Melissa's POV

"I missed you, Mom," I whispered, my voice muffled against her shoulder.

"I missed you too, baby," she replied, her voice shaking with emotion. "I've missed you so much."

We stood there, holding each other, crying and laughing at the same time. The tears streamed down our faces, mixing with our laughter, creating a bittersweet moment of joy and pain.

"I thought I'd lost you," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion.

"I'm here, Mom," I replied, holding her tightly. "I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."

Melissa POV Two days had passed since the Alpha, Caius, and I had that life-changing meeting, and I couldn't help but smile as I reflected on how far we'd come. It was like a weight had been lifted off our shoulders, and we were finally moving forward, hand in hand. We had a dream, a vision, and we were creating it, living it, breathing it.Everything was different now. Caius and the Alpha were busier than ever working together in the pack, but their love and affection for me hadn't wained – if anything, it had grown stronger. And I, the Luna, was finally living my life to the fullest. I had my freedom, my autonomy, and the respect of the pack.It was liberating, walking out of the penthouse without a entourage of guards trailing behind me, watching my every move. I was finally free to be me, to live my life as I saw fit. And it was exhilarating.I thought about my family – my father, my mother, Jace, and Brandon – and how they'd supported us every step of the way. They'd trusted us,

Melissa's POVI woke up that morning feeling a mix of nerves and determination. I had a restless night, my mind racing with thoughts of the upcoming conversation with Alpha and Caius. I took my time getting ready, carefully bathing and dressing in something beautiful, wanting to feel confident and put-together for what was to comeThe plan was to meet at the Alpha's penthouse, where we'd all agreed to sit down and spill our minds, once and for all. I'd made it clear the other day that I was in love with both of them equally, and I needed to hear their thoughts, their feelings. Where did they stand? What did they want for us?As I headed down to the penthouse, my heart was beating like a drum. This was it - a turning point in our lives, a chance to figure out our way forward, together. I just hoped everything would come out the way it shouldThe maid's gentle announcement preceded me into the room,"Her lady has arrived." She stepped aside, clearing the path for me to walk in.Caius an

Lady Celeste. She materialized in the center of the room, her ethereal form taking shape before my eyes. Her long, flowing hair seemed to ripple like the surface of a pond, and her g diaphanous gow floated around her like a cloud . The delicate features of her face were serene, her eyes shining like stars in the night sky.As she solidified, the air in the room seemed to vibrate with magic. I shook my head, my voice soft. "It's alright, Susie. Things happen. You can't blame yourself for something that was beyond your control."I said Susie's eyes welled up, and she took a step forward, her voice cracking, "I should have been there. I should have protected you."I reached out, taking her hands in mine, holding them tightly. "Susie, it's okay. I'm here now. I'm safe. You don't have to carry this burden anymore."She looked up at me, tears streaming down her face, and I saw the weight of her guilt and sorrow. I pulled her into a hug, holding her close. Lyra's POVTears streamed down my cheeks as I sat in the quarters, the silence of the room deafening. I had moved from the royal building, just as Caius had instructed, and now I was left alone with my thoughts, the weight of my emotions crushing me.Everything had dawned on me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I had been deceiving myself, convincing myself that I had found peace in a situation that was nothing but war. It seemed now that I couldn't have him, and he couldn't love me dearly and leave Melissa for his father.I staggered, my legs weak, and fell onto one of the chairs in the room, my eyes swollen from crying. I wished that things were different, that I could turn back time and change the course of events. How could he do this to me?
