~DANIEL~

I drove with no destination.

The road was blurry through my tears, but I didn’t care.

Let it crash. Let it all burn.

I was done pretending to be okay.

I gripped the steering wheel until my knuckles turned white, every muscle in my jaw locked so tight it ached. My chest felt like it was caving in — sharp, suffocating, and wild.

She lied.

She looked me in the eye and told me the twins weren’t mine.

Twins.

Mine.

They had to be mine.

But I didn't know how far she's gone in the pregnancy so I could do the math.

I remembered the last night we spent together — in our room, after she recovered fully from the accident.

I remembered the way her body trembled under my hands, the way she whispered my name like it was the only word she knew.

And now?

Now she was living in a cracked-walled shoebox with another man playing husband while carrying my children.

“Leo,” I growled, slamming the steering wheel. “It’s him. It has to be him.”

My heart twisted in my chest like

  • Bound by a billionaire    A cruel punishment

~JESSICA~I should have known.I should have known Daniel wouldn’t just walk away. Not when his eyes that day held more than just betrayal — they held questions. A storm. But still, nothing could prepare me for what I found when I walked into the hospital lobby the next morning for a follow-up appointment.Grace had gone ahead of me to check in with the receptionist, while I walked slowly behind, careful not to slip. My hands instinctively rested on my belly, now round and unmistakably pregnant.I knew the second I walked into that hospital lobby. Before I saw him. Before he spoke. Before he looked at me.I didn’t see him at first. But I felt him.Like a magnetic field pulling my breath from my lungs. And then I turned. And saw him.Daniel.Standing by the far end of the waiting room, back against the wall, arms crossed, those storm-grey eyes locked on me like I was the only thing in the world that existed. My heart nearly stopped.“Daniel…” I breathed, stunned. My f

  • Bound by a billionaire    The truth

~JESSICA~Darkness. It pulled me under like waves crashing over my head. Weightless. Spinning. Distant voices echoed, and then…nothing. When I opened my eyes, I was staring at a white ceiling. The sterile scent of antiseptic hit me next. A beeping machine somewhere in the background. Then came the pain…. not physical, but deep in my chest, like something inside me had cracked.“Jessica?” A familiar voice called softly.I turned my head.Grace.She was sitting beside me, her eyes wide with worry, holding my hand tightly.“Oh my God, thank God,” she breathed, a tear rolling down her cheek. “You scared the hell out of me.”I blinked, trying to sit up. “What… what happened?”“You fainted,” she said gently, adjusting the pillow behind my back. “In your room. Leo and I rushed you here. The doctor said it was stress and low blood sugar. You haven’t been eating properly.”I swallowed hard, glancing down at my belly. A sudden panic took over me. “The babies?”“They’re fine,” she

~DANIEL~Jessica just confirmed that she's pregnant. My mouth opened. “It’s mine, isn’t it?”A pause. And then….“No.”The word shattered me.The word hit me like a slap across the face.“What?” I asked.“It’s not yours, Daniel,” she said, voice flat, empty. “You don’t need to worry about it.”I stared at her, completely stunned. “You’re telling me… you’re carrying twins and they’re not mine?”“That’s what I said.”The scan crumpled a little in my grip. I forced myself to breathe.“Then whose is it?” I demanded. Her lips pressed tightly. She didn’t answer. Just looked away.“Whose, Jess? Say his name!”Still, silence. But she didn’t need to speak. My gaze shifted sharply to Leo.He didn’t flinch. Didn’t speak. He stood straighter, lips pursed, but didn’t deny anything.Which was as good as a confession. My hands clenched into fists.“You’ve got to be kidding me.” I laughed — bitter, cold, broken. “Him? After everything we had? You left me to raise another man’s

  • Bound by a billionaire    The babies aren't yours

~DANIEL~I didn’t even recognize her at first. She opened that door, and for a second, it felt like I’d gone blind. Her hair was longer. Her eyes looked tired. Her cheeks a little rounder—still beautiful, but worn. And her house?God.It made me want to scream.I bought her a luxury penthouse.I left her and her family everything they needed to live comfortably. Every month, without fail, I wired money—more than enough to keep her secure, pampered, free. But this? She was living like someone scraping pennies together to survive. With peeling paint on the walls and secondhand everything. How could she do this? How could she live like this and not tell me?And that boy—Leo or whatever his name was—opening the door like he owned the place. Standing guard like he was the man protecting her. That had nearly pushed me over the edge.I wanted to punch something.Someone.I wanted to know why I had become the villain in a life I built for her.“Why are you doing this,

  • Bound by a billionaire    The confrontation

~JESSICA~Something felt… off.I didn’t know what it was exactly. Just a strange flutter in my chest, like the air around me had thickened. The day had started normal—grocery run, Leo helping with the bags, a nap in the afternoon. But now, as the sun dipped lower in the sky, the world felt too quiet.Too still.Like the moment right before a lightning strike.I was in the kitchen, wiping down the counter, when I felt the hairs on my arms rise. Not from cold—but from some invisible shift in the air. Then…A knock.Three sharp raps against the front door.I paused.Leo looked up from the couch, his posture stiffening.“You expecting someone?” I asked, walking toward the window.“No.” His voice was firm. Alert.I peeked through the curtain.Couldn’t see anyone from this angle.Leo stood and walked to the door, adjusting the sleeves of his flannel shirt like he was preparing for something. He opened it a crack and peered outside….Then froze. His entire body loc
