LOGINAria's POV
When dawn broke, I opened my heavy eyes.
I felt a sharp pain all over my body.
"Aria, you have a severe spiritual virus infection."
"You came in time, or your wolf would be in danger. We tried to call your mate, but..."
"I see. Thank you," I forced a weak smile.
I pulled my phone.
More than ten missed calls from Julian popped up.
Why would he call me?
Then, someone was calling again.
"Lara?" I spoke, my voice raspy.
"You bad woman! Are you trying to kill Kierra?!"
I froze.
"Lara, what are you talking about?"
"Stop pretending! Kierra wore your pajamas last night, and now she is sick! Daddy stayed up all night by her side! I hate you!"
"Lara, calm down. I put herbs into the fabric, because you and Issac loved the smell before. How is that my fault?"
"You're lying! I don't believe you!" Lara slammed the phone.
My vision blurred.
Suddenly, a little hand reached out, holding a tissue.
"Please don't cry."
I looked up.
It was Nola, the little girl from the next bed.
"Thank you, Nola," I said and smiled.
"When you smile, you look like a glowing fairy!"
"Too bad... my Daddy already has Mommy. But my uncle is single! He is super handsome!"
"Nola, I already have a mate."
"Really? Then where is your mate?" Nola asked innocently.
"When Mommy gets sick, Daddy stays up all night to watch over her!"
The smile faded from my face.
The weak Mate Bond felt frozen and dead.
Yes, Julian had spent the whole night watching over Kierra.
A few minutes later, Julian called.
"Where are you now?"
"I'm at the hospital."
"Hospital? Well, good. I am at the hospital too. Come to the VIP room. Now."
With that, he hung up.
Ten minutes later, I appeared at the door.
I was in my hospital gown, and I felt weak.
"You are sick? Why didn't you call?" Julian frowned, looking at me.
"I'm OK. I can take care of myself."
"Aria, are you just trying to make me mad?"
Then, the pups ran out.
Issac froze when he saw me.
"Mommy... are you sick?"
Lara stood frozen, her eyes turning red.
"Mommy... why are you in the hospital too? Did my curse come true? No... I didn't mean it..."
"Thanks to you, I am sick, but still breathing."
The pups began to cry.
"Issac, Lara, what happened?" Kierra came to the door.
But she lost her balance and fell toward the floor.
"Kierra!"
The pups gasped.
They let go of my hand and rushed to Kierra.
Julian quickly caught her in his arms.
"You are sick, just stay in bed!" Julian held her tightly.
"I'm fine... I was just worried about Issac and Lara."
Kierra leaned against his chest.
"Aria, you're here too? I thought you were with that man last night..."
Julian stared sharply at me.
"You were with a man?"
"And, why were there herbs in your pajamas?"
"Yes! Mom! Kierra almost died because of it!"
I looked at the "family" hugging together.
"Because of you all."
"You used to say you loved the warm herb smell on me. That's why I put those Healer herbs into every piece of clothing I made for you. They help young pups grow. Alpha Julian, you smelled it countless times in our bed. How can you forget it?"
Julian turned furious.
"No matter what, Kierra got sick because of you. Give the painting your grandfather left you to her. Then, apologize."
My heart skipped a beat.
"What?"
That painting was the only thing left by Lance, my grandfather.
It was priceless, and it was my only link to my family.
Kierra saw it once and told Julian that she wanted it.
"Julian, if Aria likes that painting so much, maybe I'll just borrow it. It's just a painting..."
"That is my grandfather's gift to me, Julian! You have no right to give it away!" I shouted.
"Aria, watch your tone!" Julian roared.
"Mommy, Kierra said we must fix our mistakes!" Issac added. "It's just a painting. Why can't you just give it to her?"
I looked at my son. "Those are my pajamas. Whatever herbs I put in, I did so for me. Why was Kierra wearing them?!"
Issac went silent.
Lara was furious. "I don't care! You tried to poison Kerra! That's it!"
I didn't expect this.
I staggered backward and hit my head against the wall.
Suddenly, a warm little hand grabbed me from behind, holding me steady.
It was Nola.
The little girl blinked at me.
"Daddy said all pups love their mommies the most. So, don't be mad, they are just trying to protect their mommy."
I smiled bitterly. "Well, Nola, I am their mommy."
"What? Why?" Nola looked shocked.
Lara felt embarrassed.
She screamed and rushed forward to hit Nola.
I caught Lara's arm tightly. "Lara! What's the matter with you?!"
Lara began to cry loudly. "Mommy! You don't help me! You don't love me at all!"
Nola said bluntly, "But you helped that woman. She stole your mommy's pajamas. Do you love your mommy?"
"Shut up!" Lara shouted hysterically.
Issac yelled, "Kierra got sick because she wore Mom's clothes! So, it is Mom's fault!"
Nola asked, "So, did she force her to wear them?"
"No... Kierra wanted to wear them herself," Issac said.
Kierra froze, quickly turning her face away.
"Enough!" Julian let out a deafening Alpha roar and stared fiercely at me.
