“King Reagan.” I spoke as I rushed behind him and Beta Miranda, hot on their heels until Beta Miranda turned, giving me a steely and serious look as she stood firmly blocking the door King Reagan had just entered.

I saw the challenge on her face. Move me or be moved.

And with the mood I was in, I was willing to take up that challenge.

As I studied her incredible height and brawny form. Beta Miranda had basically trained me after my parents had died. Made me the monster I was today.

I was smart enough not to underestimate her and confident enough to know she hadn’t trained someone who ever accepted defeat in any battle.

“Thane.” King Reagan spoke from the room. “This is my time with my wives and children. The meeting is over.”

I stood my ground clenching my hand into a fist as I grappled with self control.

“I cannot marry her.” I blurted out not doing a good job at containing my anger.
