"Let’s fill our bellies before we go."

Gerald forced his way through the roaring pack crowd. He longed to walk at Elena’s side, but his gaze locked on another male guiding her away. His forehead tightened, a quiet snarl slipping out, “Who is he?”

As the circle broke, Dolphus’s level gaze fell on Elena, with radiating control.

"I can only ask you to assist me," his tone was calm, "because we need to prepare for our wedding registration tomorrow. We must leave early in the morning together."

His words left no opening for refusal. Elena gave a small nod.

Arwen, attuned to the tension, volunteered to gather Elena’s items from the hotel. Swiftly, she hailed a taxi and she left.

The hotel where Dolphus stayed wasn’t far from the restaurant. Stepping out, Elena raised her face, the cold snowflakes clinging to her lashes before dissolving into beads of water. She stretched out her hands, laughing softly as she tried to trap the fleeting flakes before they disappeared.

Dolphus’s laugh came out

"Based on the current capacity of our company, can we make it within a month?" Drake asked. The manager’s head lowered, shoulders tense as though he felt Drake's pressure pressing on him. What worried Drake more was not only the raw material but the weakness of their pack’s cash flow. If Durok Biotech Company did not give support, their veins would run dry before the first moon cycle ended."Given our current capacity and finances, it will be impossible to meet the deadline in one month. However... It is a golden hunt." The manager drew in a breath, gathering courage. "We can exploit loopholes in the accord. I have read it carefully, boss. It does not forbid us from outsourcing. We could let outsiders take part of the work, though it means sharing the profits generated from it. It would bleed some of our profit, but as long as we keep getting new orders, the pack will still gain strength."Donald’s eyes glowed faintly under the dim light. "Do this. Send a copy of the accord to me, and

Back then, Elena’s heart had been sweet, filled with warmth whenever Drake was near. But now, not a single ripple moved inside her chest. The years had hardened her, and Drake had not grown at all. He still stood in the same place, clinging to his childishness.“The main reason for my visit today,” Elena said, “is that Durok Biotech Company has promised to provide Crescent University with a new batch of advanced laboratory equipment. The overseas suppliers are already in motion, and the shipment will arrive after the hearing. Could the machines be placed into the new laboratory building now?”The Vice Chancellor’s eyes brightened. His shoulders lifted, and his fangs flashed slightly when he smiled. “This is excellent news! The new building is ready, waiting only for the equipment. Elena, you must thank the founder of Durok Biotech Company for me. We have sent invitations many times, but the founder has refused to visit our halls or give a speech. Such a low profile for one of such pow

"This one you're sounding like this, it seems that you need one portion for your cousin, Drake?" Lucian’s voice lowered, then he moved to a more noiseless place. "That portion that I used on Elena is very strong. It can turn a pure maiden into a street hawk.”“Its fire takes hold within ten minutes. My friend won his long-awaited goddess with it. She cried out under its spell, unable to resist. There is no time to carry them to hospital once it enters the blood. But the potion is rare now, strictly guarded."Every word Lucian spoke dragged him deeper into a pit he had once tried to bury.Back then, Elena had drunk the potion. Ten minutes later, its heat consumed her. She had waited, helpless, before leaving that place. Lucian had been escorted back by Dolphus’s bodyguard.Would Dolphus really stand idle, letting Elena fall into another’s arms?Drake’s hand shook as he ended the call. He ripped at his tie, desperate for air.But one last spark of hope burned inside him. He dialed Dolphu

Knowing Elena had drugged Drake in the past. They finally understood why Drake's madness for her had burned so fierce before his amnesia. Drake had once nearly killed someone for Elena. The memory was still whispered among the packs. He had lifted a student from Crescent academy by the collar. Ready to hurl the boy off the rooftop. If not for Elena’s sharp voice cutting through the haze, that student would have been nothing more than a broken corpse. Elena’s command alone had stopped Donald’s beast that night. Now, standing here again, the same storm raged inside him. Could it be… had Drake regained his memory?Without Elena speaking a word, Drake pressed harder on Joan's head, his boot grinding against bone. Joan's body shook under him. “Lady Elena, I’m worthless! I pretended to be Drake’s cousin, but I am nothing. Please… tell him to spare me. I’ll never dare again! If you want, you can strike me yourself, just please call him off!”Joan's mind flashed with old stories. He had hea

"Oh, right!" The private detective rummaged through his bag. He pulled out a thick medical report. He placed it on the wooden table, sliding it across to Elena. "This is the medical report of Drake. You need to put more interest in this. This report comes free of charge, as a thank you for your years of supporting our agency."Amelia’s eyes moved over the paper. After finishing reading the donation certificate from the Hamilton Corporation, she pulled the report closer. She read every line that revealed Drake’s memory was gradually returning. The detective leaned forward, expecting her to react. But Elena’s face was still. He shifted awkwardly and rubbed his nose. "Lady Elena, I wasn't expecting this kind of reaction from you."Elena closed the medical record with a snap. She placed it on the low table. "In the future, do not meddle in my affairs unless I call for you." She said this coldly. "Ok!" The detective raised his hand, fingers curling into an ‘OK’ sign. But curiosity itched

Drake slammed the door. His mother gathered her flowing cape around her shoulders.Out in his car, Drake gripped the wheel. His mother’s words clawed at his mind.“I heard Elena’s voice when I was on the phone with Gerald this morning.”The growl built in his throat,, as the memory struck deeper. Driving fast through the dark road, he let one hand rest on the wheel while the other dragged through his hair. Memories clawed their way back without mercy. He was young again, back in high school, when the pack had sent their pups to a military training camp. Another boy, bold and foolish, had confessed his feelings to Elena. Without a thought, Drake gave the boy a very heavy blow on his jaw..Elena did not scold him. Instead, she had dragged him to the infirmary, her soft hands pressing a swab to the cut at the corner of his mouth. Before Drake what he was doing, his lips had brushed hers. It was a light fleeting kiss. The taste of her had stunned him. And shame chased him out the door.
