Elena’s pov.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked, unsure of his words.

“Well, your suspicions about it? Positive. The person is not pregnant.”

My heart skipped. “Are you sure, doctor? I mean, this is a very sensitive case.”

“I’ve been doing this work for years and trust me, ma’am, I know a negative pregnancy test when I see one.” He replied, almost teasingly.

My mouth fell open. Horace noticed the situation and immediately held my arm.

“Are you okay…” his eyes flung to the staff standing beside us, so he added, “… baby. Are you okay, baby?”

But I was too excited to even care about some fake antics. I threw my arms around him in a warm hug, and at first, his body stood stout. Perhaps out of shock, but he quickly gathered himself and returned the gesture.

“Wow, that big of news, huh?” He breathed in my ear.

“Yes. Absolutely yes. It's huge news.” The staff looked away, smiling teasingly, like she didn’t want to interrupt whatever was going on.
