The Grand doors opened as we walked in.

We walked into the throne room and were met with the king’s wives.

Evangeline was the first to rise looking serious and angry.

“Alpha Thane, you dare to intrude on the royal courts when not only haven’t you boy been summoned but you are also on probation. This is bold, even for you."

I could hear Lyra behind me, our footsteps were synchronized as we approached the thrones.

We stopped just out of striking distance, seeing Miranda’s eyes darken at the sight of us.

I knew if she was here, the king wasn’t too far away. He was never out of her sights for too long.

“Apologies, my queen, my ladies.” I spoke. “But there is no room for courtesy in the face of disaster.” I spoke.

“We come with urgent news, Queen Evangeline.” Lyra spoke.
