DAMON

“Drop your sabers, Mr. and Mrs. Claw,” Luciano said smoothly, his voice carrying an unnatural weight that sent chills down my spine. He casually stood, pulling his pants on with an unbothered air, as if he hadn’t just turned my world upside down. “Now, walk to your room, get some rest, and forget everything you saw tonight. It’s better that way—for all of us.”

I blinked, stunned into silence as my parents immediately obeyed. Their weapons clattered to the ground, and without a word, they turned and walked out, their faces blank and eerily calm. It was as if they were sleepwalking, utterly detached from reality.

“What the hell…” I whispered, watching them disappear into the hallway. “Why are they doing what you said? Did you hypnotize them?”

Luciano’s gaze flicked to me, his expression unreadable. He adjusted the cuffs of his shirt like this was the most mundane thing in the world. “You could say I… encouraged them. It’s a little trick I’ve picked up over the years.”

I stepped closer, desperate for clarity. “They won’t remember anything when they wake up, right? Please tell me they won’t.”

He tilted his head slightly, a faint smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. “No, they won’t. I’ve ensured they’ll wake up blissfully ignorant.” He paused, his dark eyes locking onto mine. “You looked like you were about to faint back there. I couldn’t let that happen, could I?”

"Luciano, you fucking asshole. You think that would be a blissful way to gain my trust, don't you? Apart from forgetting, what else would happen to them?" I stepped closer, locking my gaze with his so my message that I didn't trust him one bit would get passed on and received properly.

"Shouldn't you be thanking me?" Luciano tilted his head to a side and I gritted my teeth together. It's imperative for me to remember that I and this man was having sex few minutes ago.

"What else might happen to them? You can't just encanto my parents and expect me to believe and thank you. Vampires are not trustworthy!" I yelled and he raised his hands like he was in surrender.

"Encanto? I wouldn't believe you know what the word means but trust me, there are no side effects. I was just saving your life, as always. A thank you is necessary." I stated.

"Fuck you."

Luciano’s smirk deepened, and there was something in his expression—something dark and knowing—that made my stomach twist in both fear and longing. “Oh, Damon,” he purred, his voice like velvet laced with sin, “there are far more interesting ways I’d prefer to be thanked… but we’ll save that for another night.”

Before I could respond, he stepped closer and brushed a kiss against my forehead, lingering just long enough to leave my skin tingling.

“I have somewhere to be, *Pooh Bear.*” The nickname sounded almost taunting as it rolled off his tongue. He buttoned his shirt with deliberate precision, his movements slow and calculated. “Enjoy your night. For now.”

And just like that, he turned and slipped out of the room, leaving me alone with the echoes of his words—and the unmistakable reminder that, no matter how much I wanted to believe otherwise, Luciano Salvatore was not a man I could ever truly control.

The next morning, I woke up earlier than usual, my nerves already on edge.

I needed to confirm whether my parents truly remembered nothing—or if Luciano’s powers whatsoever had failed to erase the events of the previous night and if there had been any side effects.

*Side effects* The thought itself had kept me on edge the enter night.

“Good morning, Mum. Morning, Dad,” I greeted, forcing a casual tone as they walked into the kitchen. My fists clenched and unclenched in my pockets, the nervous energy practically coursing through my body.

“You’re up early,” Mum remarked, heading straight for the coffee machine. Her voice was as calm and familiar as ever, but I couldn’t shake the anxiety twisting in my gut.

“You look exhausted,” I said, trying to sound conversational while carefully observing her every move.

“Was the ceremony that unbearable? I left right after I got my task.” Dad chuckled lightly as he grabbed a slice of toast.

“Ceremonies are always exhausting, son. You’ll get used to it.” I hesitated, deciding to push a little further.

“Speaking of tasks…” I trailed off, keeping my tone neutral.

“Oh!” Mum turned back to face me, her expression suddenly thoughtful. “You know, I had the strangest dream last night. I could’ve sworn I saw Luciano Salvatore.”

My stomach dropped, but I forced a small smile as I bit the inside of my cheek to keep calm.

“Really?” I asked, my voice tight.

Dad frowned, his brows knitting together.

“That’s odd. I had the same dream. He looked… familiar, almost friendly.”

“Right? That's how he was in my own dream.” Mum said raising her head like she was trying to remember.

“Tsk, forget it. I’m too tired to even think.” He paused, exchanging a glance with Mum. “You need to be careful. Dreams like that can be a sign. Luciano Salvatore is dangerous.” Mum nodded, her face etched with concern.

“If he’s your task, the best way to handle it is simple: get close to him. Make him trust you. Pretend to be a friend.” Her voice dropped to a whisper, as if the walls themselves might overhear. “And then strike when he least expects it.”

They didn’t remember last night. Not a single thing.

And yet, somehow, Luciano still lingered in their subconscious.

This is interesting. Absolutely interesting.

