Maya's POV

The rest of dinner went on normally, but I could sense the tension in the air.

Roland and Ella kept giving each other awkward stares, and once in a while, I noticed that Ella looked at me as if she was waiting for me to burst into a ball of fire and burn up.

Luckily for me, that didn't happen, and we got to finish our food.

By that time, I was already eager to go to sleep once more.

The more I dreamt about the blue eyed man, the more I felt like I was having more control over my drea

Maya's POV‘My man?’That statement hit me like a fucking airbus.I stared at Ella in disbelief from the words that left her mouth. From the day I opened my eyes from the alleged accident that I had, I knew that I was only dealing with a jealous sister. How quickly the tables turned and she finally cracked.“What the hell did you just say?" I questioned, looking at her and thinking that perhaps I might have heard it differently. But I knew that I didn't.Ella said those words.“You heard me!" She snapped, taking a step closer.Over the weeks, I had seen her become more aggressive towards me with her insults. This time, I could tell that she was about to take it a step further. She was literally frothing at the corners of her mouth, and her hands were shaking from anger. One wrong move, and she was ready to swing at me full force.I wasn't even done processing what she had said and what it meant.“You…and Roland…”"...Yes…me and Roland are a thing.Well, we used to be a thing before yo

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 113

Maya's POVThe last dream that I had about the dark haired man haunted me for days.It had gotten to a point where I had a very strong feeling that he could have been part of my life before. The occurrences were just one too many.It got to a point where I started questioning whether it was possible that the man was a part of my life before I met Roland. But why would those be the kind of dreams that I was having when I was already married to another man.And why did the name Maya always invoke an awkward and tense reaction from both Roland and his sister Ella.Over the next few days after that dream and the dinner that I had with Ella and Roland, something changed.Roland started being more romantic. He started making me food and even doing small gestures such as bringing me gifts and the like.I won't lie.Despite the questions that were lingering in the air about the dreams and whether he was hiding something from me, he was really working on trying to build what we had.Countless

Jasper's POVIf asked the words that I would have used to describe the man that Cassian had turned into from the day that Maya was kidnaped, I don't think I would have been able to find them. That's because he didn't just turn into one thing, but a whole lot of things.Sometimes, I would look into his eyes and see that he wasn't in the world that I was in.Most times, he would look into the distance with the 1000 yard stare, and other times, he would simply look lost. His wolf was clearly starting to get the better of him.I started getting concerned. He was starting to act out.A couple of times, he shifted and ran into the woods in the middle of the night, and only came back in the morning. At first, I used to send some of the most skilled warriors to trail him, and make sure that he wasn't a danger to himself in those woods. But the third time he came back, drenched in the blood of rogues that dared cross his path, I stopped bothering. If there was any man that was dangerous beyond

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 111

Maya's POVTurns out, the dreams weren't the only thing that I needed to watch out for. That night, when I didn't take the pills given to me by the doctor, something stranger than dreaming about another man happened. As I was on the verge of falling asleep and being conscious, I felt like someone was watching me.Only this time, it didn't feel like it was the maids.I was all alone in my room, that one I had made sure of before I tucked myself under the blankets. My heart didn't race the way I expected it to.In fact, I felt more at ease with whatever or whoever was watching me, than when I was with Roland at any moment. It didn't feel right. However, I didn't wake up, nor did I toss my head to investigate whether there was something watching me.My eyes were heavy and so was my head. The slightest movement demanded a lot of energy from me, and sleep was winning the battle between my brain and my body.I finally drifted into deep sleep, but that night, there was no dark haired man.I

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 109

Maya's POVAnother day went by, and this meant another dream with the same blue-eyed man.He still never spoke to me, except the few times that he called me a name that wasn't mine. The locations that I started dreaming I was in were changing. From the forest, to the huge castle, and even in the mountains. The most recent one, was the one where I was in the mountains, and he appeared from the shadows. It had started to become a norm, to the point where I didn't even feel scared at all when I heard the branches snapping and his heavy footsteps on the forest floor. He walked past me, and I was inclined to follow him.I went up the mountain with him, and I'll be honest when I say that I don't remember how we got to the top.The man walked to one side of the flatbed that we were on at the top, and looked in the distance, pointing for me to see as well. When I stood next to him and stared into the distance, I was certain that I was looking at a huge town, down in the valley. From the light

Declan's POV: The council chamber felt smaller than usual with me seated at the head, fingers drumming once against the wood before I forced them still. My mother, Victoria, occupied the chair to my right, her posture ramrod straight, lips pressed into that familiar line of disapproval. The Elders

Maya's POV:I could see the shock flash across Declan’s face the second the words left my mouth, his eyes widening just a fraction, jaw going slack for half a heartbeat before he caught himself and I wasn’t entirely surprised. He had always known how I felt. He had seen the way I looked at him acr

Maya's POV:“The child is mine.” His words echoed in my head as I clutched the wall, one hand pressed to the wood paneling and nails bit into the grain until my fingertips went numb. Inside, Victoria’s voice sliced through the silence.“What do you mean, the child is yours?” She demanded.“Six yea

Maya's POV:The grandfather clock in the living room had just struck eleven-thirty while I stood at the wide window, with the curtains balled in my fists as I stared down the moonlit drive until my eyes burned. Behind me the roast I’d spent the whole afternoon coaxing into tenderness sat cold on t
