they meet up. He didn’t understand why she wanted to see him all of a sudden, especially after denying the rumour in front of the whole world. But whatever it was, it only made him nervous. The worker stopped at the door, gesturing for him to enter. He took a deep breath and stepped inside, his pulse racing."You came sooner than I expected," Diane’s voice echoed across the room.Leo turned his head and their eyes met. Diane was sitting in the corner, still wearing the same outfit from the conference. Her expression was unreadable, but he could see the sadness sitting heavy in her eyes."Of course I had to," Leo walked quickly toward her. "You suddenly wished to see me. It must be important."She had never once called or texte

The flashes of the cameras still burned in Diane’s eyes as she walked down the hallway, her lawyer beside her. The press conference was finally over, but the words she had spoken lingered in her chest like a stone. She denied him."You did well. This will help calm things down.”Her lawyer said, giving her a reassuring smile before leaving her with Vincent.Diane didn’t reply. Her throat felt tight, as if every word she had spoken to the cameras had scraped her raw.The car ride home was silent. Vincent sat beside her, his jaw clenched, eyes on the city rushing by outside the tinted windows.Diane stared at her own hands resting on her lap. They were shaking, as if she had done something unforgivable. And maybe she had. That morning she woke up with a scandal big enough to ruin her name. Everyone around her thought denying it was the smartest move. But now that she had, her chest ached. Because the one person she truly denied was Leo.Vincent then broke the silence, muttering under hi

Leo sat heavily in his chair, still shaken from the conference. Diane had denied him—and it hurt. He understood why she did it, he really did, but that didn’t stop the sting. It felt like he had truly lost her to another man, to Vincent. Like their love would forever remain a sin, something to be hidden in the shadows. And he hated that more than anything. The sudden swing of his office door startled him. His sigh deepened when he saw Luca barge in, followed closely by Jace. He didn’t need to ask why they were there. Of course, they had heard. Everyone had.Luca stormed forward, his face tight with fury and disappointment. He had warned him how risky it was to be with that woman, but he didn’t listen. Now see the scandal it had landed him.“I told you, Leo. I warned you,” he spat, his voice sharp. "I told you this would blow up in your face. But you wouldn’t listen. And now? You’ve dragged yourself into a scandal big enough to choke the whole family.”Luca wasn’t even angry that Leo w

Jace’s heart thudded heavily as his fingers brushed lightly across Sarah’s cheek. For the past twenty minutes, he had done nothing but watch her sleep, memorizing every detail of her face as though she were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Then, her lashes fluttered, and her eyes slowly opened. The moment their gazes met, Jace’s stomach flipped, a rush of warmth surging through him. “Good morning, sunshine,” he greeted, his smile lighting up his whole face. Sarah smiled back and snuggled into his arms. “Good morning, honey,” she whispered, closing her eyes again as she inhaled his scent. Her heart felt so full. These past two days in his apartment had been like a dream...days cut off from the world’s troubles, days where they only ate, made love, slept, and repeated the cycle. “I believe you slept well,” Jace said softly. Sarah smiled. Slept well was an understatement. Instead of answering, she pulled him closer and kissed him gently. “You must be hungry now.

Luca parked his car outside the hospital, his fingers tapping impatiently on the steering wheel. He couldn’t believe he was here again, waiting for Rhea. Two nights ago, he had been at the Gala party when she called him. Without thinking, he left the party and drove across the city to pick her up from a club. Yesterday, she had asked him to come to this hospital, and he did. Today, she hadn’t even called him—yet here he was, waiting again, as if it had become his duty.He shook his head, frustrated.“When did you become a chauffeur, Luca?” he muttered aloud, cursing himself. “What the hell is wrong with you?”It was so unlike him. He wasn’t the type to run around after anyone. Not even his closest friends got this kind of treatment. And yet here he was, playing driver for Rhea Voss—the same woman who had once punched him, humiliated him, and made him swear he would make her kneel for mercy. Now? He was waiting to pick her up like a fool.“You really need to see a doctor, Luca. You’re
