Elli opened her eyes and adjusted her eyesight to the dimness of her and SJ’s room. She turned her body towards the center of the bed and found SJ’s side empty. Her eyes traveled towards the clock, it read ten o’clock in the evening.
She slowly sat up and realized that SJ had undressed her office attire. She reached for her robe that he must have placed at the foot of the bed and put it on.
Before she decided to get up, her eyes had traveled towards the box that SJ’s parents had brought with them a while ago. Just seeing the box immediately had tears forming at her eyes and she brushed them away furiously.
She finally stood up after drinking the glass of water that her husband thoughtfully left for her and walked towards the box. She looked down at in quietly, staring at the contents for a while.
“You need to face this, Elli,” she told herself. “Only the truth shall set you free.”
