Chapter 3: Ares Salvatore

~Ares~

Eyes wide open when I felt something, when I heard her voice echo through my head. My attention went back to the hard drink that I was drinking from earlier to ease the tension deep inside of me. Since that day I saw her dazzling face, she didn't leave my head. I can't control myself not unless I see her.

“Alpha Ares.” I turned my head when I heard my beta's voice. Furrowing my brows, I looked at him as I waited for news coming from him.

“How is it?” 

He sighed, giving me the envelope.

“Good. Now, bring our men and go to the Red Moon Pack. Take her to me and pay them.” I uttered.

The beta just looked at me, not moving as if he didn't hear me. I grit my teeth and grab the collar of his shirt.

“Did you hear me, asshole?”

He trembles, nodding his head to me. I let him go and returned to my chair, crossing my legs.

“A-Alpha Ares, I regret to tell you that I received a call. They are preparing her for her death sentence. I… I think we are now running out of time and—”

I throw the glass in his direction. This man was challenging me.

“I don't want to hear anything about what you said. Go and get her or I will be the one to end your life. It's not too late if you move faster. Don't go back without her and if you fail, I will kill your clan. Did you get it!?”

The beta immediately left the room when I threatened him. As he left, I massaged my head in annoyance. The door opened again and just before I could yell, the man immediately raised his hand.

“Relax, I know what happened, Ares.”

Resting my head on the swivel chair, I looked at Ralph, an Alpha from the other pack which is my friend. 

“I can't wait to have her here, Ralph.” I spoke to him. He raised his brows while occupying the empty seat in front of me.

“Who?”

Ralph pretended that he didn't know. I shook my head and looked the other way.

“I know, man. Don't worry because your beta will take her here. So, you should relax and wait for her arrival. That's the best thing you can do. I can prepare the papers for you. Don't worry, I am such a good friend to you. It is not a problem for me.”

Nodding my head, I took the other glass and poured it with a new drink after I threw it away earlier. Something suddenly flashes back to me. The moment I saw her face and that day, she never left my head. I want to have her by my side. I can have everyone anytime I want to and no one can stop me, not even that asshole Alexander who is dead now.

“What's really your plan to that girl? Did you not realize that she can be a headache knowing that she's facing a problem in her life?”

A smirk suddenly formed just because of what Ralph had told me. He was concerned about the girl I tasked my beta to save. 

“You know me, Ralph. I can make everything possible and taking advantage of what she's been facing now is a great opportunity for me. I can do everything I want to her and she owes me her life, so there's no reason for her to decline everything I asked.”

Ralph shook his head, still looking at me. It doesn't matter because no one can ever stop me. I am an Alpha King and everything is possible to me.

“All you need is a fling and you have it already, Ares. You don't need to purchase another one from the Red Moon Pack because you have a lot of women. What else do you want?”

If Ralph is not a friend, I have already killed him for having a lot of questions. He really wanted to hear my reasons for taking that girl despite the number of flings I currently have. Ralph didn't know that I had better plans for that girl.

“I need a wife. She's capable of being my wife and I want no one but her, Ralph.”

Ralph is surprised by what he hears. He even shook his head. I furrowed my brows when he suddenly stood up. 

“You're my friend but this is enough, Ares. You ruined a lot of women's lives. Have you forgotten about your first love?”

Ralph's words rang a bell to me. I ran in his direction, pinned him against the wall. One wrong move, I can kill him now for trying to ruin my plans.

“I am not giving you permission to talk about my first love. You are just my friend but you have no rights. I need a wife and I didn't say I need a lover. Put that in your head. There's a big difference from that.”

It was obvious from Ralph's reaction that he was a bit nervous from what I did. Just because I am still holding on to our friendship, I let him go. This is the best way so that I can control myself. They know that I am hard to control when I am mad.

“I was just concerned for you as your friend. You've been playing a lot of women and now you are looking for another victim. She left already and you can't find a replacement for the first woman you loved because what you need is someone who loves you unconditionally. You should not based it from your first love.”

I shook my head while walking, back to my chair. The moment I sat, I glared at him.

“Enough, Ralph. Whatever decision I make, respect it if you still treat me as your friend. Make me a contract and we'll be clear. That woman will be my wife, give me everything I wanted and she would have her freedom from her supposed execution. It's either she will accept the offer or she will be forever gone.”

Ralph let out a deep breath. He nodded his head and turned his back but before that, he left some words.

“Why don't you open your heart again?” 

I shook my head with a smirk written on my lips.

“That's impossible to happen. No one can ever tame my cold heart just like before.”

I thought Ralph would leave but he turned his head back to me. I just looked at him while waiting for whatever he would say to me.

“Let her tame your heart and you will have my big company.”

A wide smirk formed on my lips from what he uttered.

“Are you willing to give up that just because of that f*cking challenge?”

It was Ralph who is smirking now.

“If you don't let her tame your heart, you will give me your position as the Alpha King. I know you won't give it up, so I am preparing my company now.”

I chuckled. “Yes, you should because I am taking the first option even if it's against my will, because I know no one can make me fall in love again.”

The asshole shook his head.

“Let's see, Alpha Ares.”

And he left me while laughing. I shook my head and was about to follow him when my phone rang. I answered it and good news arrived.

“We have your lady, Alpha Ares.”

I smirk.

“Bring Zenaida to me with precaution. I don't want her to get hurt. Is that clear?”
