CHAPTER 14: MARRIAGE

****JULIAN'S POV***

Crazy.

Everything had become utterly crazy.

Everyone had lost their minds.

Looking at my room, which was filled with different gifts ranging from a wedding suit to wedding night wears to books on sex and pregnancy, I realized everyone had gone crazy.

My grandmother and Xavier's grandmother spent the past few days going shopping, buying everything possible, and even planning ahead for my pregnancy.

My grandmother wouldn't stop advising me about oestrus and whatnot. She even wanted me to give birth a year after marriage. Heck, she would have to kill me then.

The fear of getting married to a stranger I only knew from one nightstand hadn't yet left my heart, but my 'darling' grandmother had already placed her heart on great-grandchildren from me.

The thought of all these was so annoying. It made me want to break things.

I sat in front of the mirror, staring at my bare face's reflection. My smooth skin looked especially dazzling, adding more

JULIANI had no choice but to wait helplessly as Xavier returned from the kitchen with the tea flask in hand. He handed it over to Abel, who actively received it and hugged it to his chest. Xavier walked over, his hands curled around my waist, and he planted a soft kiss on my forehead. "You should take care at the set. Don't let anyone trouble you too much." He muttered. I nodded along. Anything he said. He already gave me the ginger tea anyway. Xavier seemed to notice my mood as he gently captured my lips with his. He sucked and licked. "I will check up on you in the afternoon." He promised. A frown immediately settled on my face. "No," I mumbled. "You shouldn't come." Xavier raised a brow. "Why?" He asked. I took a step back, pressing my hands on his chest as I shook my head. "No one should know about us. Remember?" His expression changed. His softened eyes flickered, and he turned his head away. "I understand." He muttered. Seeing his reaction, my heart beat quickened. My

  • CAGED IN HIS EMBRACE    CHAPTER 43: GINGER TEA

JULIANXavier soon returned with a blue cup in hand. Even from a distance, I could already perceive the heavy scent of ginger that wafted dangerously in the air. My stomach growled, but to my annoyance, it didn't reject it. Instead, the smell alone made me feel comforted. The lingering discomfort in my chest seemed to dissipate, and when he handed over the cup, I no longer had a reason to fight him. I lowered my head to the warmly made ginger tea, held my nose to stop the scent from wafting into my nose, closed my eyes to stop myself from seeing the tea, and then drank it in slow sips. Xavier stood before me. His presence made it impossible for me to drop the cup without drinking enough. After a while, I dropped the almost empty cup on my lap and held out my tongue, feeling disgruntled. Xavier bent forward, captured my tongue, and calmly sucked. Blush crept to my cheeks, and a low moan escaped my throat. After a while, he stood right, collected the cup from me, and stroked my

  • CAGED IN HIS EMBRACE    CHAPTER 42: MORNING SICKNESS

JULIANI bent over the toilet, throwing up everything I'd eaten last night. My throat felt painful, and holding my stomach, I couldn't stop gagging. Reflexive tears escaped my eyes. Xavier patted my back gently. "Sorry." He whispered as he helped brush my hair off my face. I staggered backward, only to be held by Xavier. My breathing turned ragged. My fingers wiped the stain off my mouth, but I was too exhausted to think about what to do next. Xavier held my hand, and soon, water poured on it. His warmth covered my hands as he carefully washed. After that, he carried me out of the bathroom. "I think it's the morning sickness. But to be certain, we still need to call the doctor." Xavier explained as he helped me sit on a couch in the sitting room. I nodded, still trying to steady my breathing. But something felt wrong. The morning sickness shouldn't start this early... right? It was only three weeks...But then again, maybe it was just my luck. It wasn't like my luck had ever

  • CAGED IN HIS EMBRACE    CHAPTER 41: PLEASURE

JULIAN Only when Xavier's finger thrust into my space did I understand what he meant by using something else. Displeasure rose in my chest, but it was soon dispersed by another sharp thrust. A moan tore through my throat. Though the pleasure wasn't as addictive as the one I'd been tasting before, it was still better than nothing. His fingers seemed to easily find the itching spot, and he relieved them all. My breathing slowly turned ragged. Tears fell from my eyes as my lips parted, begging for more. Xavier chuckled, but his movement remained steady. "We can't risk the child. We can only do this much." He explained in a coaxing tone. I nodded, understanding him. "Then, add a finger more," I ordered. Xavier nodded and did as told. With that, the pleasure skyrocketed, and I moaned shamelessly until I was out of breath. Xavier removed his fingers, and I lay limply in bed, unable to muster any strength to beg for more. His warm fingers wiped the sweat off my forehead, and h

  • CAGED IN HIS EMBRACE    CHAPTER 40: NEEDY

JULIANXavier's face paled as he rushed forward. He picked a few wipes and quickly cleaned my nose, mouth, and chin. "What's wrong? Do you feel uncomfortable?" He asked, his tone panicky. I was in a daze. I nodded. "Yes. Uncomfortable." I really felt that way. How could he affect me so much? How could he come out of the bathroom that way? He knew how much I love his figure... right?Xavier's jaw clenched. He grabbed my hand and squeezed gently. "Wait here for me. I will grab your medicine, and we can immediately go back to the hospital." My eyes widened, and I immediately grabbed his hand, stopping him from leaving. Those bitter medicines? Who wanted them?"I..." My lips parted, but how was I supposed to explain?"The thing is..." I stuttered, unable to come up with a good explanation. Xavier frowned. He crouched before me and placed his hand on my lap. "Tell me, Julian. I know how exhausted you are at the moment, and trust me, I can understand." He sighed. "So, I will..." I

  • CAGED IN HIS EMBRACE    CHAPTER 39: FRUSTRATION

JULIANAfter sorting things out with Abel and arranging my schedule for the shooting, he stood up and left. I sat alone in the sitting room, my eyes closed and head resting on the couch. A low sigh escaped my lips. Using the pregnancy to pin Xavier with me sounded like something that was indeed possible. But what were my feelings toward him?He was once just a handsome alpha with excellent bed skills. Then, he became a contract marriage partner... someone I'd expected to leave in a few weeks. But now, what were my feelings toward him?I rubbed my temple wearily. "Julian?"Xavier's deep voice rang in my ears, and I opened my eyes. I saw him standing before me. I was so lost in thought that I didn't even notice his presence until he called. Seeing that handsome face before me, I felt my heart beating faster. My lips twitched, and then it dawned on me___ What I loved was Xavier's good looks and maybe his bed skills? No, not maybe. I definitely loved his bed skills. Wasn't that wh
