Amber’s POV

Janine directed a stern glare at Beta Trent when he didn’t move. “I know you need to watch over us or protect us or something, but we are fine for now. Yeti is becoming quite powerful, Amber is very powerful as well and I can kick any ass that comes through that door that’s neither you or Dale.”

Beta Trent looked like he might argue with her but he knew he couldn’t. I climbed back into the middle of the bed without a word ad he seemed to realize that I needed some space.

With a grunt, he stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him but not before telling us that Izzy and Fabian were stationed outside.

Once Beta Trent was gone, Janine and Yeti climbed into the bed after me. There was a frown on Janine’s face and Yeti simply looked confused but I could tell that she didn’t want to ask any questions even if it bothered her a lot.

“Is it that bad?” Janine asked after a while.

I glanced up at her and she continued. “I know your wolf must have told you something

Amber’s POV Noah smiled sadly, collapsing into the seat behind him. “Lisa died, Yeti.” A lone tear ran down his cheek and it broke my heart to pieces. Yeti stumbled on her feet. “What? How? What the hell are you talking about? Lisa can’t –” I shot her a stern glare. “That’s enough, Yeti! Can’t you see he’s suffering already? Stop reminding him of the past he’s trying so hard to forget!” “It’s okay, Amber.” Noah said, although his voice lost all the excitement it carried only a moment ago. “She was killed because of me, so it’s fine. Even if I try, I can never forget her.” He forced a smile on his face. “I – I’m sorry. I had no idea.” Yeti said apologetically. “I – I’m so sorry, Noah.” Noah immediately shut her down. “It’s not your fault, Yeti. You didn’t kill her so you don’t have to apologize. If anything, those who raised their claws at her and took out her heart should be the one kneeling before me and saying those words but I will never accept their apologies!” I took a de

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   Fear And Anger

Amber’s POV Janine’s meeting with the councilmembers went on till dinner. By lunch, both Yeti and I had lost the patience to wait so we went to the canteen and collected food for all three of us, but I didn’t have the appetite to eat, so that was that. I didn’t want to continue hiding away in Janine’s office either, so I decided to make myself useful. Besides, I still hadn’t talked to Noah. Yeti knew Noah from our pack. They weren’t really best of friends since she was on Celia’s friend group, but she wanted to see him. Izzy and Fabian were standing guard outside Janine’s office as expected and Fabian’s eyes immediately lit up as soon as he saw Yeti. Yeti smiled as well and I could tell that if it wasn’t so crowded, she would have run into his arms. Fabian spent the last few days since our arrival from Moonstone massaging her constantly and every time I sked her to meet up, he’d answer that she is spending time with her mate. Well, to their credit, they did look closer. I nudge

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   A Vision Of The Future

Amber’s POV I woke up wrapped in bed between Yeti and Janine, the nightmare still clinging to my mind, a cold sweat drenched my body and my heart beating so hard that it felt as if it was trying to crack my ribs open. “I’m going to puke,” I said out loud, scrambling over bodies and not really caring where my limbs ended up as I lurched towards the bathroom. I didn’t bother shutting the door, mostly because I was sure I wasn’t going to be alone for long. I didn’t expect the morning sickness although Janine told me it was very likely due to my pregnancy. A cold, wet washcloth pressed over my forehead and someone twisted my hair from my face. Another set of hands stroked me down my back in comforting gestures, soothing me as the retching continued until I was a miserable shaking mess. My mind travelled to the nightmare. I couldn’t recall what it was about. I had no clear memories of it except for the fear that clung to my bones and the way my stomach kept revolting. My wolf was qu

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   Home Sweet Home

Dale’s POV I must have slept like a freaking monster because the next morning, I found myself being shaken awake before the sun has even risen to head down to the gallows to interrogate our new prisoners. I managed to stop myself from yanking Trent’s arm straight out of its socket the moment I was conscious enough to realize what the asshole was even doing in my room. “We waited the entire day for you yesterday. We are in the middle of a war, Lycan King. We’ll appreciate it if you can show some restraints some times. I’ve prepped the prisoners again and the council is waiting so lets get moving.” I threw my pillow at him as he retreated, but he batted it away as if it was nothing, stalking to the door as he called out, “Also, Noah is ready for us. We have to finish all this in a day, plus I’m tired od being the only responsible one.” “Asshole,” I muttered under my breath but still rolled out of bed, careful not to disturb Amber who was still in a deep sleep. It was too early to

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   Ecstasy

Amber’s POV The first thing I did after we arrived at home is to take a long shower. Showers had always been like a safe haven to me. And after everything that happened back at moonstone pack, I needed to wash all the troubles away. Water was supposed to be the answer to everything, but no matter how long I stand under it, there was no running from my problems. I needed to interrogate Lydia or at least be present when Alpha Dale interrogated her and Morgan. Then I needed to speak with Noah. Did he settle in his room well? Did Janine speak with him and properly explain Alpha Dale’s reasons for bringing him here with us? Noah was a levelheaded person; I was sure he’d understand. What then was I worried about? Maybe it was because we were so close to Derrick than I’d like. Every step we took was taking us closer and closer to catching him and that was what worried me. I didn’t think I was ready to face him again. The last time I did, it had taken every strength in me just to loo
