Chapter 7

“Hands off my man.” I said in a cold, chilling voice that the woman was dropping her hands off him like she had touched hot coal.

“Woaw. My bad, I had no idea he was taken.” She said raising her hands in surrender to show that she meant no harm.

“Easy there, Tiger,” Alex said, his hands wrapping around my waist and drawing me closer to him. "Cassandra here is my cousin, and we stumbled into each other in the mall. She just came to say hello.”

“Oh.” My voice was low and small as I felt color rush to my face. “I’m sorry about that.” I apologized, stretching my hand for a handshake.

She took my hands, and I looked down at her well-manicured fingers, a far cry from mine, and my cheeks were aflame. Her palms were so soft, like she had never been exposed to menial jobs before, while mine were nothing to write home about.

“It is fine; I know what it is like when you are in love. Trust me, I would be like that with any girl I catch around my man.” She said it with an eye roll, and I chuckled.
