LOGINIt is recommended to read Bound by Blood and Wrath before embarking on this next journey of the Vittori family. Sent to Briarwood, Pennsylvania, to establish a new seat of power for the Vittori Crime Family, Saint Vittori is tasked by his father, Dominic, with stepping out of the shadows after two decades of quiet survival. To secure his position, Saint is expected to marry strategically—choosing a woman who can strengthen the family’s influence. Instead, he falls in love with someone who offers no power, no connections, and everything he was warned against. When her unknowing betrayal shatters his trust and she later reveals she is pregnant, Saint is bound by ironclad family law: no Vittori heir will be born a bastard, and no Vittori marriage will end in divorce. Forced into a union forged by duty rather than certainty, Saint tightens his grip on Briarwood just as old enemies resurface. An attack by the Han family—ghosts from Dominic’s violent past—forces Saint to act decisively or be seen as weak. Alongside his loyal best friend, Wilder, he wages a brutal campaign to cleanse Briarwood, expanding into legitimate enterprises while silencing threats both criminal and political. As Senator Bryce Winthorpe learns too late, Saint Vittori always moves with a plan. Through bloodshed, loss, and calculated violence, Saint carves his place among Pennsylvania’s elite—knowing that every inch of power comes at a cost, and the Vittori family always collects in blood.
View MoreThe steam from the shower had fogged up the large mirror, and I used my towel to wipe it clean. My hair was on the longish side, having put off getting it cut. My mother would sit me down and rectify that oversight the moment I stepped foot in the house again.
It had taken 7 years to complete an undergraduate and master’s degree focused on business, finance, and economics. The work had been gruelling, but I didn’t regret a moment of it. I was almost 23 and ready for the next step in my life.
I’d be going home in two weeks, wanting to finish off the year with all the on-campus parties and packing up my studio apartment. I wanted to stay for the easy sex as well, since I’d focused on my final exams and not getting laid.
I left my towel on the counter and pulled on a pair of sweatpants. The bathroom door was slightly ajar, and I reached for the pistol that was hidden against the side of the potted plant as I stood to the side of the door.
“I have to wonder why you’re in my room. I have an idea of how you got inside, but I’m not above shooting you, family or not.”
A low chuckle came from the dark corner where an armchair stood next to a table. “I’m glad to see your senses still work. Getting in was a bit harder than I thought it would be, but not impossible.”
“Nothing’s impossible, but you triggered a silent alarm on my phone.”
“Liar. If I didn’t know you at all, I might have believed you,” he said.
“Why are you here?”
I stepped into my bedroom and switched the lights on. My uncle looked calm, relaxed even, as he sat in the armchair, no gun in sight. I wasn’t sure if that was a good sign or not. My uncle was still one of the best in the business. He was stealthy, cold and efficient, everything I’d been trained to be as well.
“I just came to check up on you.”
I huffed out a laugh. “I’m coming home in two weeks.”
“You’re coming home tonight. Your father’s pissed. This latest stunt might just be the one thing that makes him lose his mind. Nobody said to keep it in your pants, Saint, but a pregnant girl arriving on your father’s doorstep is equal to a social death sentence.”
“What?” I frowned. What pregnant girl?
“You know, the way you’ve gone through girls, I’m glad I have a daughter that shares your last name, though no dick’s getting close to her.”
“Unless she wants the dick to get close to her?” I knew I was pushing my luck. Gage could be volatile and even more so when it concerned his only daughter, Arya.
“I think I preferred the old family traditions of marrying you all off, at least then I’d know which dick to watch,” he said.
I chuckled. “Right, like that thought doesn’t make your skin crawl.”
“Shut the fuck up and pack a bag. Dominic will send someone to pack up the rest of your shit.”
There was no use arguing. If Dominic wanted me home, Gage would make sure I got home. “So, some girl showed up at the family house claiming to be pregnant with my child?” Gage nodded his head. “And let me guess, my father lost his fucking personality for a while so my mother swooped in and has been taking the brunt of his dominating punishment until I’m back at home.”
Gage laughed, the sound low and deep. “Once a fucking Vittori, always a Vittori. You’re a lot like him, but I doubt your mother will be pleased to hear what you just said.”
“And Hudson, don’t forget Hudson.”
“And fucking Hudson … after he adjusted his stiffy, of course.”
I snorted and headed to the dresser. “It’s not mine. I haven’t fucked a girl in three months. I’ve been studying for exams, which would make her at least 12 weeks pregnant.”
“And how many of those are there?”
I shrugged and started packing clothes into a duffel bag. “Five or so.”
“Didn’t your father teach you anything? Fuck, Saint. He was the master at being discreet.”
“And you think I’d get any if I started spouting shit about signing NDA’s and giving them the shot? You do realize this is college and that shit happens in a matter of minutes. You go to a party, you get your dick sucked and then you bend her over the couch.”
Gage shook his head. “Have fun explaining that to your father. Let’s go, and put something decent on.”
The drive back to the Vittori estate took five hours and I slept in the car. I wasn’t going to get any sleep once I got to the house, not if what Gage said was true. If there really was a pregnant girl waiting at home, it meant she’d planned this. If she knew where my family lived, then she played me, wanting the power and fortune that was attached to my name. Fuck.
It was still dark when Gage pulled the car into the garage. My door was opened and Hudson grinned as he looked down at me. “Welcome home.”
“Tell me, Hudson, how long have you had that stiffy?”
Hudson glanced down at his crotch. “Why?”
“It’ll give me an idea of how pissed my father is.”
Hudson barked out a laugh and shook his head. “We were watching a movie.”
“Hacksaw P**n?”
He barked out another laugh. “No wonder Wilder jerks off to your picture.”
