“Devin! You don’t mean that!”

“I fucking do,” he said, “Hey, beautiful..”

“You’re a piece of shit.”

“And you’ve ALWAYS been a piece of shit, Henry. Look what you did to her when she needed you the most. I know about you marking her on the thigh. I was watching from the shadows.”

“Devin..” I cried out again, hoping he wasn’t going to hurt the child or Atticus, “I will go with you if you,-”

“Like hell you will!” Henry stood in front of me, the mate I needed—the mate I didn’t think I wanted.

“Oh, shit..” Devin scoffed, “You don’t even REMEMBER her, you fool!”

“I DO!!!”

Henry didn’t turn to me, but I felt his body shudder.

“I REMEMBER ALL OF IT!”

I kept holding him as he spoke.

“I know how much I loved her and hated you—with good reasons now,”Henry admitted, “I remember wanting her for my mate and thinking she wasn’t. I remember wanting to kill you, but I DID NOT. I thought she loved you—I never knew she had feelings for me and you could sense that, you asshole! You KNEW!”

“I did..” Devin said, “But once the trance takes hold, it won’t matter. She’ll be mine whether she likes it or not.”

“Over my dead body,” I said, “You will die, Devin—for real this time.”

“The witches are coming,” Molly whispered, “And the rogue pack..”

“Yes,” Devin chuckled, “It’s time for all of you assholes to die—all of you except my sweet Molly.”

“You’re not even an Alpha..” Henry scoffed, “How do you,-”

“Doesn’t matter,” Devin shrugged, “I’ll get what I want and head out of town. The rogue pack is full of gammas and the like. I am in charge there.”

“And your witches? The entranced?”

“All of my slaves.”

“You won’t get away with this!”

“I think I already have.”

“I’ll go with you if you promise not to hurt anyone else!” Molly belted behind me.

“I said no and as your mate, I will not tolerate this madness any longer.”

I turned to her slightly, “I remember our first kiss and I’ve loved all of the kisses after that. I want more of them and I intend to get them.”

“Boring!!” Devin said, pushing Ann into Atticus, “Get the fuck out so I can kill this piece of shit!”

“NO!!!” Molly somehow got away from me and before I could stop her, I watched Devin’s knife plunge it’s way into Molly’s chest as his eyes grew wide with fear and desperation and I felt my whole world crumble.

“MOLLY!!!” I rushed to her side, pushing Devin out of the way and knocking him into the wall. Atticus took hold of him, the trance lifting.

Ann was by my side trying to heal my mate.

My mate..

“What the fuck..what dagger is this?”

“It has witch’s bane on it,” Ann said, slowly pulling out the blade and handing it to me as she applied pressure to the wound, “She’s dying if we don’t get her to a healer.”

“Her friend,-”

“They’re on their way,” Atticus said, “Looks like Lori figured something was amiss when she went to the cabin to check on her. The place was ransacked.”

I eyed Devin, “Couldn’t even,-”

“No..” Devin shook his head, “This IS NOT THE PLAN!”

“No, it isn’t..”I growled, my eyes turning and my werewolf hybrid coming out, “Today YOU die, Devin and there will be NO coming back.”
