Chapter 24

One Year Later

The summer skies were clear. It was hot and humid outside. Alpha James had invited some pack members to the packhouse for a cookout to celebrate our graduation. Libby invited her boyfriend Daniel over to the cookout as well. We were having a great time until Beta Michael and Stephanie walked into the backyard. Both Stephanie and Daniel had their nose in the air at the exact time. "Mate" they announced as they ran into each other's arms. The backyard erupted in applause. It was a happy occasion to witness someone finding their soulmate.

Levi returned from the packhouse, to see Stephanie hugged up on Daniel. The glassware shattered on the ground as Levi proceeded to tackle Daniel.

"Go walk it off, son! They are mates. Nothing you can do about it." Alpha James leaps in between them. Levi shifted into Kane before he took off running, Kane peered back at Libby with a smirk on his face.
