"What? A party? What do you mean?" The woman on the other end of the phone sounded surprised, just like Dona. At first, Dona felt happy. If Mrs. Emma Rodriguez came back to the house, she would gain power and take Mia’s place. That was what Mrs. Emma had promised her.

"S-so, you don’t know about it, Ma’am?"

"I have no idea what you’re talking about. Explain yourself, Dona!" Mrs. Emma snapped. Dona told her everything she had heard and seen.

"Okay, Dona, listen! Quickly find out what’s happening there and report back to me, understand?"

"Y-yes, Ma’am."

After she hung up with Dona, Emma paced on her balcony. The lack of clear information bothered her. What was really happening at the Rodriguez house? Was that disabled man planning a party? What kind of party could it be? A death party?

"Diego, Diego. You’re about to die tomorrow, and you’re still thinking about a party."

Emma muttered as she thought. "And who did Dona mean by Mrs. Rodriguez? Is that crippled man getting married? But that’s impossible. He’s supposed to die tomorrow, so why would he get married?"

Emma fell silent and stared into the distance. She thought the maid was foolish and couldn’t be trusted. Emma decided she would have to find out for herself what was happening at the Rodriguez house.

"Oh darling, there you are."

A man immediately hugged Emma from behind and began kissing her neck passionately.

"Pedro, I have to return to Barcelona today," Emma said, trying to hold back a moan from his touch, which always excited her.

Pedro paused and looked at the woman, who was thirty-five and had been his lover for the past few months.

"What? Now? Oh no, baby, I still miss you so much." Pedro kissed Emma’s lips, then picked her up and carried her back to bed.

"Pedro, please listen to me first, darling," Emma gasped. He stopped kissing her, lifted his head, and looked at her.

"I have to go back there to make sure of everything. Earlier, that foolish maid said something was happening, so I need to check it myself. Believe me, darling, once that crippled man is dead, all his wealth will be mine. We can have as much fun as we want. I’ll even buy this island if you want."

Emma spoke with excitement as she stroked his face. Pedro only grunted in annoyance.

"But how much longer, baby?"

"It won’t be much longer, darling. I’ve heard that the disabled man won’t live more than a month."

Emma smiled, her eyes full of seduction, making Pedro want her even more. He started kissing her again with passion. His lips and hands explored her, making her moan with pleasure. They finished making love before Emma returned to the Rodriguez house.

Meanwhile, Elena was getting ready to become a bride. A professional makeup artist worked on her. Elena felt a bit anxious. Even though this wasn’t her first marriage, she couldn’t help feeling nervous, especially since this wedding was so unexpected.

Elena had never imagined this would happen. She had run away from the Mendez house with no plan after her first marriage ended. Now, she was about to get married again.

Even now, Elena was still confused about Diego. Why had this wealthy man chosen her to be his wife? It would be easy for a rich man to marry anyone he wanted, so why pick Elena, a homeless woman he found on the street?

After a while, Elena’s makeup was done. She had become a beautiful and elegant woman, dressed in a white wedding gown that fit her perfectly.

"Dios mío! You look stunning, Ma’am," the makeup artist exclaimed in awe.

"Thank you," Elena replied with a gentle smile. Soon after, Mia came in and was amazed by how beautiful Elena looked in her wedding dress.

"Come, Ma’am, Mr.Rodriguez is waiting," Mia said, smiling as she offered her hand to guide Elena.

Elena walked slowly next to Mia, her hand cold from nerves. She held Mia’s hand tightly, and Mia could feel how anxious she was.

"Relax, Elena, everything will be alright," Mia whispered, trying to calm the young woman who would soon become Mrs. Rodriguez. Elena nodded and took a deep breath to steady herself.

Out front, Diego was ready too. He wore a white suit and looked handsome and dignified, even as he sat in his wheelchair with Mario beside him.

The maids lined up, bowing their heads as Elena passed through the main hall. Yet they couldn’t help but notice the bride's radiant beauty.

Unnoticed by anyone, someone quietly slipped out of the room.