Aria's POVI nodded and smiled at her."Of course. What do you need me to do?"Jane let out a sigh of relief, her shoulders dropping as the subtle, tense spike in her pheromones smoothed out into a warm, grounded energy."At the end of next month, the Starks are hosting a massive design investment competition," Jane explained, leaning forward to lay out the details. She walked me through the rules, the judging panel, and the strict submission criteria step by step.I listened intently before raising a single, practical question. "If I win, is there a cash prize attached?"Jane blinked, looking at me in surprise."Yeah, there is. Three million dollars. Wait, are you low on cash lately, Aria?""Not really," I replied, giving her a quick wink."But hey, who's gonna say no to more money?"We both burst into laughter at the same time, the lighthearted sound echoing off her office walls. The truth was that
Aria's POVI shifted my gaze to Livia, who was standing near the display rack, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. The moment she caught my eye, her scent spiked with an acrid, bitter wave of hostility—toxic and sharp with envy."Don't get cocky just because Elena wore a dress you slapped a few tweaks on," Livia sneered, taking a menacing step toward me. "You just made minor modifications. That piece wasn't your original design!"I looked at her completely unfazed, my voice dripping with calm detachment."And your point is?""Stop acting so damn innocent!" she hissed, her nostrils flaring. "I don't know what you did! Back when you first joined the company, you sabotaged the major deal between Skylar Studio and us! You're an untalented cheat. You don't even deserve to set foot in Silver Star Studio!""Is that so?" I poured myself a cup of water from the dispenser, taking a slow sip as I blinked at her."Too bad. Becau
Aria's POVJulian stared at Ramon in absolute shock.Having Ramon step forward to publicly defend me was clearly the last thing he had ever anticipated. The blood drained from his face, leaving behind a pathetic mixture of disbelief and humiliated fury."Aria, you're still my mate! I am your Alpha!" Julian spat through gritted teeth, his eyes flashing a dangerous amber as his voice dropped into an overbearing, heavy tone. "You'd better keep that in mind!"I didn't back down for a single second, meeting his glare with cold indifference."Ramon is my neighbor across the hall. Just because you're a cheating bastard doesn't mean everyone else is like you."Before Julian could bark back, the lobby elevator doors chimed and slid open. An elderly lady stepped out, holding a small dog on a leash. When her eyes landed on us, her face instantly lit up."Ramon! Oh, it's been so long since I last saw you, dear! Your grandfather comp
Aria's POVJulian cleared his throat awkwardly, his scent spiking with a sharp burst of defensive, embarrassed musk."It's freezing tonight. She forgot her gloves, so I was just helping her keep her hands warm."Ramon stared down, letting out a low chuckle as he shook his head in absolute disbelief. He slowly scanned Julian and Kierra from head to toe, his dark eyes brimming with silent mockery.Kierra forced a tight, rigid smile onto her face, though the bitter, metallic tang of her anxious pheromones gave away her panic."Alpha Ramon, please don't get the wrong idea. Julian is a real gentleman. We just happened to see Aria from down the street and thought she might be in some kind of trouble, so we hurried over to check on her."She gently swayed Julian's arm, her voice dripping with sweet poison. "Am I right, Julian?"Julian's back stiffened, then gave a curt nod."That's right."I watched the two of them put o
Aria's POVThe black van suddenly threw itself into reverse, tires screeching against the asphalt as it backed away and sped off into the darkness, its taillights disappearing down the deserted street.Ramon didn't go after it.He kept his hands firm on the steering wheel, his chest heaving slightly as his breathing settled. It took me a long, terrifying moment to pull my thoughts together. My heart was slamming against my ribs like a trapped bird. Was that... a hit? Did someone just try to kill us?It certainly felt that way, since this wasn't the first time for me!It happened when I was just married to Julian. That day, I went out in Julian's car.On the road, out of nowhere, a truck rammed into us.I was injured so badly that I lay in the hospital for three agonizing months with broken ribs. However, Julian only stopped by my ward once the next day.He stayed for less than ten minutes, loo
The Third Person's POVThe online storm hit a fever pitch.Moonlight Co. dropped two official posts:【Friends, both the initial design draft version and Elena's pearl-embellished version will be released separately for sale. Both are now live on our official website.】【For those saying the gowns aren't pretty—please feel free to unfollow us. We'll be posting a collection of Elena's gala photos, and we wouldn't want you to feel regret looking at them.】With Moonlight Co. throwing punches, public outrage toward Kierra exploded into a full-blown inferno.Meanwhile, in the backstage dressing room, Kierra completely lost her cool. She threw a fit, smashed stuff everywhere, and left the room in total wreckage."So useless! All of you!" Kierra screeched, her face contorted in fury. "Give me one reason not to fire you all!"When Zion rushed into the room, he was shocked at the scene and felt utterly heartbroken."I shouldn't have come to this awards ceremony... I shouldn't have worn this stup
Julian's POVAt the Altar, chaos erupted.A pickpocket crashed into the security line.Kierra let out a gasp, falling into my arms.My phone fell and was instantly crushed by the crowd."Julian, I'm so sorry about your phone..." Kierra bit her lip."It's fine. I'll get another one," I said flatly.
Aria's POVOn Sunday, I tried FaceTiming the pups.Through the screen, I saw Lara and Isaac clinging to Kierra's silk dress. They weren't in any hurry to see me.To them, I represented rules, health protocols, and quiet sighs; Kierra represented glamour, sweets, and indulgence."Aren't you guys exc
Aria's POVI watched my pups, Lara and Isaac, as they knelt before the statue of the Moon Goddess. Lara's voice drove steel needles into my ears."I hope Kierra becomes Daddy's real Luna," Lara whispered. "I hope they stay in love forever!"Kierra stood beside them, letting out a soft laugh. Her sl
Aria's POVIt was the third anniversary of my Mate Bond with Julian.I stood in his estate, rejected by my own twin pups for my "reeking Omega scent."And that lavish gala wasn't for me.It was for another woman....Three hours earlier, I was heading home early, battling a severe case of the flu.
