The early afternoon sunlight hit her face perfectly as she looked up with eyes closed. It reminded her why she had loved this place in the first place. It calmed her, be it day or night. She was glad it had not changed ownership at all.She breathed in so hard as the smell of earth, grass and just nature in general wafted to her nose and she smiled. Colin had brought them for an amazing picnic"Okay, tell me the story.""What story?""About you and Beau. You used to be close till sometime when I was ten or so..." Robyn said glancing at him."If I tell you that, will you tell me why you seem to always run away from him?""I don't run. I just avoid him.""Uhuh. Especially when he is with someone else....""Fine, I will tell you."Colin grinned at her. "Fair enough. So it started one night when our mum was arguing with Beau's dad. By then he was dad to both of us. It escalated and mum let slip that I was not his son. We were both shocked so we run upstairs to Beau's room and he was crying
Robyn did not know whether she was more surprised or angry. She thought of all the reasons she should be mad at the moment. She thought about how Drew would have felt if he was there, how seeing her in their home would make him more sad in that moment. With that thought she decided she was more angry."Robbie please, we have to talk." Ella said approaching her slowly."Alright. But let me ask you something, are you here to apologise?""Yes. I'm sorry Robyn.""Why are you apologizing to me? I don't care what you do anymore.""Robyn.....""One more thing," She said looking directly at her, "Did you break up with Blurr-face?"Ella sighed, "Robbie, he loves me.""And I love you too, but do you see me hurting you or manipulating you?""He does not manipulate me. And it's not the same.""Do you hav
The first thing that she became aware of was the smell of chemicals torturing her nostrils. She felt like something was stuck in her throat that smelt like wood mixed with more chemicals. She could not lift her hand to scratch away the annoying smell, something was pressing her body had onto whatever she was lying on. She was no longer floating on the clouds.Robyn willed her body to move but it was being very stubborn. Was she dead? That could not be, she would not smell things if she was. Then again what did she know about being dead, maybe this was what the after life was like. Someone opened one of her eyes and flashed a very bright light. She screamed in her for the person to stop but her mouth did not move. What the hell was wrong with her?All of a sudden she felt light weighted and began floating again. She welcomed the sleep that was strongly embracing her, gladly falling into its pit. There was peace at last.
Beau rubbed his face to hide his anger and sadness when he walked into Robyn's hospital room. He saw his brother sitting right beside her on the chair, holding her hand seemingly caressing it.He could not believe Drew let Colin in first before him. Why would he do that? Then again, Drew and Robyn were more than close. They were brother and sister who were best friends. Robyn was closer to Drew than to August in his opinion. Maybe she had told him about their little confrontation at her birthday dinner. Her words rang out repeatedly in his mind yet he still had no idea what she meant. Did Robyn feel like he was sidelining her? Maybe he should hang out with her more.He swallowed his emotions and approached the bed slowly. The last thing he wanted was to upset Robyn again."Hey...... You look terrible." He said with a smile and Robyn chuckled."Could say the same thing
Robyn was discharged from the hospital a few days later. Her mother had insisted to take her back to the Hachi Manor but Aunt Viv instead it was better she stay within a small distance of the hospital and since Drew would be around to check on her if anything went wrong. That's what won her mother over.Ella had practically moved in with her at her Uncle's residence. She took a leave of absence from work. Drew tried to avoid her as much as he could while Tara the nurse flirted with him more. That made Ella roll her eyes and glare daggers at her if she was around. It was always entertaining to watch.Colin,Beau and Layla visited often too and she had a two week sick leave which she insisted. Her Uncle as the boss gave her a full month leave but she had argued that she was better and staying home would drive her crazy with boredom. He agreed after she threatened to leave the house.Drew seemed a little upset about so
The thick darkness in the room was almost comfortable. It mirrored what he felt deep in his heart perfectly. He knew he had tried to stay in the light to keep the demons away. At the moment he could care less about what they were whispering about.Beau wanted to blame Colin for this mess but he knew he was just another pawn in the monster's games. It was his fault too, he was really a coward. He had all the chances to make things right. To follow his heart and tell her how he really felt but he had not. He was afraid of losing her all along only to really lose her to his brother. He was very sure Colin would take good care of her, make her happier. He thought back to his relationship with Layla that was in oblivion as of late. That was his fault too, he could not open up to her. He had steel walls built up around his heart whose key only Robyn had. He had added a thorn fence to the steel wall and she was a flower that would be pierced badly if it c
Robyn sat at the breakfast table eating her pancakes as the two women across her glared at her. She had told them she was going back to work that day."Frown lines are not pretty on you ladies." Robyn said."You're supposed to be resting Robbie." Ella said."I'm better now. I'm tired of staying home.""It's not even been two weeks yet." Her Aunt said."Ma, I know that. But if I stay cooped in here for a day more, I will get cranky and you know how that goes.""But Roh...""I'm not even driving myself there." Robyn tried to convince them."Fine. But promise you will get home for lunch and you won't go back to school.""But Ma....""I'm very serious Robyn.""Fine.""And you have to check in with us every hour." Ella said.&n
The hot water cascaded down his body lightly relaxing his tensed up body. He imagined it washing away his stress. Drew had been in a slump lately and he hoped his three days off would get him the rest he needed. He had almost lost his favorite person in the whole world, his sister recently. His superior had made a near fatal mistake on one of his patients who luckily survived and his family had no choice to give in to a madman's demands. He thought about Ella, she had apologized to him for what happened. They were talking more lately. Tara must have rubbed her the wrong way to make her a little jealous. Drew was thankful for Tara's brevity to flirt with him openly. He did not want her apology though, he wanted her in his arms, his fingers tracing gentle lines in her hair as she giggled. Was that too much to ask?He got out of the shower, put on some clothes and grabbed his keys to go to his parents' home. He wanted