I grinned and followed Hudson into the house, Gage having already disappeared inside. The house was quiet, but at 2 a.m. it was to be expected. I followed Hudson to my father’s study, a stoic look settling on my face. I was a fucking Vittori and Dominic would expect nothing less.
The door opened and my father, Dominic, stood in front of his desk, a glass of Scotch in his hand. I couldn’t read the expression on his face. It was a trait I shared with my father and uncle, that stoic look.
“Father,” I said.
Dominic nodded his head and Hudson closed the door, leaving us alone. The seconds ticked by as we stared at each other. I knew my father was waiting for me to crack, but I wouldn’t. I’d been trained by my father’s men my entire life. Austin, Ethan, Cooper, and Hudson had been hard on me, each one of them bringing something different to my training. The fact that I was Saint Vittori didn’t deter any of them, especially not Gage. I was the oldest of the next generation and a Vittori. The next leader. I had to be better, colder, and more ruthless than even my father had been.
I was trying to gauge my father’s reaction, but it was hard. I couldn’t tell how pissed off he was and that made me a little nervous even though I wasn’t that 15-year-old boy that had left for college 7 years earlier. Dominic and Gage had been the same age when they went to college. I hadn’t gone crazy, not like Gage had. My wild side had only emerged when I turned 17.
The birth of my son was the absolute best day of my life. Hearing him cry for the very first time brought tears to my eyes, and when I held him, it was a moment of such pure love that I could feel it in my soul. He was my flesh and blood, the heir to the legacy I would leave behind. He would be untouchable. He was the most perfect thing I’d ever seen, and I felt blessed. My path to power had been filled with bloodshed, violence, and betrayal. I’d walk that path a thousand times over if it meant he would never have to. I’d suffer being shot over and over if it meant he would take over the family dynasty in peace. I knew it was wishful thinking. There would always be enemies, but I would slay as many of them as I could before he rose to take over.We flew to Dominic’s country estate for the baptism. It was important to me that he be baptized by Father Tomassino, in the same church I’d been baptized, and Dominic before me. It was a family tradition I didn’t want to let go of.The church
It took another four weeks before I was finally discharged. Kaelis took notes as the doctor gave instructions for exercises at home, check-up dates and what I could and couldn’t do. By the end of it, I wanted to bash his head in, push Kaelis to her knees and then go home. When we arrived at the house, I was surprised with a welcome home party. My parents had flown down, Honor and James and even Wrath with his most trusted circle were there. It was good to see everyone again and be surrounded by the people I loved.Arya now sported an engagement ring on her finger, and I glanced at Wilder. “You couldn’t tell me this in the hospital?”“I didn’t want to risk you getting all excited,” he said. “But the sex after I proposed was awesome.”Arya shook her head and kissed my cheek when I hugged her. “It’s good to have you back, cousin.”“Trust me, nobody’s as happy as I am.”My mother cried, and hugged me for a long time. I could almost relate to what she was feeling. Soon, I’d hold my own chi
After a week, I was transferred to a regular room, but my restlessness just grew. I wanted to be out there with my men, hunting down the man that gave the order to end my life. I knew it was Bryce, and Navo had found the evidence.“You need to rest, Mr. Vittori,” the nurse admonished me. It was 1 a.m. and I pulled the headphones off.“Just going to finish this movie, then I’ll rest, I promise,” I said. The movie was a live-feed of the men in a warehouse they tracked Bryce to. He’d hired mercenaries to protect him, especially after the fall of Carlos Suarez. I had watched a live feed of his execution. Diego had waited for me to regain consciousness before moving in. I guess I owed him one.“I’ll be back in 30 minutes,” she said.I ignored her and watched in rapt fascination as men scoured the warehouse, the beams from the lights on their rifles bouncing around in the darkness. I listened to bursts of gunfire, screams and my men stepping over dead bodies. It was a realistic version of a
The ICU room was dim. Machines were beeping softly in a steady rhythm. I didn’t remember the hiss of the ventilator; they’d extubated me earlier that morning when I started breathing over it. I drifted between dreams and pain. My chest felt heavy, every breath was a sharp reminder of the bullet that had almost ended me. The white ceiling came into focus again as I tried to open my eyes.At first, everything was quiet. All I could hear were the machines. All I could smell was that antiseptic odor that clung to all hospitals. Faintly, I heard the shuffle of nurses outside my room. Then I felt it. A hand wrapped around mine. Soft. Tender. A hand I knew so well. Kaelis. She was talking to Wilder, their voices soft, so as not to disturb me. Every now and then, her fingers would brush against my palm, making it tingle. It almost made up for the burning pain that was seared almost everywhere.“Okay, but when he wakes up, ask him why men like fishing,” Wilder said, a soft chuckle leaving his
“I’m sorry,” she whispered.“I’m so fucking mad at you, Kaelis.”She opened her eyes and finally looked at me. They were glistening with tears and I felt like an asshole for being mad, but I couldn’t lie about it. She’d put herself in danger and I could’ve helped her.“Why didn’t you tell me?” I go
I tried calling her, but her phone went straight to voicemail. I drove to her house and stood on that shitty, sagging porch and knocked on her door. I hammered on the door, actually. She was either ignoring me or really not at home. I walked to the side of the house and peered through her bedroom w
Wilder had brought my laptop and an overnight bag with clean clothes. They stayed for an hour, making small talk, telling jokes and I noticed then that they were holding hands. I gave Wilder a look and he just grinned at me. Kaelis noticed it too and smiled. “You remember that day you walked me to
Her shift had just started and her stomach growled. The last time she’d eaten was lunch four days earlier. She’d eaten an entire hamburger and blushed when Saint told her that he liked a woman that ate like a normal person and not someone that nibbled on carrot sticks. He made her feel seen and wan
