Ariana’s POV

I just couldn't get used to the now peaceful halls, the serene view, having a room to myself.

While still captivated by the serenity of sunlight creeping through the curtains, a knock comes from the door.

Not sharp. Not impatient. Deliberate.

“Ariana,” a deep voice says through the door. “Alpha Fernando sent for you.”

My stomach tightens.

I smoothen my shirt, tuck the pendant beneath it, and follow the guard through Silvermoon’s halls. Morning light continues to spill through the t

  • Broken: Claiming her place   Chapter 63

Ariana’s POVI never expected to be shocked by the very sight I saw so early in the morningI thought the painkillers were messing with my head when I saw him.Liam.Standing at the foot of my hospital bed like he had every right to be there. My first instinct was anger. My fingers curled into the sheets as my heart began to race. After everything, the betrayal, the humiliation, the way he’d tried to break me when I was weakest, I expected mockery. Or worse, pity dressed as concern.“What do you want?” I asked hoarsely. He flinched. That alone told me something was wrong.“I’m not here to fight,” he said quietly. He looked… smaller. Not drunk. Not smug. Just tired. “I just came over to give you something.”He reached into the jacket slung over his arm and pulled out a thick folder, worn at the edges, sealed with the Valenti crest. My breath caught. The club’s bank records. The legal documents. The ones my father had pressed into my hands the night before he died, his voice urgent as h

  • Broken: Claiming her place   Chapter 62

Fernando’s POVThe heat chased us as I moved.Every step out of the ruins felt like stealing her back from the claws of death itself. Smoke curled around us in angry coils, the air thick with chemicals and burning metal. Ariana lay limp in my arms, her head tucked against my chest. I could feel her heartbeat; weak, but there and I clung to that rhythm like it was the only thing anchoring me to sanity. The bond throbbed, not screaming anymore, just aching. Alive. She was alive and that was all that mattered.“Gas lines are hissing!” Raymond shouted from behind me. “Fernando, we need to move now!”I didn’t answer. I didn’t need to. My legs were already pushing harder, my lungs burning as I forced my way through falling debris. A second explosion could tear this place apart, but the thought barely registered. Nothing existed beyond the weight of her in my arms.Amelia rushed ahead, kicking aside rubble. “This way! The east exit is still open!”Raymond reached for Ariana, instinctively tr

  • Broken: Claiming her place   Chapter 61

Fernando’s POVI skid my bike into the dirt so hard it almost throws me off as I lost my balance, gravel biting into my skin as I look up.The warehouse is collapsing. Not burning, it's dying. And fast. Chemical fire blooms outward in violent orange clouds, metal screaming as it twists, support beams folding in on themselves like paper. The sound hits me a second too late.My heart stops. My heart doesn’t just stop. It screams. The bond in my chest detonates into agony, a living thing clawing at my ribs, digging into my heart howling one word over and over again.Ariana.I don’t think. I don’t wait. I don’t call for backup or the fire department or my pack.I move.I rip my helmet off and barely register it hitting the ground before pain tears through me, white, blinding, merciless as I run towards the collapsing warehouse. The dagger wounds scream in protest, silver poison flaring like liquid fire in my veins. Bones crack. Skin burns. I welcome it.Pain means I’m still moving. My cla

  • Broken: Claiming her place   Chapter 60

Ariana’s POVThe world doesn’t explode. It disappears. One second there is fire, a violent, and hungry light, and the next there is nothing but white. The flash is so blinding that it burns itself into me. My last clear image is my own silver fur standing on end, every strand screaming danger. Then the sound hits. Not a boom. Not a blast.A roar.It crashes into my chest like a solid thing, knocking the air from my lungs, crushing thought, crushing breath. I feel myself lifted, weightless for a fraction of a second, before the ground vanishes beneath me.I am falling.Stone tears past me. The warehouse doesn’t just collapse, it gives up. The floor caves in, beams snapping like brittle bones, and I’m dragged down with it, swallowed by the earth. Something slams into my side. Then my back and my head.Darkness engulfs me whole. ****I wake up with no sense of time.No sound. No light. At first, I think I’m dead. That this endless darkness with no ray of light or sound is what comes aft

  • Broken: Claiming her place   Chapter 59

Ariana’s POVI ran to her the moment I saw her.The world narrowed into that single, horrifying image; her on her knees with her head bowed like she had already accepted death. My heart slammed against my ribs as I dropped beside her, hands shaking as I cupped her face.“No,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “No, no, no… look at me.”Her eyes lifted slowly. They were glassy with pain, red-rimmed and terrified. Tears streaked down her cheeks the moment she recognized me.“My lady,” she sobbed, the words scraping out of her throat. “I—I don’t want to die, I'm not ready.”Something inside me shattered.“You won’t,” I said immediately, too fast, too desperate. “I promise you, I won’t let anything happen to you. I swear on my father’s name.” My hands went straight to the ropes, claws threatening to burst through my fingers as I worked at them. “Just hold on. I’m here now.”Her body trembled violently. I could feel how cold she was, how weak. This wasn’t just fear, it was rather evident that

  • Broken: Claiming her place   Chapter 58

Fernando’s POVThe moment Raymond is dragged away, something inside me fractures. The shift in the air provided the perfect opening which Kelvin had been waiting for. My head turns instinctively toward the edge of the circle, toward Raymond’s struggling form, toward the injustice burning in my chest. And in that moment, the blade hits.Silver kisses my shoulder and then sinks in, deep and deliberate. I grunt as the dagger slices across muscle and bone, and then the poison ignites. It burns like liquid fire, racing through my veins, turning my strength into molten agony. My wolf screams inside my skull.Move. Kill. Tear him apart. But another pain crashes into me, sharper, more desperate.Ariana.The mate-bond tugs violently, like someone has wrapped their hands around my heart and is pulling it apart. It’s not longing. It’s fear. Raw, panicked, screaming danger. My vision blurs, not from the poison alone, but from the overwhelming certainty that wherever she is, she’s not safe.Kelvin