DamonI left his office after that. Don had come to give him some urgent information that had come. I used that opportunity to leave him. His words and actions hadn't left my head, it was still there. What he had told me. The date he wanted me to come on. I knew my answer. There wasn't enough time to say no but it was that and he knew that. I wouldn't be coming. I didn't want to come. He wouldn't string me back in. I fell on my bed as soon as I reached my room, taking a breath of relief. The tension that had been in my body when I was with him, naturally went away. He always made me nervous, this strange feeling in my bones and heart. The way he made everything in my body dysfunctional, I hated it. I began to pack my things so I could distract myself. He was on my mind constantly. Tomorrow we would be leaving and there was already little time left. It was late afternoon already, we would soon have lunch. After which I planned for a walk about and then after that it would be dinn

  • Bound By Fate, Burned By Love    Episode 96

DamonWhen I woke up, I felt an energy that was charged and familiar. I didn't need to see him to know that he had arrived. Luciano was back. It was confirmed when Juliet knocked on the door to say that breakfast would be earlier because the boss was here and I had only thirty minutes to get ready. Today was supposed to be the last day. After that, by morning we would be getting ready to be on our way. This mini vacation had been quite relaxing, I didn't anticipate going back. I took a shower before changing into my clothes for the day. Since it was warmer, I felt more comfortable to wear something that was light. I took my phone and headed out, going to the dining room. I met a few of my colleagues, especially Bethany, so we both walked together. “He came back fast. I wonder why he had to leave so suddenly" she speculated to me as we walked. I shrugged, not saying anything because the truth was deeper than any of them could imagine. When we arrived at the dining room, we took o

Luciano As soon as I left the house with Tristan, I asked him to go ahead while I took a detour. I didn't want to head straight there because whoever among us was playing this game was about to make a mistake. Instead, I went to where most of the hunters usually lay low. As I pulled into the driveway of the house I noticed its emptiness. Maybe they had left here, in anticipation of my arrival. I walked out of my car and towards the door, it was locked shut of course and the inside was dead silent. Without attempting to knock first, I broke the door down and walked inside. The sitting room was large, one that usually held in a lot of people I assumed. Inside, there was no sign of life. Everywhere was clean, so tidy like a soul didn't stay here. I listened for anything but silence met me. I went up the stairs where most of the main rooms were. With each door I opened I was met with emptiness. It seemed I had judged wrong and this house was empty. Making sure that upstairs was ind

DamonWe had dinner that night without the presence of Luciano. I could hear some of them wondering among themselves why he wasn't here. I didn't say anything out loud because I was wondering the same too. It seemed strange that he would just leave. Unless of course something happened. Maybe something had gone wrong. Which was why he had met me so quickly and left just as quick. That explained that. He hadn't even sent a text. Nothing to say that he was leaving and when he would be coming back, if he was going to come back because I didn't expect so. Dave leaned in closer to speak to me. “I wonder if he had to leave because of something he couldn't speak about" I knew from his tone what he meant. I turned to look at him, wondering what to respond to that. I chose a shrug, “Well, I don't really care about any of that. He's the boss after all" He smiled and looked away, back to whom he had been speaking about. I hadn't sensed any malicious intent in his voice so I shook my doubts

Luciano Just after we had finished the race, Tristan had come to me. The look on his face wasn't one that was pleasant or happy even. He was about to tell me what the issue was but then Don had to make an announcement and I had to follow next. I quickly gave a congratulatory speech and said something about the gifts. My eyes hadn't left Damon for a minute since I had arrived here. After so many weeks of being away, I was glad to see him again. He was nervous about everyone finding out the truth but I didn't know how to tell him not to worry about it. Nobody would know because I made sure they wouldn't. After saying congratulations, I went straight to where Tristan sat and pulled him aside. He needed to tell me what the issue was or I wouldn't be able to relax. He didn't look me in the eye when he said it. “A group of our vampires were killed earlier today sir. Killed brutally, they were hunters" he said. My eyes immediately went up to meet him. I began to blaze with anger and r

  • Bound By Fate, Burned By Love    Episode 92

DamonI jumped down from the house and began to run around, screaming my lungs out in happiness. It wasn't that this was a professional race or anything but it had been so long since I had raced. I didn't even think I had it in me anymore. It was a surprise, a pleasant one that I had won. I could hear the shouts behind me, coming from my coworkers as well. I turned back around and ran back towards them. Some of them ran to me as well, carrying me up like I had won a medal or trophy. You would think this was a very vital competition. Once the celebration wore off, I took the horses back to the stable and went to sit with everyone else. They high fived me as I took my seat. There was a huge smile on my face since I couldn't hold my happiness back. This wasn't an important win per say but it had raised my spirits. My eyes met his amidst all the talk and conversation, he had a proud smile on his face, one that he sent towards me along with a wink. I looked away quickly before anybod
