Couldn’t Resist

Sofia POV

I couldn’t find my voice. He’s Luca Moretti? The most powerful mafia syndicate? No! What have I gotten myself into…

“Looks like you’re thinking about something, aren’t you?” Luca said, breaking my thoughts before I could speak.

“Well, I’m not. Just say what you want and leave, Luca.”

My father looked terrified. The fear in his eyes showed that he truly knew who Luca was, and that scared me even more.

“You heard your daughter, right? She asked me to leave.”

“No, please,” my father begged, trembling. “I beg you on her behalf. Forgive her. We’ll do anything you want, sir.”

Before I could react, one of Luca’s men punched my father in the face. He groaned in pain and could barely stay on his knees.

“You should’ve taught your daughter some manners,” Luca said coldly, grabbing my father by the collar.

“Let my father go, Luca. I’ll do whatever you want me to do,” I stuttered, tears welling up in my eyes.

He was still my father — the only family I had left. I couldn’t stand to lose him too.

“You’re going to come with me,” Luca said firmly, “and start a new life with me.”

My heart almost stopped. Who in the world has a one-night stand with a stranger and then demands she live with him afterward?

Isn’t that some sick shit ? Of course, I didn’t dare say it aloud — not if I wanted to keep my throat intact.

“She’s yours for life, sir,” my father said coldly. “Do whatever you want with her. I don’t care.”

His words hit me like a knife. I’d always known my father hated me, but this? I was the only child left for me, yet he didn’t even try to hide his disgust.

“Looks like you truly mean nothing to him,” Luca muttered. “That works in my favor. Now get in the car.”

I froze. My body wouldn’t move, and one of his men came closer, gripping my arm roughly to drag me toward the car.

But before he could, Luca kicked him hard in the knee.

“You bastard! Did I tell you to touch her?” he snapped.

What the hell was this? Why was he acting so obsessed with me? For goodness’ sake, I was just a nobody.

And just like that, I left my father’s house and ended up in Luca’s mansion.

The place looked like a fortress — hidden behind tall gates and thick hedges. When we arrived, the massive double doors opened into a grand marble foyer with a sweeping staircase and a crystal chandelier.

Holy crap… this must’ve cost a fortune.

“Stop staring and go upstairs,” Luca ordered. “Get dressed and meet me at the dining room.”

I obeyed quietly as one of his men led me to the room. It was bigger than my entire house —easily a hundred times larger.

I sank into the warm bath, finally letting myself relax — until a loud bang made me jump.

Before I could react, Luca was standing in front of me, his eyes on my bare skin.

“How dare you barge in like that?” I snapped, covering myself.

“Everything here belongs to me, remember?” he said calmly. “Your body, your soul… and your life. You’ll breathe for me, Sofia. You’ll live for me and do whatever I tell you.”

“I don’t belong to anyone, Luca,” I said sharply, though my heart betrayed my words. “No matter what you do, I’ll never belong to you.”

I turned to grab some clothes, but his voice stopped me cold.

“Don’t you dare walk away while I’m still talking to you, Sofia. I won’t tolerate that.”

He stepped closer. “Now, get back into the tub and watch me do whatever I want with you.”

Gosh! My whole body trembled. I hated how weak I felt, how my body betrayed me the moment his hands touched me.

He lifted me gently and placed me back in the water.

“Goodness, Sofia,” he whispered, his breath warm against my skin. “You smell so good. I can’t get enough of you.”

Then he kissed my neck — slow, deep, and full of hunger. I should’ve pushed him away… but instead, I wanted more.

Sofia! Come to your senses! I screamed in my head. You can’t let this happen again.

I was lost in my thoughts when a sudden knock came from the door.

“Boss. He’s here.”

Luca froze. His confident expression vanished, replaced by fear. Whoever had just arrived was clearly someone he dreaded.

“Get up and stay behind the curtain,” he whispered urgently.

“What? Why should I?” I stammered.

“Now, Sofia! Do as I say!”

I jumped up and hid behind the curtain near the shower. Luca closed the bathroom door gently, almost nervously.

Then I heard a deep, thunderous voice.

“You bastard!” A loud punch followed. “How dare you lose such a huge amount of money? I regret having you as my son!”

My eyes widened. His father? The most feared mafia lord in the country?

No… this couldn’t be real. I needed to get out of here — fast. My hands shook, and in panic, I accidentally pulled the curtain, causing it to fall loudly to the floor.

The sound was faint — but not faint enough.

They both heard it.

Oh no. I was doomed. My heart raced as tears filled my eyes. This can’t be the end of me. Not like this. I still have so much I want to do.

I was crying quietly when the door creaked open…

— and that’s when everything went silent.
