CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Elena sighed.

Her eyes ran through the hallways as she hoped she'd see anyone she knew. Just anyone would be fine.

She knew she was already 25minutes late for class, that not even motivating her to head towards class faster. She slowly slammed her locker shut, throwing the notebook and pens she collected from it into her bag.

She didn't see Luke in the morning. Either he went to school really early or he was going really late. She had uselessly lurked around, hoping to see him before leaving for school thus she got late.

She had maths. Positive that June would be in class already, she hoped she saved a seat for her next to hers. She couldn't imagine eyes following her as she looked for a seat to sit. If she was unlucky, her annoying classmates would fill the empty seats next to them with their backpacks immediately they saw her approaching.