While no one was watching, someone quietly left the room. They found a private spot and called Emma."What? Getting married? So, it's true that the cripple man is getting married?""Y-yes, Ma'am, the bride is very beautiful.""Fool! I don't care if she's beautiful or not, but who is the woman Diego is marrying?" Emma huffed impatiently."Oh, her name is Elena, Ma'am. They're getting ready for the blessing ceremony," Dona replied quickly."Elena, huh? All right. I'll head there immediately."After giving her report, Dona hurried back to her post, but the other maids had already left and returned to their work."Where have you been, Dona? Jose was looking for you. If you're not sick anymore, get back to your work.""Who are you to boss me around?" Dona replied irritably."I'm not bossing you around, Dona. I'm just passing on Jose's message," the other maid retorted, just as irritably. The two of them hurried off to the kitchen.Meanwhile, Elena reached the front where Diego was waiting.

Mario still looked unsure and confused about his boss's plan, but Diego just smiled at his trusted man's hesitation."I believe Elena can do it, as long as you are willing to guide her patiently and earnestly."Diego spoke sincerely and looked at Mario with confidence."Very well, Sir. I will do my utmost to handle this matter. Allow me to proceed with registering your marriage to Miss Elena."Diego nodded. Mario turned and left his boss's office. The Rodriguez residence was busy that day. Mia had the maids and housemen working harder than usual. From early morning, the house was full of activity, especially in the kitchen. Some maids who usually worked elsewhere were also helping out there."What event is happening, really? Why is it so busy? Is the boss going to host a big banquet?" Dona asked, one of the kitchen staff."That's right, there will be a big banquet tonight," another maid replied. They whispered to each other as they worked."Yes, but what's the occasion for the big ban

Mrs. Victoria stared at the object in her head housekeeper's hand. "A ring…?" she murmured, examining the diamond-studded ring closely. "It looks like Elena's ring.""Yes, Ma'am. That's Elena's wedding ring with Mr. Raul," Carmen replied quietly."How did you get it?" Mrs. Victoria asked in surprise.Quickly, Carmen explained how she found the ring.It began when she went back to Elena's room to bring her to the kitchen. Elena had been expected for a while but still hadn't shown up. Carmen thought Elena was asleep, so she entered the unlocked room. But no one was there.Carmen searched every corner of the room for Elena, but still couldn't find her. Then, by accident, she saw the ring lying on Elena's dressing table."Hmm, it seems Elena has left," Mrs. Victoria sighed, then turned to her son, who was starting to get drunk."Yes, Ma'am. And she didn't take anything with her.""Carmen, quickly take Raul to his room before he starts rambling nonsense," Mrs. Victoria said, worried as she

Elena was stunned. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “W-what, Sir?”“Was my voice not clear, Elena?”“Fine, I’ll repeat myself. Marry me, Elena. I will give you a better life,” the man said again.“M-marry…?” Elena whispered, feeling completely lost. How could this man ask her to marry him when they had just met and didn’t know each other? She didn’t even know his name. He really was a strange man.“So, Elena?”“But, Sir, we just met; we don’t know each other. How could you ask me to marry you so suddenly?”“What is impossible, Elena? If we can make something easy, why make it difficult?” Diego Rodriguez said firmly.“Sir, isn’t marriage something sacred, not something to be played with?”Hearing Elena’s words, the strange man smiled. “You’re right, Elena. So, who’s toying with you? I’m offering you a real marriage, a marriage that is lawful in the eyes of the law.”Elena went quiet again. What was happening in her life? She had just gone through the pain of a marriage that e

Elena turned toward the source of the sound.A man sitting in a wheelchair smiled kindly at her.Under the bright city lights, his calm face was clearly visible. He seemed older than Raul, but there was still some handsomeness in his calm features. His eyes were steady and kind. Even sitting in a wheelchair, he gave off a quiet sense of authority.“Who are you, sir?” Elena asked in confusion. The man smiled and wheeled himself closer to Elena.“Is a name really that important?” he replied, his eyes turning to the star-filled sky. “Look at those stars—are their names important to them? They remain as they are, no matter what people call them.”Elena looked up too, almost without thinking. As she stared at the peaceful stars above, she felt herself relax a little.“The night sky is beautiful, calm, and peaceful with its stars. But why do you seem the opposite?”The man’s words snapped Elena out of her thoughts. She quickly looked away from the sky and met the stranger’s steady gaze.“I…
